The sound of footsteps on the ground echoed in the night as the boots belonging to a female walked on the gravel path that lead to a fairly large town. When she got to the entrance she stood there for a few moments, her dark brown eyes fixed on the welcome sign as her black hair fluttered in the breeze, a laugh escaping her red lips as she finally took a few steps into the place. It all seemed different to other places she had visited; there was a sense of life in this place, as though there were things here that needed to be explored, hidden mysteries that need to be uncovered; yet the town also seemed to be dead, like something was missing or couldn't be seen, as though ghosts of the past were haunting the place. It excited her a little to think that this was a place she would stay in for a while.
Her eyes flickered around, taking in the scenery as her boots hit the floor and she walked down the quiet street. There were no signs of life, or even the undead, as she walked along the path, the moonlight shining down on her. In fact the town was almost peaceful. This part of it at least. Her fingers ran along the edge of a wall as she got closer to the beach, he eyes narrowing slightly as she found it a little suspicious that she could sense things lurking in the night but she couldn't see or hear them. She had never had this feeling before but it kept her alert and she was thankful for that. Then again the female also thought that she should hate whatever was creeping her out for making her be like this.
Suddenly, as she got to the beach, the feeling vanished and she felt like herself again. A small chuckle escaped her lips as she zipped up the front of her jacket a little more, she felt like herself again. Her fists clenched as her leather boots walked into the sand. This wasn't her usual choice of clothing, normally she wore her hunting clothes, but tonight was different; tonight she was scoping out the area and seeing what monsters lurked in the darkness. The girl was wearing a navy blue hoodie with the zip up to her neck, a white t-shirt underneath that; the lower half of her body was covered by dark jeans which were tucked into her boots. This, for her, was her casual clothing, the things she wore on her night's off. Not that she ever had many of those. Her life was dedicated to what she considered to be her job.
A small smirk appeared on her face as she walked along the beach, the breeze a lot cooler down here due to the sea being so close. She figured the vampires were having a day off, or were too scared to start anything with her. It seemed so quiet. So boring. Her brown eyes gazed down her her right hand as a blue light started to shine inside of it, when her hand opened it revealed a ball of electricity nicely hovering inches above her palm. The smirk on the female's face grew as she made the ball glow a little brighter. Creating electric balls was one thing, a small piece of what she could do, the true extent of the powers were far greater. Being frozen at one age, for example, didn't come naturally; it came with great power. But, of course, with great power comes great responsibility. The female knew that.
Finally, she got to the end of the beach and walked up the path at the end, just at the point where the cliff face joined the path again. The long, wooden pier was running alongside her, stretching out into the sea a little. Perhaps the vampires were there, eating candy and throwing hoops in order to get a prize. Highly unlikely but it was still worth a shot to check the place out, perhaps she would end up finding something. Her boots echoed louder as she walked along the wooden path, the only thing keeping the pier suspended in the air being the wooden beams below. Her eyes narrowed slightly and flickered around again as she examined the area, sensing some supernatural being had been around recently, her fists stayed clenched by her side as she prepared herself for fighting. Some badass dude had been here recently, she could feel it, but were they still here? Right now it seemed that they had gone but she wasn't giving up the hope of having a good fight. She wanted a vampire to still be here so she could give it a good ass-whooping before turning it to dust... Well, splattered body parts, considering dusting only happened in the books and on TV. Real vampires exploded. Now that was entertainment.

The water had always been rather calming for Maggie, it reminded her of home...a place she hadn't seen for many years. Her families faces would be forever imprinted in her mind as they watched her leave Australia behind. Maggie had learned to hide her past just as well as her accent. Her emotions weren't much of a problem to her either. The fact that she knew her sister was dead upset her, they had been so close but Maggie's heart was pulling her in a different direction. She hadn't abandoned her family completely, after her move to the states she made it a routine to keep in touch with Jenn as much as possible. Maggie smiled as she thought about the letters she used to write...normally the described her drunken nights and dates with the men she was meeting. America was a change from her life in Australia but she was more then happy to share those experiences with her sister. Maggie and Jenn had a strong bond...which is why she supposed out of everything in her human life the thought of her sisters death hurt the most. Thinking of her sister was as close to humanity as Maggie got.
Maggie lifted her head as she felt the presence of someone near. As much as she loved being able to sniff out those that where near, she hated how often her abilities interrupted her thoughts. It almost seemed more enjoyable to be surprised and have a little more time with her humanity before she sucked it all back in to turn into the monster she really was. Her feet glided as she slipped through the shadows making sure not to make a sound. As soon as the scent got to her she froze. The scent was familiar, so much that is caused Maggie to stop dead in her tracks. If her heart was beating it would have felt like it stopped completely. There was no way this was happening, she must have been seeing things. "Jenn?" she said softly as she stepped out into the moonlight getting a better look at her once thought to be dead sister's face.

The female walked around for a little bit, peeking into the windows of the shops as she did so, hoping to see a vampire or some creature that goes bump in the night. Her eyes gazed around as she tried to track where the supernatural feeling came from, it was here somewhere, it had to be. Then it was gone. Just like that the feeling disappeared again and the female's eyes narrowed as she wondered what had happened. It was twice now that she got a feeling and it had just disappeared. What was going on with this town? Well, whatever it was it seemed interesting. Nothing like anything she had seen before in her life. She loved the feeling of something dark and mysterious lurking around, waiting to be uncovered, it made her feel like exploring and it raised her adrenaline levels. It was always fun to find spooky things and then kick the crap out of them.
As her senses returned to normal the female leaned against the pier, staring out at the sea. It was different here. Far different from Australia. It was... better? For her at least. Australia was her home and it always would be, no matter what she would always go back there, but America felt right. It felt like she belonged here, like something had been drawing her here all along. It felt like home. A sigh escaped her red lips as she began to think about what life would be like if her sister had have stayed in her life. Of course they wouldn't have been alive at this time, but it still couldn't hurt to think about it. Would they have stayed in Australia or would they have come to America still? Both ideas were perfectly plausible and could have happened in some way.
She could imagine them sitting on the beach in Australia. No cares, just living life how they wanted. She imagined they would be sat in the sand, a bottle of vodka in their hands with their lips barely touching the neck of the bottle as they drank a little sip ever now and then. They would have left their parent's house and would have a large home that they have to themselves. They would be happy. Perfectly content siblings, talking to each other and being open just like siblings should be. They'd be happy and laughing and just plotting things out. It would be fun... Or they could own a mansion in America and visit a beach often, they'd live in California or something, or maybe even Chicago if they could afford a house there. As long as they were together. As long as they were happy.
The female'e head lifted slightly as she snapped back to reality, she quickly gained her posture and began looking around the pier again, just in case there was something there. There was. Down in the darkness there was a figure and the female stared at it, her fists clenched as she got into a position ready to attack. This was more like it. This was the Jamerson Falls she had wanted; the one with the evils of the night; the stupid leeches that lurked, waiting to feast on blood. Oh yes, she was ready for them. "Jenn?" She wasn't ready for that though. Her eyes narrowed and she spat at the floor as the figure spoke in a soft female voice as it stepped out into the moonlight. Jennifer remembered the face, but she had no idea where from, it had been ages since she had seen it last. She cracked her neck slightly as he fists clenched tighter, not trusting the female in front of her, "how do you know my name? Who are you?" Her eyes examined the figure as she spoke, trying to remember who this person was.

Maggie lips parted slightly as she stared back at her sister. The was no way this was real...but it had to be she certainly wasn't dreaming...at least she was sure vampires didn't dream. "how do you know my name? Who are you?" she blinked a few times just to make sure what she was seeing was real. For all she knew she could have had some bad blood and was hallucinating."Jenn, It's me, Your sister....but how are you even alive? This is impossible...you should be dead...and well if not that old."
Maggie stepped closer as her eyes widened even more. All the blood would have been rushing from her face if she had been human. She didn't know what on earth was going on. Jennifer smelt human...but Maggie knew that was impossible, she wouldn't be this young still. There was no way. "What are you doing here? How are you here? I left so long ago..." Her hand reached out and touched her sisters cheek as her now human looking eyes gazed into Jenn's.
It had been a while since Maggie had last cried...in fact the last time she had felt those crimson tears race down her cheek was when Luke had admitted he loved her. As she stop there looking at her twin and remembering everything they had done together as children Maggie couldn't help but cry. She had been reduced to nothing more then tears. She hadn't realized how much she had missed her sister until she actually was there in front of her.

Jennifer watched as the person in front of her blinked and then spoke again, "Jenn, it's me, your sister... but how are you even alive? This is impossible... you should be dead... and well if not that, old." Her head tilted to the side slightly and her eyes narrowed as the female stepped closer to her. This was impossible. Her sister was dead. Why was this stupid creature lying to her? Why would she pretend to be Maggie? A low growl escaped her lips as the female spoke again, "What are you doing here? How are you here? I left so long ago..." The female's hand reached out and touched Jennifer's cheek, their eyes staring into each other's. All Jennifer could think of in that moment was how this person was lying to her and pretending to be her sister.
Her hand reached up and grabbed the female's arm before she quickly moved so that she was stood behind this creature, holding the arm against her back as Jennifer slammed the person into the railing. "My sister is dead. Now I don't know what you're playing at but you better give up now." Now she could sense that the female was a vampire, not only was her skin cold but in the moonlight it was clear that she was paler than a human. "You better not start saying more shit otherwise i'll put a stake in that undead heart of yours." Jennifer let go of the female and pushed her away.
As soon as the female was out of her grasp Jennifer did a backflip and landed on one knee. Her hand quickly reached into her right boot and pulled out a stake, which was smaller than most, but could still kill a vampire if it touched the heart. Her eyes fixed on the vampire, waiting for it to say or do something, her hand gripping the stake tightly. It was play time and one more stupid leech was going to die at her hands.

Everything happened so fast, but as it did Maggie could not help feel that her heart was being torn in two. She was sure that this was her sister. Regardless of how it was even possible she know that her twin was only a few feet away from her. Her eyes narrowed on the small stake she had pulled from her shoe...this wasn't the reaction that Maggie was expecting at all. Maybe this was all a trick...a trap to get Maggie to come out and be vulnerable. Try as she might to pull her human emotions back she couldn't. Her vampire instincts and will to fight had completely vanished...she was vulnerable.
"Jenn, it's me. Look I'm sorry I never wrote you back...honest....I love you...I have missed you like crazy. Not a day goes by that I don't think of You, Mum, and Dad. I didn't mean to leave you...I was young and stupid and my night of partying only lead to this." her fangs extended slowly as she held up her hands, tear continued to run down her cheeks. "Please you have to understand...I'm not lying, how would I know all about this?"Maggie backed away slightly as she eyed the stake...her sister had changed just as much as she had. Her once playful and witty twin now looked bitter and cold. Maggie didn't really have much to say...she wasn't exactly the nicest of vampires.

Jennifer's grip on the stake tightened as she saw the female looking at it. Her own eyes narrowed as she got into a crouching position ready to attack. This vampire wasn't going to get away from her. Jennifer had had practice in hunting, many years of practice... Far too many years. Her eyes stayed fixed on the female, her feet flat on the gound as she waited for a logical reason to attack. It wouldn't be good to just dive straight into it. As fun as having a mob of vampires chasing after her sounded, it probably wouldn't be that good. Not like she wasn't willing to fight and try take them down, just that if she was going to succeed in her mission then she had to stay alive.
"Jenn, it's me. Look I'm sorry I never wrote you back...honest....I love you...I have missed you like crazy. Not a day goes by that I don't think of You, Mum, and Dad. I didn't mean to leave you...I was young and stupid and my night of partying only lead to this." Well, that was plausible. It could explain things. Her eyes narrowed a little more as she thought about this, watching the female in front of her cry tears of blood. It was so freaky when vampires did that. It also pissed her off. They were too different and always trying to get sympathy. "Please you have to understand...I'm not lying, how would I know all about this?" Jennifer's head tilted slightly as she took in the female's words. This just wasn't possible.
Her stance softened a little as the female stepped back, her eyes now not as narrow as she had made them before. "Prove it. Prove you're Maggie. What's my middle name and why did our parents choose that name for me?" No one outside of the family knew her middle name. Not one person. This would prove she was Maggie.

Maggie wanted to fall to pieces...this was all too much for her to be taking in. "Snow, Jennifer Snow Evans...Like snow white..." she said looking up at her sister. Maggie didn't know what to do...she wanted to embrace her sister, but she was scared. She felt guilty, she knew she needed to be greeted with stakes instead of open arms. Maggie had abandoned her family...and had abandoned her sister because she thought her transformation would be too much for Jenn to handle. As crimson tears streamed down her cheeks she tried to understand how this meeting was even possible.
"How is this all possible? You...you smell human." that was when she noticed her hunger...but Maggie did everything in her power to hold herself back. In fact this was the most control she had, had in a long time. Control normally wasn't something that went along with Maggie. "I've missed you.." she whispered as she tried to make sense of things. Maggie felt miserable as the guilt piled up. She should have never left Australia...she should have listened to her sister...traveling to American had only gotten her fangs and heartache. It was now very clear that Maggie's human emotions had control of her.

"Snow, Jennifer Snow Evans... Like Snow White..." Jennifer frowned as she just stared at the female. It had to be true; this vile creature was her sister. The sister that she had loved and been best friends with was now one of the people she hated, one of the foul creatures that she had spent her life wanting to kill. It disgusted her that this thing was her sister. It changed everything. It changed how she felt. Her sister was a monster, the person that Jennifer had missed and longed to see for all of her life was a stupid leech. How could she love this person now? She hated vampires. How could she be a hypocrite and suddenly love one? Jennifer wouldn't allow herself to do that. Her eyes stayed fixed on Maggie as she kept crying.
"How is this all possible? You... you smell human." Jennifer's eyes widened slightly before she narrowed them again, getting into a fighting stance once more. No way was a blood sucker getting to her. She would go down fighting before one of them got to taste her blood, even if the foul being was her own sister. Her eyes stayed locked on Maggie as she began thinking of ways to start a fight if it called for it. "I've missed you.." The whisper barely caught her ears but as it did it made her soften a little. She had missed Maggie as well. She missed the sister that she had loved. Jennifer shook her head slightly and snapped back to reality, now wasn't the time to start showing compassion, she had to stay how she was. It was her duty.
"Stop crying, it makes you look even more pathetic than your kind usually is." She stared coldly at her sister, not showing any compassion at all, "I always thought a vampire had killed you. I was right in a way." Jennifer took a step towards Maggie, her voice raising as the aggression came back to her, "you stopped writing to me, Maggie! At least if you had have carried on then I would have been able to handle the fact you became a freak of nature!" A low laugh escaped her lips as she shook her head and smirked slightly, "I have to thank you though. If you had have carried on writing then I wouldn't be here today. I wouldn't have met Robert and he wouldn't have been killed by a leech." She paused for a second as a ball of fire appeared in her left hand, the stake still in her right one, If you had have carried on writing, then I wouldn't be one of the powerful witches that's walked the earth. I wouldn't have cheated death and I probably wouldn't have become a hunter." With the last word she threw the fireball in Maggie's direction.

Reflex. A natural part of life and for good reason. It helped those in danger avoid things without having to stumble over their most likely jumbled thoughts. Maggie could now thank her reflexes because it had just saved her from going up into flames. As soon as Jenn threw the fireball, Maggie had found her body thrown against a the ground in an effort to escape it. Dark eyes looked up and widened as she scooted backwards, stumbling as she picked herself back up. All the words that her sister had spoken to her sounded unreal. This must have been a joke...a really twisted joke. "Jenn, watch out...you could have..." that was when things snapped for Maggie. The words finally sunk in. As fast as that whole thing had happened, Maggie now had the ability to fully understand that she was now hated instead of loved.
"Jenn, please...please tell me this isn't happening. You love me. I know you do. You wouldn't kill me...this wasn't my choice. I didn't become a monster on purpose."Reasoning with her seemed insane. Anyone could see the pure hate. It was like looking at a completely different person. Maggie didn't have much more time to convince her sister. She was about to be in great danger. "Jenn, I look like you. I have your same blood. We are sister...twins to be exact. Don't tell me that you hate me just because I have fangs. You haven't seen me in years. I'm really sorry about the letters but please...Jenn...forgive me." she pleaded as she felt herself crying again. Maggie knew that anything could happen. A witch had great power...they were able to do things humans could not, which scared her because she knew how much of a risk she was making as she tried to talk her sister out of hating her.

Jennifer watched as Maggie dropped to the ground to avoid the fireball, her eyes staying fixed on her sister as she scooted backwards and then stood back up. Jennifer knew this was the right thing. The vampire had to die even if she was her sister. All vampires deserved to die. "Jenn, watch out... You could have..." Her head tilted as her sister finally realised what she had just tried to do. It wasn't that hard to workout really, even vermin could have it figured out in a second. Then again, in her eyes, vampires were vermin. Foul little creatures that needed to be exterminated. Yes, only death would be good enough for the leeches.
"Jenn, please...please tell me this isn't happening. You love me. I know you do. You wouldn't kill me...this wasn't my choice. I didn't become a monster on purpose." Jenn growled in her throat as the vampire tried to tell her how she should be feeling. That's all Maggie was to her now. A vampire. Not her sister. Not her twin. Just a pathetic waste of life vampire. Jennifer didn't care for her not one bit. Even if it wasn't her choice, it didn't change what she was. Jenn wasn't going to accept her. Not in her lifetime. "Jenn, I look like you. I have your same blood. We are sister...twins to be exact. Don't tell me that you hate me just because I have fangs. You haven't seen me in years. I'm really sorry about the letters but please...Jenn...forgive me." Jenn's eyes narrowed again as she created another fireball in her hand, "you're not my sister. Not now."
Jennifer leapt into the air, using her power to project her higher than a normal jump would take her, and then threw the fireball at Maggie. She landed on her feet and instantly did a flip forward, her foot trying to connect with the vampire's face before Jennifer somersaulted into the air and landed on the railing of the pier. She ran around on the railing before leaping onto one of the shops and throwing more fireballs at Maggie, "just die already!" A scowl appeared on her face as she swung her arm and flung the stake at the vampire that once was her sister, hoping to hit her. "I hate you."

Jenn was fast but Maggie was slightly faster, with every fireball and punch that was thrown at her she managed to dodge them with great ease. Maggie might have been young compared to most vampires but she wasn't new to having to hold her own. In fact because of the trouble she often liked to stir up she had, had a lot of experience with learning how to dodge whatever came her way. Maggie's body spun in mid air as she did a flip over Jenn and landed on her feet. It was still hard to believe she was being attacked by her very own sister. But it wasn't hard to miss the hate that was now clearly in her twins eyes. Jenn no longer saw her as her sister but a pest that needed to be wiped out. Maggie was used to hate but never in a million years did she think it would be coming from her sister. Her witch sister to be exact. All these years Jenn had been alive and living as a very powerful witch....that was a lot to take in but of course Maggie didn't have a whole lot of time to process things.
"Jenn!! Please...I'll leave you alone if that is what you want but I'm sure you just need to calm down take a few breaths and get a grip of yourself." she growled with a look of frustration. Dancing with death was causing a lot of stress for Maggie and her darkened eyes and extended fangs only made that clear. She wasn't going to hurt Jenn, she couldn't bring herself to do that but her body wasn't going to let her stay looking human, the true monster was now starting to show. "Jenn...I'm the same. I promise. Nothing has really changed." she said backing away slightly.

Jennifer watched as Maggie did a flip over her and landed on her feet. Her fists instantly clenched as she crouched ready to attack. Maggie wasn't her sister any more. She was just a bloodsucking monster now, one of the creatures that Jennifer dedicated her life to killing. Her sister had died that night, maybe not for real but she was dead to Jennifer. Her eyes stayed fixed on Maggie as a snarl escaped her lips. "Jenn!! Please...I'll leave you alone if that is what you want but I'm sure you just need to calm down take a few breaths and get a grip of yourself." Was this bitch really telling her what to do? After all these years Maggie honestly thought that she would actually listen to her? It wasn't going to happen. Not now, not ever.
Jennifer checked out Maggie's dark eyes and extended fangs before clenching her fists even tighter. This bitch was going down tonight. "Jenn...I'm the same. I promise. Nothing has really changed." Jenn tilted her head and laughed a little, "you're a stupid blonde bitch and that only adds to the fact that you're now a dumb bloodsucking freak. I loved you at one point but how can anyone love a monster? I certainly won't." Jennifer jumped over Maggie and landed on her feet before dropping down and spinning around with her leg stuck out, hoping to trip up her sister. Jennifer did a couple more flips before breaking a piece of wood and throwing both parts at Maggie.

Maggie dodged her once more as she tried hard to hold herself together. If she was going to break down then that only added to the chances of her getting hurt. She had to keep reminding herself that her sister was obviously consumed by anger and bitterness and what she was saying could not really be meant for her. At least that is what she though. "You can't really mean all that." she said dodging he pieces of wood and trying not to lose it. "So I'm a vampire....it doesn't make me any less of a sister Jenn. Take a few deep breathes and realize that!!!" she said with a slight growl.
Maggie wasn't sure how much longer she could keep this up. She knew the longer she stuck around the more likely she was probably going to get hurt. As much as maggie wanted to think her sister was just momentarily out of her mind....she could see how deep the hate seemed to be. It made her wonder if they would ever be sisters again. Trying to reason with her was probably pointless. But as Jenn spat different words at her she felt her heart slowly breaking and slowing her down...almost paralyzing her so that she couldn't just walk away.

"You can't really mean all that." Jennifer shook her head slightly and raised an eyebrow as she stared at the vampire. Right now she was pretty close to just jumping over there and staking the bitch... But what was stopping her? She could have done it at any moment yet she had just decided to shout and throw things, almost like she was giving this leech the chance to run and keep her life. That wasn't Jenn. Not one bit. "So I'm a vampire....it doesn't make me any less of a sister Jenn. Take a few deep breathes and realize that!!!" Jennifer cracked her neck slightly before doing a few more back flips so that she was at the end of the row of shops, her eyes fixed on Maggie. She had been given a chance, now it was to show why she was infamous in most countries.
Jennifer crouched slightly and then ran in the direction of the person that had been her sister, using her powers to give her a speed boost and make it seem like she was just gliding along the roofs of the shops. Then when she got close enough she leapt in the air and threw fireballs at Maggie before landing behind her and wrapping her arm around Maggie's throat, "you wasted your chance Maggie. You could have lived." Jennifer threw her sister off the roof before jumping down and landing firmly on her feet, inches away from her sister. Jenn smiled as she picked up the stake she had tried to throw at Maggie earlier and as she twirled it in her hand she spoke with a harsh voice, "I wasn't asked to stay with the wolves in Scotland for nothing. I've got quite a reputation in Europe, with most species. Snow the Vampire Slayer. Not that fond of it but whatever works for them. As long as I get to do my job they can call me whatever pleases their tiny little minds."
Her eyes fixed on Maggie, "now we get on to you. Seeing as though you're already dead to me, it doesn't matter how this is done but allow me to show you how powerful I am." Her eyes turned black as the sea began to crash against the pier more violently, thunder rumbling in the night sky as Jennifer raised the hand that wasn't holding the stake inches in front of her, a cold laugh escaped her ruby red lips as she used her power to create a connection to Maggie's mind, making her feel a sharp pain all over her body as images of the people that she loves the most dying in her arms appear in her thoughts. Jennifer really was demonstrating her true power and only the cruellest of things would make her satisfied. As the images kept playing over and over in Maggie's mind, Jennifer let out a cold laugh, the power she had only growing as she used it.
