Corbin sat at her desk, eying over a couple reports that has just been sent in. Ever since the murders had occurred Corbin had been keeping a close eye on everyone in the town, the packs especially considering her fondness for them seemed almost to be nonexistent. It was certain that her stack of papers would soon be handed off to her assistant to make the phone calls and visits. Meg not only served the queen in personal affairs (shopping for clothes, shoes, etc) but also played as the queens personal spy. If anyone was to find out about Meg's newest job she would have to be executed. Corbin would hate to see such a young women go. She had a good eye for fashion and that is something she admired in her. Considering her weakness for the sun the queen never did any shopping other then online.
"I have a few phone calls I want you to make. You have been keeping in touch with the police on these affairs I assume? " she said sternly passing the folders on to her before leaning back in her chair and bringing the glass of blood to her lips. "Also you might want to tell the cooks that the blood is getting a little old...they are going to have to make arrangements for a fresher batch." her nose wrinkled slightly as she set the glass back on her desk and looked up at Meg.
"I trust that you aren't having any problems so far. I picked you out because you were one of the hardest workers I have ever seen. I needed someone like you Meg...when you are done with all your work you are more then welcomed to take the day off and see whoever you please. You know the oath though and hopefully I don't have to remind you of what will happen if you make others aware of your new job." Getting up from where she was sitting the queen made her way around to Meg and gave a rare but cold smile. "Don't be late either from you day off. Our witches will know where you are at all times. I don't want to lose my newest assistant." she said lifting Meg chin slightly with her fingers forcing her to stare into her eyes. It would seem Meg was nothing more then a position to the queen. Her human life didn't matter at all to her other then it being used to get her duties done faster.

Meg stood silently at the door, only entering to take the papers the queen offered. Her anger and fear were boiling just under the surface of her polite facade. She had heard that vampires could smell emotions but wasn't sure if that was true, she hoped not. Megan didn't want them to know how afraid she was of them. "Yes, Miss." She answered "I've kept in close contact with the police on the those matters, they have reported nothing new so far." She struggled to keep her face neutral when she mentioned the blood. Egh, she'd never get used to that. Her eyes strayed to the cup of blood on the desk and then quickly looked elsewhere before she became sick.
She held the folders against her chest as the queen spoke to her, all the while imagining herself flinging holy water into the queens eyes and shoving garlic in her mouth. A faint smile curled up the side of her lips, but she quickly caught it and put her imagination on hole then started to tune back into what the queen was saying.
Meg had to hold herself back from childishly biting her finger when the queen tilted her head up and forced eye contact, her temper rose. "and what does the queen suggest I tell anyone who asks of my new profession or why I suddenly quit a job I've worked all my life for? My sudden departure sure does seem suspicious." She asked, trying to sound polite, but not able to fully leave out the contempt in her voice. She hated the queen and her vampires, how could they do that to her! Just snatch her away from her dream and threaten her. If they expected her full cooperation they were sadly mistaken, she'd fight them anyway she could. She'd be sly about it, Messing up here and there, leaving something out of a document every now and again. Small things at first, then maybe after a while she'd progress to larger acts of rebellion.

"and what does the queen suggest I tell anyone who asks of my new profession or why I suddenly quit a job I've worked all my life for? My sudden departure sure does seem suspicious." The mix of emotions in the young women's voice couldn't be missed by the vampire queen. A slight expression of amusement crossed her face as she parted her lips, her nostrils flaring ever so slightly as her eyes fixed on Meg's. "Simply tell them you were offered a better job. One that required your service right away and you feel bad for handling it so unprofessionally." her voice softened. Sweet words seemed to roll off her tongue but the expression of sternness never left her face. This mask was one she often wore when she dealt with her humans. A surfacing tension could be felt but Corbin would never dare worry. Meg was weak, a mere twig that could be snapped in half at any minute. What was one human really going to do?
"I understand you might be a little upset at your sudden departure Miss Foster but this was a once in a life time opportunity you should be honored to be standing her in front of me breathing much less. You are more then thrilled with your newest job." A demand no less on how Meg was supposed to feel. Her sharp tongue would stab every emotion into the poor girl, free thought was welcomed it lead to too much trouble. What had been done was done and there was no way that Meg would be getting out of this position alive if anything. She had seen too much, knew too much about the royals. She would be a threat to the monarchs if anything was to get too out of hand. "Keep me company for a while Meg. You can tell me all about your little human life. Chat my ear off for all I care." Corbin smiled. There was no reason to keep her any longer but Corbin thought it would be necessary just to see if she would crack. Walking back over to her desk she took a seat and nodded to the sunken chair in front.
