Visceral slowly slid from tree to tree. His change had come and gone, the beginning of it being a mere six days ago. While he was 'Vision', his wolf, he acted the part of Alpha. He had roamed the woods for the three days of the change, rooting out each and every natural predator's den within a ten mile radius of the small hill he deemed a perfect 'den'. The place he would have a pack house built. Once he had rooted out any opposition's den, he had slaughtered the inhabitants, from elderly dam to mere pup, kit, or kitten. It would not do to have any predators. If they were not home, he'd preform the act he loved most. The hunt. He was fairly certain that no natural predators, nor any humans came to the place he had claimed by the time he was done.
He had rubbed against the trees in a rough circle around his new home, marking it as his, one of the biggest baddest predators that could be found anywhere in the world. It would pose as a warning to other predators that the area was claimed, keeping any that had escaped his attentions out of the area for good. The markings were made far enough apart from each other though that the duller scented prey of the forest should slip in since there was an apparent power vacuum. That would keep any that decided to join his pack sated during the change, and keep them away from humans... hopefully. He could influence them of course during the full moon, but he would rather that they not want or need human flesh to begin with of course.
With his hand on a tree, he froze, lifting his face to the wind. He smelled... something. Neither human nor were, something.. else. She was still far off, but coming close to the territory. Not many weres, let alone humans had his nose, and it was just a slight tendril of color, wafting on the wind in his direction. Turning, he followed the tendril, taking much care to be as silent as he could. When he was not in wolf form, he usually failed at stealth, missing the big picture because he could not see, but he did a mediocre job this time around instead of a poor one. But of course when he was just within normal hearing distance of the originator of the scent he stepped heavily on a small branch buried in years of leaves. Sounding like a spinal cord crumpling beneath powerful jaws, all the birds exploded into flight and he froze, just within sight of the woman.

It probably would have been smarter to walk though the woods as an animal, but right now Jordan's heads was in the clouds. The need to go and walk in the forest was automatic to her. Her encounter with Emma was on her mind. She couldn't shake it from here no matter how hard she tried. She had never felt this was before and it was only nautral for her to come to the woods to do some thinking about it all. The woods was where she always went...but she had been so deep in thought that she had failed to realized she hadn't shifted. It wasn't till a sound snapped her back into reality.
Her heart pounded as she lifted her head automatically recognizing the scent to be that of a were. She had had an encounter not too long ago with one...any form Jordan took lead to the possibility could be tossed around like a toy poodle when up against a were. The strength of a shifter was almost nothing compared to that of a were. Jordan's eyes locked with the beast as she took a step back before successfully tripping over a few branches. It hurt like hell and she could smell that she was bleeding but she continued to scoot backwards. she didn't really want to find out if the were was friendly or not, to be honest she knew that she probably would be too scared to shift into anything.

Visceral had never met this kind of breed of biped, he knew that for sure, and she smelled faintly like predator. A new predator in his woods just after his total massacre of the natural ones was not a good sign. Well she wasn't quite in his woods yet, but she seemed to be headed that way. She obviously could not be a were of any type because when a claim was staked for a plot of land, they would know it well away from the borders, further away than this one was. Which meant that either she was completely distracted, or her senses were not to were par.
Then he smelled it, fear. He heard it as well, a rapid, straining heart. He tensed, on the brink of pouncing. If her next action was to flee, he would have almost no choice but to hunt, as no matter how much she smelled of predator, the fear made her prey. Fleeing would be the last straw and Vision would insist, even against Visceral's protests. His voice, strained with the effort to hold back, rumbled with the odd starts and stops of his native accent. "I heard.. you fall. Are you.. alright?" he said just a bare instant after she had tripped. His hand flew to his mouth, teeth gripped on his index finger's knuckle then as a slight growl erupted from his lips. Crimson waves of scent washed over him pumping in time with her pulse. Pain, not enough to crack the knuckle or break the skin, but it was enough to clear his mind enough not to pounce on the smell of fear and blood.

She was speechless as she slowly picked herself back up. The only thing that could be heard was the beating of her heart...it seemed to be speeding up as she realized that she was ultimately in danger. Her lips parted slightly as she took a deep breath and tried to pull herself together. " I...I think I'm ok..."Her eyes never left him as she felt her wound slightly healing. Every bone in her body wanted to run, she knew she needed to get away but the fear was consuming her. She didn't think she stood a chance. Jordan wasn't exactly the most confident of people either.
Without much warning, as if her body was taking control she felt her muscles tense before landed on all fours. A small red fox was now looking back at Visceral before it darted off in the oppisote direction. She had managed to work herself up so much that she shifted out of pure fear. As she ran she couldn't help but think that the Were would be coming after her....she knew this was a stupid thing to do. Running was the worse thing to do in any situation with a Were, but yet she was running and she couldn't seem to stop herself.

One-one thousand. Visw shook visibly with the effort to contain Vision. "PREY!" the wolf screamed at him. He gripped the bark of the tree that was nearby, his fully human hands scoring deep furrows in the trunk. Standing in place, he closed his eyes, which had crackled to his wolf's striated sizzling golden hues. His hand slid down the tree as he tried to reason with his wolf that what he had seen was human.
Two-one thousand. "NOT HUMAN, WE HUNT!" this was bad. If he allowed Vision in the forefront, he would demand a shift. If he denied the hunt, Vision would force the issue. He just hoped the prey was not bolting for human territory. His grip loosened on the trunk of the tree and he crouched, taking in the apricot colored scent. Now that he had her scent, barring natural desasters, he would be able to find her wherever she ran.
Three-one thousand. He was off. Bursting into motion from his coiled position, he moved. dodging rocks, stumps and limbs with the grace of a hunting wolf, he followed the little predator's scent. Using nearly ten foot bounding strides he was on the hunt.

No matter how fast she ran she couldn't help but feel she wasn't running fast enough. Jordan knew she was out of her mind there was no way she could outrun a were. It wasn't long before she felt her paws leave the ground as she turned into wings. Jordan tried hard to dodge the trees, her mind was a mess and it was hard to think. Turning into a sparrow probably wasn't the best of choices either, but she was too confused and scared to focus on anything she was shifting into. Frantically she flapped her wings as she weaved in and out of the trees. Jordan hit the ground as she found herself shifting back into her normal fox form. Shifting into anything else was now impossible, she couldn't focus anymore.
She found herself tripping over branches, her pace slowing as she continued to run into things. The only thing going through her mind in that moment was Emma. She was scared that she would never see her face again. At this point Jordan was convinced that she stood no chance against the were. At any minute she would be caught up to and forced to face what she thought would be her death.

Visceral puffed air as he skidded to a halt. The trail had ended abruptly and there was a wafting smell of overturned earth where it petered out. A fact about humans that most don't realize. They don't look up. Luckily for him, he wasn't human, nor could he even 'look' if he tried. A scent pattern caught his attention though in his sphere of awareness. It was almost nothing like the one he had been following. Almost, but no cigar. There was the underlying smell of... whatever it was that the girl was. Not Were but not Human either, and definitely not avian.
The trail of it hung on the trees, from one to another in a path that was in the same direction he had been headed. The scent jumped in the direction the wind was blowing but the trees were close enough together that he could follow the thin thread of near-bird scent to where there was overturned earth again. The bird had landed... or crashed here and moved on. When he was mere yards away from his flagging quarry he leapt, using a downed log for extra leverage to be put into his jump. He flew at the bare minimum fifty feet, to land in front of his quarry and give him enough time to turn and calm himself enough to keep from pouncing on the tiny canine.
"Caught... You" His voice was breathless and filled with excitement. "Stop running... and change back... I can't help but... chase... when you run!" He grinned when he said that, his partially shifted golden eyes slightly above and to the left of the creature, though his nose was directly toward the orangeish aura of... whatever it was that she was.

Like she had expected the beast caught back up to her. What she didn't expect was the fact that he wasn't going to rip her to pieces. Jordan lifted her head slightly and looked at the creature as she tried to catch her breath. She felt slightly stupid for running away from him. Of course he was going to chase her that was instinct. Her fur changed back to skin before she rose to her feet, her eyes still fixed on her pursuer. "I'm sorry. I'm not used to these kind of encounters." she apologized softly lowering her head. She was still very much frightened but it was a relief that she wasn't being torn in two like she thought she would be. "My name is Jordan." she said trying to take her mind off of the her nervousness.
"I didn't mean to disturb you. I was only lost in my thoughts. Believe me if I was aware this was your territory I wouldn't have gone any where near it. I wasn't aware that your kind was in the area." a flood of words came out withing a matter of seconds. She wondered if Vis would even be able to understand her with how fast she was talking. It was a nervous habit of hers, she either couldn't speak at all or she spoken way too fast.
