“You think I can move fast like this? You’re a crazy fucking bastard if you do.”
Morrison was speaking in an accent so thick that Levi only really understood "fucking crazy bastard" but, as the Irishman struggled to sit up, Levi got the gist of the short rant as he watched Morrison struggle to get up. The idiot was feeling his injuries and had decided to play them up. Well, he wasn't getting any sympathy off Levi. He'd given Morrison a chance to back down, even after he'd insulted Levi's wolf, but the moron hadn't taken the hint. Sympathy would be wasted on such a colossal idiot.
“Gimme a second.”
Levi nodded and watched Morrison as he gathered his strength. A good two metres back from the door, Levi was in a firing stance, legs planted firmly apart to give him stability and gun held with both hands for stability and better accuracy. His finger was on the trigger, ready to shoot at a moment's notice, but he found himself slowly pulling on it. As Morrison sat on the seat of Levi's ute, Levi suddenly reach the point where the trigger was about to break and release the firing pin. He paused for a few seconds to consider this. It was very tempting to kill Morrison and dispose of the body, there would be no grudges that way, and simple was good. But...it was wrong to kill so easily and wantonly, wasn't it? Mentally swearing at himself, Levi realised that his wolf had tried to be subtle in influencing his decisions. Mentally growling at his wolf, Levi carefully, deliberately, placed his finger outside of the trigger guard. He could still shoot Morrison down if he had to, but he wasn't going to risk shooing him before Vis got here.
Morrison finally stood up, and Levi could smell the man's pain and fear. He was feeling a bit more sorry for the man now that he'd shut the wolf off, but he still kept his hard face on. Showing sympathy to someone you held at gunpoint was never a good idea. Instead, Levi stared at Morrison, looking down the sights of his pistol, but staring at his eyes nonetheless. It was instinctual, his wolf wanting to enforce its dominance over Morrison, and Levi saw this as a way of keeping his wolf satisfied. Hopefully Morrison, if he had any brains, would submit without a fight this time, which would help calm the wolf. Starring hard at Morrison, Levi delivered what would hopefully be his last bit of dialogue before Vis showed up.
"Good. The Alpha should be along soon and decide what's to be done with you."
