It was about that time…the air was rank with the smell of smoke, alcohol and food. The floors marked with endless footprints against the tan and highly glossy hardwood floor. The entire place seemed to be too quiet to believe, when this café was open it was lively but now there was just one boy. One boy standing in the middle of this huge mess that he would have to triumph in his lonesome. He peered to his left than to his right; he spun and simultaneously pulled off his apron and threw it. The chorus to Steady As She Goes(-The Raconteurs) blasted through the speakers and he threw the duster in his left hand towards the high vaulted ceiling and spun, before catching it. Following his freestyle choreography he started dusting to the beat of the song, singing along with some of the lyrics he knew and hummed the parts he didn’t.
Buffy was quite the character. He had already met three vampires, one who had tried to kill him on more than one occasion. The other who he was slowly falling for and the last he feared yet respected, and that was just the vampires. Thinking of Brodir gave him a slight chill down his spine and he bit his lip before he continued dancing. He had also met a whole pack of werewolves and even got ‘marked’ by one if that was at all possible. Something else was bothering him too, something that he could feel growing inside of him. At first he could listen to thoughts but now he found he could send thoughts too. He had briefly met a woman who gave him an overwhelming sense of comfort. He knew that he could trust her instantly and she made him feel incredibly safe. It was hard to explain but the trippy part was how she disappeared in the blink of an eye.
By the time Buffy collected his thoughts he was done with his work and the place was spotless. It was his first time closing and he was unsure about it at first but gave in to his boss. The light outside had stopped working last week when some drunkard hit it with his car and it was dark now. He was very tempted to call Brodir to come and walk home with him but his pride wouldn’t let him.
