Alex walked up to the clubs doors rather pissed off and ready for alcohol. Her resent encounter with the vampire Luke had left her in pain and very confused. She still didn’t understand how he went from wanting to kill her to kissing her. The thought of the whole event made her want to touch her head and her lips at the same time. ”And this is why you’re at a club, Alex.” She mumbled to herself. ”No matter how many shots it takes we are going to make the pain and wanting go away.” Though she mostly wanted the pain to go away, because even though she could heal most wounds quickly these ones had broken a few ribs and there for took quite a bit longer to stop being painful. She figured that’s what she got for messing with an already pissed off vampire, not that she had learnt her lesson or anything.
Sighing she showed her ID card to the bouncer before walking in through the doors and heading straight to the bar. ”A round of vodka shots please.” She said waving her hand at the bar tender. She wasn’t sure what she was hoping to get from coming here, but drunk and a guy to take home and have fun with didn’t sound like too bad of a plan. When the first shot got set down in front of her she wasted no time in lifting it and tossing the liquid into her mouth, a satisfied purr rose from her throat as she felt the burning of the alcohol running down. Oh, yes tonight was going to be an interesting one. Downing the next few shots that were set down in front of her Alex leaned back happy to be finally getting a slight buzz off of them.

Brodir decided to head to a local human club to get a lay of the land, club wise. Ambrosia should be opening soon and he wanted to be prepared for how it might be. He wasn't too worried but this club could also be competition, know thy enemy was a motto he existed by. He got inside the club without much trouble, and he didn't even have to glamour anyone. I guess I am still considered handsome by humans, even in this age. Attractive people seem to get preferential treatment in this modern age, good for me I guess Brodir thought. I wonder if I'm dressed well enough?, he thought. He was wearing his usual stand by outfit of a pair of dark blue jeans, a purple dress shirt, and black leather jacket. As he entered the door of the club the smell of so many humans grinding around instantly began to stir Brodir's hunger, he did his best to ignore it.
Brodir hasn't been much of a dancer since the eighteen hundreds, so he bypassed the dance floor. He looked around for a bit and decided that having a drink in his hand would help him blend in better. He really hasn't had to blend since the Great Revelation, but he didn't feel like attracting a crowd of vampire groupies. As Brodir approached the bar he caught a non-human scent among the many others floating about. Brodir followed it to a young woman at the bar, as he got closer he thinks he identifies it a shifters scent. Hmm, he thinks, haven't seen a shifter in a while, then again they seem to be pretty elusive. He walks up to the bar besides the woman, noticing empty shot glasses.
"Barkeep, another round for the lady please," Brodir puts a hundred on the bar and says, "and keep them coming, if she so desires." Brodir gives a slight smile to the woman, "I hope you don't mind me buying you a round or two?"

Shifting slightly on the stool Alex finished the last few shot glasses that the bartender put down in front of her before digging her wallet out of her pocket and setting bills on the counter. ”Will that cover it?” She asked, getting a nod in return as the guy grabbed the money and walked away. Putting her arms up on the counter Alex rested her head on them debating wither or not to go and dance. Of course that was half of the reason she had come here but she still didn’t feel like she had enough of a buzz to get off the stool and ‘bust a move’. Even looking around it seemed like most of the males populating the club were either already with girls or were way younger than her, some even made her wonder how they got in the club in the first place.
Hearing someone walking towards her Alex lifted her head a bit just enough to see a man stop because her. Vampire...” She decided after sniffing the air a bit. When he offered to buy her drinks she almost raised an eyebrow. ”Well, that all depends on what the catch is.” She replied a sly smile taking over her lips. As the bartender set another glass in front of her she picked it up and toasted towards him before tipping it back into her mouth. Sliding one down the bar to where he stood she looked over at him. ”Care to join?” Alex asked rather simply, finally she had found someone who she could actually have some fun with, or well, he found her.

Brodir's own smile widened a bit, "The catch is of course, a little polite conversation." Brodir wondered from her second question whether or not she had sniffed him out as a vampire. "No thanks, vodka is not my poison of choice, but I will be happy to pay for the pleasure of watching you drink." He wasn't sure of the full capabilities of shifters, but keene senses in human form were common amongst werewolves. He was going to assume she knew what he was, just to be on the cautious side.
"So I believe a customary question is, what brings such a lovely young woman such as yourself here this evening?" He figured he would stick to the basics for now with her, until he gauged her personality. Brodir wonders if he can get her to tell him more about shifters. But first he is going to ask her the most obvious question he can think of, "So, may I ask you your name?"

”Well, then of course I accept.” She smiled at him, this had to be the easiest alcohol she had every got, and it wasn’t like he was a sore to the eyes. Smirking at him she laughed a little. ”I figured that, but hey it was worth a try.” Alex was a little disappointed that her speech hadn’t began to slur yet, but at least her mouth was going slightly numb, which meant she was getting somewhere close to being drunk. ”Ha-ha, my thanks go out to you then.” She said as she picked up another shot, she knew she should stop soon since someone had actually approached her to talk but she couldn’t quite get herself to.
Picking up the shot glass she showed it to him to answer his question. ”I would give some elaborate story as to what brought me here but it pretty much sums up to the alcohol. What about yourself? No offence but you don’t really seem like the type to be hanging around at a human club.” It was such a normal question for guys to ask girls and Alex found herself smiling a bit, it amused her slightly. ”Can’t see why not, name’s Alex.” Pausing she looked him over. ”But I do believe I remember you from a poster for an opening club I saw. Brodir, right?”

"Well, alcohol sounds as good a reason as any to me." Brodir wondered how much experience this shifter has had with other vampires, many of the other shifters he'd met didn't give him this much of their time. Brodir smiles again at her next question, "No offense taken, I'm here to do some research." Brodir gives her a once over saying, "I'm glad I chose tonight, I think I have found something new to research."
Brodir was happy Alex was not afraid to give him her name, good I like bravery in people, Brodir thought. "Alex, such a noble name, and quite beautiful when its the name of a woman." Brodir was a little put off by her next comment, "Yes you are correct, I am Brodir." Brodir hadn't been aware or informed that he was on a poster. He needed to talk to the humans involved with Ambrosia again, then again he was the one that told them to leave him alone, careful what you ask for. Oh well, Brodir thought, he has a new companion to occupy his time."So tell me, what does a shifter do for fun?"

My type of person.” She said cheerfully looking over at him. She knew very well he was one of the old vampires around these parts, but from what she heard he was quite nice. So she didn’t think she had anything to worry about as far as that went, though she was sure she would still manage to piss him off somewhat, it was after all one of her best talents. Nodding to his answer Alex took another shot. ”Hm, scoping out your clubs competition? I heard it is going to be a huge opening, it’s the talk of the town, at least on your side of things.” She didn’t actually want to say on the ‘vampire’ side of things in case it caught the attention of some annoying human. Which she would like to avoid as long as she could when it came to talk about vampires, they were always so noisy and wanted to know everything.
Laughing at the next part of his sentence she smirked at him. ”Oh and what would this new research project of yours be?” Looking up she saw the bartender set another few shots in front of her. ”Guess everyone wants me to get drunk tonight.” Picking up a glass she twirled the liquid inside it a bit, listening to him speak at the same time. ”Well, that has to be the most charming thing someone has said about my name in a long time.” She knew she should tell him that it wasn’t her real name, but she didn’t like to tell people if it could be avoided. Alex noticed he was a little surprised when she mentioned the poster. ”Were you not informed of it?” She asked figuring she knew the answer. ”In any case, it’s nice to meet you, Brodir, and thanks again for the drinks, they’re much needed.”
Turning herself so she was fully facing him Alex smirk. ”For me? Well, I do lots of things, it all depends on the mood I’m in and who happens to be around.” Leaving that for him to interpret whatever way he wanted to Alex took the shot that she still had in her hand.

Brodir smirked at her last comment, it was just vague enough to be provocative. So apparently shifters, or at least this one, like to play, thats ok, Brodir is in the mood to play too. "You know with comments like that, a guy could become really sure of his chances."
Brodir finally orders a Dos Equis, to better blend in, plus he can at least pretend to share a drink with Alex. "I better pretend drink faster, I think I need to catch up", he says motioning to the empty shot glasses. He puts another hundred on the bar, and tells the bartender to keep whatever Alex doesn't spend. "So how much of a tip do you think the bartender will get", Brodir says, indirectly asking how much Alex plans to drink. Not that he minds how much she drinks, he finds intoxicated people fun, for the most part. He just doesn't wants to see her overdue it, he'd hate for this night to end with a trip to the hospital for alcohol poisoning. Brodir hates the hospital, every time he has brought someone in they've assumed he has hurt them. Please Brodir thought, if he had decided to hurt someone, a hospital could help them, and he certainly would be the one to bring them in.
"So how good would you say my chances are?" Brodir says in a playful manner, deciding to see how the direct approach works on Alex.

Laughing Alex looked over to him. ”Well, a guy can think whatever he wants, doesn’t mean anything is for sure going to happen.” Winking at him she spoke in a joking matter, she liked this vampire, he defiantly had an interesting sense of humour and Alex liked that. Picking up another shot she debated drinking or not, she had come here to get drunk but she wasn’t sure if she really wanted to risk anything when this vampire was here. Setting it back down she sighed. ”Aha, yeah I’ve got quite a bit on you already.” Grinning she spun a little on the stool she was defiantly getting a buzz now.
Watching him as he set another hundred on the bar Alex pulled out her wallet and handed the bar tender her card. ”I can get the tab now, I think you’ve paid for enough.” She laughed, sliding his money back towards his hand. ”I’ll have a glass of raspberry cooler now.” Deciding it was best to get away from the vodka shots Alex waiting for her drink to be set in front of her. When it was she picked it up and took a small sip. ”Not terrible.” She decided to herself setting it back down.
”I don’t judge chances until the nights over.” Winking she took another sip from her drink. She wasn’t really sure what she felt like doing tonight, but she figured she’d know before her brain died from all the alcohol.

Brodir liked this shifter, she seemed to have an answer for everything. It was not all that often that he was impressed by a person's quick wit these nights, meaning of course that most people these nights lacked wit of any kind. Brodir also liked the fact that she winked too, not many vampires seemed to wink. Then again it was a chore sometimes for vampires to remember to blink, as they no longer did so involuntarily.
"I wish you would let me cover your tab", Brodir said leaning a little closer to Alex. "Its not like a vampire has many expenses. I only drink one thing, that I don't always pay for, I don't drive very often so I don't pay for much gasoline. I also don't use the air conditioner or heat at my place." Brodir thought that was enough examples to get the point across. "Actually you'll find most vampires my age have to try to find ways to spend the money we tend to accumulate. I think thats why philanthropy is so common among us older vampires, we literally have nothing else to spend our money on. Also please don't take my comments as me being a braggart about my own financial status, older vampires such as myself just tend to, as I said, accumulate money." Brodir thought he would let her consider that, while also hoping that he hadn't inadvertently insulted her. Some people get touchy about the subject of money, and also about their own independence Brodir noticed.
After listening to Alex's response, Brodir decided to change the subject matter. "So tell me Alex, I'm curious, what is it like to be a shifter?"

Alex was slightly surprised when he leaned closer to her but she couldn’t help but smile. ”It’s a very nice offer, but I’m going to have to decline. Sometimes a girl’s got to pay for her own alcohol.” She said laughing a bit. ”But, it is very nice for you to offer, so thank-you.” Finishing she listened to him talk about how he doesn’t have to pay for much. ”True, I have to pay for almost all those things. But still, I do believe you’ve paid for enough, I have no idea how much this costs, I’ve never really came to this club before.” She replied gesturing to the empty shot glasses that the bartender was cleaning up before she shrugged.
At his next comment she grinned a little. ”Very true, I’ve heard that before. I myself have quite a few expenses for my cost of living, which you have probably never had.” She shrugged. ” Times have changed, but ha-ha don’t worry even if I had thought you were flaunting your money I wouldn’t have cared. I have enough to get by and that’s all that matters, if people have extra I congratulate them.” She said it all lightly, she really wasn’t one to care if people started bragging about things they had, she actually normally just rolled her eyes and listened to them if half an ear. But in this case she knew that Brodir was just trying to prove his point and she had to agree with him, old vampires really didn’t have anything to spend money on.
When he changed the subject Alex figured had gone across in the rightish way. Deciding to leave it at that she went if the changed subject. ”Well, I guess it’s pretty cool, depending on your view of things. I have to say it’s pretty great to be able to just change into an animal and get by someone if you didn’t want to talk to them.” Laughing a little Alex grinned towards him. ”Though I suppose you just keep walking or tell them to go away when you don’t want to talk to someone.” She joked, though it was also possible for her to just tell people to go away it would be considered very rude since everyone would just think she was human, but them again it would blend in with how every other human of this generation acted.

Brodir was delighted with Alex thus far, she was witty as well as practical on certain matters. Perhaps I have actually made a new friend, Brodir thought. He also liked the fact that she was open to talking about her being a shifter, Brodir did enjoy learning about the other magical creatures of the world. It was one of the few passions he had these nights that got him this excited, not that he would let it show.
Brodir shared Alex's grin as he said, "Well I mostly ignore people who bother me, but I have been known to tell people to go away, as politely as possible of course." Brodir leaned closer to Alex once again and whispered, "But between you and I, a few veiled threats may have escaped my lips... for those I found particularly annoying." Brodir enjoyed leaning close to Alex, so her scent could fill his senses, partly for the simple fact that her scent helped drown out the scents of the writhing humans on the dance floor.
Brodir began to realize how foolish it had been for him to have not fed before coming here, he considered ordering a TruBlood. Although he was unsure if it would bother his new companion or not. Since she was willing to talk he didn't wish to disturb her with his feeding habits. He decided to keep asking questions to distract himself from his hunger.
"So when you change, do you instinctively know how the animal moves, or is there a learning curve. For example, is it difficult to learn to fly as a bird or run on all fours?"

”Yes, of course, we wouldn’t want to be rude.” She said grinning towards him; she was actually enjoying this vampires company. And she had to applaud herself, she hadn’t pissed him off yet, now that had to be a new record. When he leaned close to her and whisper in her ear she let out a burst of laughter. ”Well, I wouldn’t have expected any less, someone just need a little extra encouragement to leave others the hell alone.” Picking up her drink she took another sip, watching him with playful eyes as he just held his. ”Can vampires drink other things? I have always wondered that...Like can you but you just don’t need to? Or is it like bad for you or something?” Alex asked well trying to figure it out herself, she had never actually seen a vampire drinking or eating anything other than blood, but she figured it was possible.
Pondering his next question Alex wondered how she should reply. She would have thought that when a vampire was as old as him that he would have known all about all the other species that roamed the world, but she had never been a very good guesser. ”Well, for me it’s mostly I know how they move; I usually observe animals before I change into them, but I guess for those who just try it out it would be harder. For stupider shifters who just want to start shifting into ever animal I would say there is a learning curve.” She laughed at the last part, she had actually seen a shifter just randomly shifting into animals and trying them out, now that had been an incredibly funny day for her. Though they didn’t find it so funny when they found her hiding and laughing in the bushes...Grinning at the memory Alex turned her attention back to Brodir and wondered if he was going to have anymore questions about shifters.

Brodir contemplated Alex's question, she was answering his, so he thought she deserved an honest response. Brodir moved his stool closer to Alex's and leaned in again, partially because of the personal nature of his response and partially because he once again wanted to use Alex's scent to help mask that of the humans in the club. Not to mention the fact that he actually enjoyed her scent.
Alex's scent was hard for him to describe. Her scent was strong but not in a bad way. She smelled like animals, but not those dirty animal odors, or their bad breathe. She smelled clean, like a freshly bathed kitten or fawn. There were also human scents in there too, again it was hard to describe. But of course through all of this he could smell her blood. The hunger again, just answer her question, Brodir thought to himself.
"To answer your question, no we cannot eat or drink other things. People tend to assume we only drink blood, but that is not accurate. What we are doing is feeding on life, and blood is life." Brodir continued, "Almost all human food and drink is actually dead or dying matter, vampires therefore cannot partake of it and tend to find human food repulsive." Brodir decided to try to find an analogy, "Think of a trip to the grocery store for a vampire, like a trip to the morgue would be for a human." Brodir let her digest this information.
"If you don't mind may I ask another question about shifters?", Brodir asked. "I have seen other shifters shift before, and it is incredibly fast. My question is... what does it feel like? What sensation comes over as you change, does it hurt, is it pleasurable?"

Alex eyed Brodir and wondered why he was taking so long to answer her question. ”Was it out of line?”
[/b] She thought to herself, she had never really had this close of a conversation with a vampire before so she didn’t really know what they were allowed to disuse and what was against their laws. Well she was still pondering this and hoping that she didn’t insult him in some way she noticed that he moved his stool closer again and leaned in. Just because she felt like it she leaned in a little too so that her eyes were levelled with his, she wasn’t sure why but she was actually interested in this vampire, but then again what vampire wasn’t she interested in? The thought made her laugh a little to herself. When he finally started speaking Alex nodded along to his words. ”Not what I had thought, but it does make sense. I a weird out there way it makes absolute sense.” She said a grin on her face and nodded to him when he added the thing about grocery shopping. ”Well, I have to say, I’m glad I can drink this and not be appalled. I would be rather sad if I couldn’t.” Alex said as she held up her cooler and took a sip. ”Let’s call this my blood.” She said jokingly taking another sip from her glass. ”Ask away, there’s not really much to know about us.” Alex wasn’t sure why she was answering all of his questions about shifters and she could only blame it on the alcohol, normally she would have told him to get his information elsewhere but when he said his question she found herself replying. ”Well, for me it is more of a pleasurable feeling, but when I first started shifting, it could be rather painful if I remember correctly. I think it just depended on how different my size was from that of the animal. But honestly I’ve never really talked to another shifter about it so I couldn’t tell you for sure.” She ended the sentence with a light shrug and took another sip of her drink.
