Heathcliffe walked out of the door to his study and stood at the top of the grand staircase, looking at the humand servants walking around downstairs. They were his humans. Well, his and his wife's. But still, it felt good to be in control of some of the human population. A smile appeared on his face as he almost glided down the stairs, grabbing a bottle of champagne from one of the human waitors and then throwing it at the wall, "we do not drink your filthy drinks here. Me and the lady are pure and only drink the wine of the living." He pushed the human away and the continued walking throught the downstairs hall.
Finally he came to the dining room and he pushed open the doors and stepped inside, figuring his wife was probably in there somewhere. If not then who cared, he'd find her later. "Can you believe that one of those filthy half-breeds out there tried giving me champagne? I will not tolerate it!" Heathcliffe sat down and grabbed the newspaper from one of his servants, "oh look at that, my old friend Luke made the news. Kicked a crucifix of a church apparently and the Catholics aren't too pleased. My, my, such a naughty boy." He turned to the next page, "did I ever tell you about the time we shot a German bastard in the head and then drained him. Serves him right. You should never try to kill a vampire with a knife."

"Can you believe that one of those filthy half-breeds out there tried giving me champagne? I will not tolerate it!" Corbin looked up from the book she was reading with a sigh. There really wasn't much to do as a queen. She certainly wasn't going to get her hands dirty and hunt. That's what the humans were for. "I don't mind the wine. Taste good with a little bit of blood. Vaguely reminds me of my human years." she said a little bitterly as her eyes wandered back to her book. As much as she wanted to lie to herself that she loved this life without question, there was a part of her that wanted to turn back time. Miserable as her human life was, she missed it. To be able to walk in the sun, not have to worry about being burnt to the crisp. There were things she never was going to be able to see again. She had been forced to live this life.
Corbin gave a slight roll of her eyes as she heard her husband ramble on about some brutal killing none the less. Corbin hated when he did that. She knew violence was pretty much unavoidable now though because she needed to do it in order to eat but she wasn't big when it came to senseless killing. Corbin much rather preferred enjoying the fourteen and luxury of the life before her along with occasionally enforcing the laws. She enjoyed the power of it, more then she ever thought she would.

Perhaps rambling on about nothing wasn't the best of ideas but Heathcliffe was angry and as stressed as possible for a vampire. He needed to feed and he wanted a bit of time with his wife. Ever since that night he had turned her she had changed. Corbin seemed a little distant now, caught up in her emotions, and he didn't like that. No, Heathcliffe wanted a wife that would love him. So as he flicked through the newspaper and read the articles he wondered what he could do to take Corbin's attention off of the human ascpect of life, the boring part before you became a God amongst the living.
Finally finishing with the paper he passed it to one of the servants, then looked over at Corbin. She had fascinated him since the day they had met, was it any wonder why he had changed her? Well, he had changed her because she had rejected him when finding out what he was, but still. He loved her now and that was all that mattered. Heathcliffe would fight to the death to protect his woman and he always would. He respected her and cared about her. Plus she was beautiful and well mannered for a queen.
He stood up and slowly walked to her, his feet gliding along the ground, "how is my wife today? Doing well?" He leaned down and kissed her soft lips before standing behind her, his hands on her shoulders. Smiling, Heathcliffe began to massage her neck and shoulders, "we need to lose some of this tension my dear, it's not doing either of us any good."

Corbin closed her eyes as she welcomed her husbands massage. It was true that she was really stressed. Battling between her killer instincts and her humanity was really starting to take its toll on her. "It's not like we are exactly running a lemonade stand Heath...we rule all of New Jersey." she said with a slight sigh as she placed her book down before looking up at him and giving him a kiss. Slowly she was learning to love him...and of course her new life. She didn't see any reason why she should miss her human life of misery but she did every now and then. There was a point in time that she was utterly disgusted by Heath. In all reality he wasn't a bad guy. He just had a temper...one that had changed her life forever.
"What do we need to get done in the next few days?" Corbin was sure that there was tons of stuff to do. It always seemed like there was some new problem surfacing because some vampire was digging there noise into something they weren't supposed to. That was the only thing that made her hate this job. Having to deal with all the rules and politics of it all was very tiring. However when Corbin wasn't battling with her human emotions she did enjoy punishing those that decided to go up against the laws that were laid out for them.

"It's not like we are exactly running a lemonade stand Heath...we rule all of New Jersey." He thought for a moment as he continued to massage her shoulders, not paying attention to her sigh and the fact she put her book down. It wasn't until he felt her lips against his that he snapped back to reality and looked at her, knowing that although she was conflicted now, one day she would be a great vampire queen. His eyes stared into hers as he remembered how she had been when she had found out he was a vampire. Heathcliffe had turned her in quite a violent way, and Corbin hadn't really deserved it to be that harsh. She had just angered him and there was always a price to pay when angering the monarchy.
"What do we need to get done in the next few days?" Heathcliffe narrowed his eyes slightly as he examined his wife, seeing the tension still there inside her. She was conflicted and Heathcliffe didn't like that. "Some vampires have been causing trouble. A girl with fiery hair, my old friend Luke and his little creation. They need to be punished at some point. Of course there's also the shifters, they need to know who runs this town." Heathcliffe stopped talking and grabbed one of the servants, throwing him towards his wife. "We need our strength." He grabbed another servant and violently bit into her neck, much like he had done when turning Corbin.

"Some vampires have been causing trouble. A girl with fiery hair, my old friend Luke and his little creation. They need to be punished at some point. Of course there's also the shifters, they need to know who runs this town." Shortly after Corbin's attention was caught by her husband's words, a warm body was thrown into her arms. She lifted her head, watching in horror as she witnessed her husband violently biting into one of the servants necks. The smell of blood was strong, so much in fact that her fangs instantly extended before she felt her lips tasting the warm blood of her victim before snapping their neck and flinging them into the wall. She collapsed on the ground balling and utterly confused on what exactly was going on. Her human emotion were driving her wild, the memories of her transformation flooding her mind as blood dripped from her lips. She had managed to turn her confusion into blood thirst before crumbling at the mercy of her humanity.
"I'm dealing with my red headed creation....as for the luke and his creation we should pay them a visit. I'll deal with Luke and you can deal with Maggie. The shifters we will discuss further." she said looking up at him in utter agony. Corbin had figured if she tried to discuss business with him she could over power the emotions she was disparately fighting at that very second. She tried to stand up but only fell back down as she dug her hands into the carpet and allowed the blood to drip from her lips, letting out a cry of agony. "It's no use....get it out of me!!!" she cried.

Heathcliffe felt satisfaction as he drained the servant and then threw their body to the floor. His head turned slightly and he watched his wife do the same to the servant she had. Corbin had the potential to be a great queen, Heathcliffe knew that, it was just a case of training her to let go off her human instincts. A low growl escaped his lips as he watched her crumble, her humanity clearly getting the better of her. "I'm dealing with my red headed creation... As for the Luke and his creation we should pay them a visit. I'll deal with Luke and you can deal with Maggie. The shifters we will discuss further." Heathcliffe nodded in agreement and stared at Corbin as she tried to fight her human feelings and as he did, his eyes showed the anger he was feeling.
"It's no use... Get it out of me!!!" He circled her slowly, his eyes never looking away from her, "you need to face it sooner or later, my dear. The more you resist, the deeper it burns into you. Embrace what you are. Become a goddess in the eyes of humanity!" Heathcliffe stepped closer to her and held out his hand, "accept your fate and rule with me. I would hate to have to kill the woman I love." His eyes grew darker as they burned with rage, wanting to kill the humanity he saw inside his wife.

"You need to face it sooner or later, my dear. The more you resist, the deeper it burns into you. Embrace what you are. Become a goddess in the eyes of humanity! Accept your fate and rule with me. I would hate to have to kill the woman I love." Corbin lifted her eyes as a few tears began to roll down her cheek. "You wouldn't kill me would you?" she said in almost a whisper wondering if her husband really would depose of her if she couldn't control things. As much as she hated this life some days, she didn't want to be killed off. It was hard enough dealing with her humanity and the fact that she now was somewhat of a monster...it was another thing to picture the man she was growing to love murdering her because she couldn't carry out her duties.
Her fangs extended as she licked the rest of the blood from her lips. She would not be able to understand why she had been turned in the first place or what seemed to draw Heath to her when she was human. In her opinion there really wasn't anything that was good about her...at least when she was human. Now of course she held power and was stronger then she had ever been before....at least when her emotions weren't going into overdrive.

Heathcliffe watched the tears run down his wife's cheek, "you wouldn't kill me would you?" Her voice was almost a whisper but he heard it and as he did so he stepped away from her and walked down the room to where the window was. His eyes focused on the night sky as he thought about things. Over his lifetime he had only ever loved one person besides himself, that person was Corbin. He had started falling for her when she was human but the love became clear when he had turned her. A sigh escaped his lips as he turned to face his wife, his feet gliding along the floor as he walked back to her.
His cold eyes fixed on her as she licked the blood from her lips. "I kill the vampires that go against the monarchy, the ones that don't obey the rules and the ones that don't deserve this life." He held out his hand to her again as a small smile appeared on his face, "the love between an husband and a wife is one that should be strong. They should stand together. The fact that we are the monarchy of the vampires means that we need to show solidarity and be respected by ourselves as well as others. Take my hand and embrace what you have become."

Corbin took his hand hesitantly as a few more tears ran down her cheek. She wanted to overcome everything so badly but as of right now it seemed like her humanity was getting the best of her. "I'll embrace it to my best ability." she said softly as she looked into his eyes. She closed her eyes as she began to pull herself together. It took only but a few minutes before she was peering back into her husbands eyes, her own dark as her fangs extended. "We need to show a few vampires their place...we can't have these killings getting out of hand Heath. she said with a low growl as her mind wandered from her emotions to the things both of them needed to accomplish.
"Tell me everything that those being questioned are guilty of. We need to pay a few of them some visits." she smirked before giving him a kiss. "It feels good to be back in control." Corbin smiled as she ran the back of her hand down his cheek. "We have a lot to do babe...I hope you know that."

As she took his hand Heathcliffe smiled and helped her up, his eyes watching the blood tears pour down her cheeks. "I'll embrace it to my best ability." He nodded as she spoke softly and stared into his eyes, he stared back until she closed hers, at that point he moved a little closer to her and waited. It wasn't long before she opened them, both of their eyes cold as his wife extended her fangs. "We need to show a few vampires their place... We can't have these killings getting out of hand Heath." Heathcliffe nodded again, he agreed with her on this, they did have to show the vampires that the monarchy was still strong and they wouldn't take anyone messing things up for their kind.
"Tell me everything that those being questioned are guilty of. We need to pay a few of them some visits." He was about to answer when she kissed him, he put his hands on her waist as he kissed her back. "It feels good to be back in control." His wife touched his cheek and he smiled. "We have a lot to do babe... I hope you know that." Heathcliffe stared into Corbin's eyes as he pulled her body closer to his, his hands still on her waist. "I am aware that we have a lot to do, Corbin. It is the King's duty to know what is going on. I am surprised that I had to inform you about your creation's little mess up."His lips pressed against hers gently before he pulled back again and stared into her eyes once more, this time his eyes were the shade of blue that they had been when he was human rather than the dark colour they were when he was angry. His eyes showed love for his wife instead of agression.
"Your little creation was caught feeding from another vampire's human. She as gone against one of the rules of our kind. Normally that would mean she goes in front of a magister, but considering the monarchy is here, we have no need for one. We, or should I say you, will deal with her." He paused and kissed her again, "as for my old friend and his creation, they have been killing far too many humans and it is starting to be noticed. They need to be warned."
