There's a method in the madness}
❂ ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂
Gemma pulled her bag closer to her body, hunching her shoulders and taking quick steps, her heels tapping rabidly on the side walk as she rounded the corner. Only a few seconds behind her was a shadow, darker then the rest, following on silent feet. The trick to this was that you had to make you're self look like you didn't want to be seen, like you wanted nothing more then to be invisible. You made yourself small as possible and don't look behind you, you'd have to cock your head to the side and act as if you wanted to look, but didn't want to find out for sure what you already suspected, that you were being followed. Vamp's loved that, well, at least this particular type of Vampire. She'd done the same thing he was doing now just a few days ago. To make sure he was worthy of her knives. Though she had stayed further behind and down wind so that he would not catch her scent. Robert Mollow was just her type, preyed on the innocent, never leaving his meals alive. He was the type to play with his food.
She hid a smile as she turned another corner, she was on a roll tonight, two vampires down, Robert would be her third. She'd stop after him though, She wanted to get home to Georgie so she could put him to bed. Just two more blocks and she'd be at the spot she'd picked out. She could feel Robert moving closer, getting antsy. Looked like she wasn't going to make it to the forest, he'd jump her much before that. Gemma forced her breathing to accelerate, like she was panicking, and started to move faster. Just as she passed by an Alley way he made his move. Slapping his hand over her mouth, and pushing her further into the shadows.
She let him, wanting to be out of sight of any humans before she started resisting. 'Why do they always pick the Alley way, God, they are so predictable. Why can't they spice it up a bit, get some variety?' she wondered as he yanked her head to the side, baring her neck and pressing the front of his body up against her back, taking a deep breath. "'Oh no! please!' 'Oh god no,' 'Don't'..." She said in mono tone, mocking him, then as an after thought. "Oh and: 'Please have mercy.' That want you want to hear big guy?" She asked, tilting her head a bit to look him in the eye. He was so stunned that she wasn't reacting right, she could see the confusion in his eyes. Robert was rather new, only around 100 to 150 years old, so he would be only too easy to dispatch. "You're a sick B*st*rd Robert, you know that? You play with your victims, for hours sometimes before you lose it and bite. Now I'd love to do that to you, for all the people you've killed it would be justice, but I just don't have the time right now." Roberts eyes flashed dangerously, lunging towards her "You Bitc-" She twisted around, not waiting for him to finish, and punched him right in the stomach, her hand flashing up to slam the heel of her palm into his nose. Not so much for the pain factor, but to distract him for a bit and get him away from her neck.
Gemma could have easily used her powers to finish the vampire off quickly, but she didn't want to rely on her powers, she wanted to know that she could depend solely on her own strength and cunning. She only used her other powers if she had no other choice. It was a bit of a challenge she had given herself after she had been been purposely poisoned with lemon, it hadn't been much, but it was enough to short out her powers. She had barely made it out of that one alive, and had more then a few lovely scars to show for it.
The vamp ran towards her, blurring as he used his speed to try to catch her off guard. She twisted away from him, and as he passed she rammed her elbow into his back and kicked his feet out from under him. Robert's reflexes were better then the average Joe, being a vampire did that, but he still stumbled, that gave her the time she needed to produce her specialy made wooden knife. By the time Robert had recovered and twisted around, she was ready. She shoved the knife towards his heart in a practiced move that drove it right into his heart. She had let him too close though, he'd managed to scratch her, three bloody tracks ran across her chest, at the base of her neck. Gemma had been told a royal's blood was more attractive and powerful to the vampires, and it could be scented for a further distance then another fae's blood. So she was always careful, she'd have to bandage the wound quickly before anyone else picked up the scent. Gemma sighed and let the body drop. Yanking her knife out, and jumping away quickly before it exploded, even though she had moved away she still got some blood splatter on her clothes and the side of her face. That was a pretty handy thing about vampires, she didn't have to dispose of a body, though it was a pain in the ass getting the blood off if you didn't get out of the way in time.
and one woman in her time plays many parts.
