Laura walked into the Cafe with what seemed like a permanent frown placed on her face. She had been up all night going back and forth between studying for her huge midterm and looking for her dad. Both if which were taking a lot of effort that she didn’t really have to waste. And right now both seemed like a huge waste time. The fact that she was going through college for no reason wasn’t really helping her mood. All of the things they seemed to teach now a days was so different from what she had learnt when she actually was college age. Now to the other point, she had managed to track Luke all the way to Jamerson Falls but could seem to place from past that point. ”No one wants to talk.” It was enough to make her want to hit her head off the wall.
Sighing she moved her way to the front of the line giving the person at the counter a soft smile. It was something she tried to always do, no matter how bad her day was, someone’s was always worst, so she made sure to always smile at strangers. ”Extra large double double please.” She said in reply when he asked her what she wanted. Moving over to the waiting area Laura looked around, maybe she could ask the people in here if they saw anything...Shaking her head back she paid for her drink as it was placed in front of her. ”Thank you.” She said lifting the cup in the air with a smile before walking over to a table and sitting down.
Relaxing back she closed her eyes and brought the cup to her lips. This was what she needed, a quick jolt and then back to searching. The sound of the door opening had her sitting up and her jaw almost hit the floor. ”Is that really him?” She couldn’t believe it; did her father really just walk through the Cafe doors? Blinking she tried to get herself to focus before looking down and shaking her head, she didn’t want to disappoint herself. Not checking to make sure it was him was safer than finding out her eyes were playing tricks on her, she was tried after all.

Right now, Luke Johnson's life wasn't exactly normal. Who's was? It was hard to say anyone's life was perfect or normal. Luke's right now was just completely weird though. Weird and a little disturbing. He had killed a bunch of people at the arcades, then he got tortured by a witch and had ended up having sex with her, then he had helped some chick at the cinema. His life was a rollercoaster, one event after the other with his emotions bouncing around all over the place. Why then was he walking the streets when he was a little psychotic? At least it was going to be a surprise if he decided to do something. A random burst of madness was always fun, right?
Stopping still, Luke's head lifted slightly, a scent catching his attention even though he hadn't sensed that scent around town before. It had a hint of his scent in though and that in itself made him realize what was going on. His eyes looked through the window of the cafe, focusing on a female that was now sat at a table. Could it really be possible? His feet found themselves moving and before he knew it he was opening the door and stepping inside the building, no invite needed with it being a public place. Luke stared at the female and without any subtlety walked over to her. "Well now... Either i've shown you what a real man is like or somehow we are related. Considering I don't remember your face, i'm going with the latter, in which case... Who are you?"

Opening her eyes again she lifted her coffee cup to her lips and took a sip, letting the hot liquid slide how her throat. ”Just what I needed to keep going.” Flipping through her text book she let her eyes scan across the pages forcing the words into her memory. ”God I hate studying.” Rolling her eyes she sat back in her seat. ”I should just skip the damn midterm, I could probably still pass. Not like I even need to.” Glaring at the book for a moment she wondered why people even wanted or cared to know about this stuff. Most of it didn’t even make sense, the authors of the book definitely didn’t know how to write a book so people could actually read and understand it.
Catching a scent next to her Laura was about to turn her head before the person spoke. Inwardly hitting her head of a wall she rolled her eyes again. Just what she needed, another male who was full of himself, this town was sure full of them. ”What do you wa-‘ When she finally turned her head to look up at the guy the words stuck in her throat. It was him, it was really him! Laura wasn’t sure how to react and instead of flipping out like she was doing inside she stuck her hand out. She was interested in seeing if he would figure it out of himself. ”Name’s Laura. Laura Johnson. And you may be?” Standing up so she wasn’t craning her neck to see him she gave him a pleasant smile.
Waiting for him to finally realize how they were related she spoke again. ”You’re Luke I take it? You’re a hard man to find.”

”What do you wa-" Luke just stared at the female, trying to work out what exactly was happening, then she suddenly stuck her hand out and as he raised one of his eyebrows he took hold and shook her hand. He had thought people in the town were weird before. This female was alien compared to everyone else. ”Name’s Laura. Laura Johnson. And you may be?” She stood up and smiled, he just stood there still holding her hand and confused about what was going on, his eyebrows furrowing as he tried to make a connection. The female had a hint of wolf to her, but she didn't seem like one of those furballs that usually hang around the town. There was also a hint of him, the human him before he had been turned.
”You’re Luke I take it? You’re a hard man to find.” That was when it clicked and with wide eyes Luke practically fell down into a seat. This just didn't happen. It was impossible. Even if she was who he thought she was then how was she here in front of him? Shouldn't she been bones in dirt by now? Then again, so should he... But he was a vampire... She wasn't. As he steadied himself in his seat he looked at her, "I... You... What?" He looked away and frowned slightly, "did someone give me drugs whilst I was sleeping or something? I must be frickin' high to imagine this shit... It's not possible..." His eyes fixed on her, "really?"

Laura barely suppressed a giggle at his reaction. His eyebrows were doing all sorts of things and his face was covered in either shock or confusion, she wasn’t sure which. When he took her hand to shake it she nodded lightly, something she always did when first meeting someone. Always best to make a good first impression, after all you only ever got one of them. And it would always be how the person remembered you. Though Laura could admit to herself that having a good first impression with Luke was quite important to her, after all, he is he father.
Suddenly his face registered understanding. ”Guess he put two and two together...” Laura was slightly worried though, she had never thought of how his reaction would be. What if he didn’t want to know her? ”Well then I guess you will be on your way back home then wont you?” Nodding inwardly she turned her focus back to Luke just in time to see him pretty much fall into a chair. Stepping forward quickly she bent down to his level. ”Oh god, are you okay?” She asked waving a hand in front of his face. ”Ha-ha, yeah, this probably could have gone better.” Even with the thought, she couldn’t help but laugh a little to herself. What had she expected? A big oh I missed you! Yeah right, that wasn’t how these things worked.
Taking a deep breath she listened to him speak, suddenly worried that he was going into some form of shock or something. ”Wait...Can vampires even go into shock?” Shaking her head she got rid of the question, there were more important things at hand right now. ”Well, I don’t think you can get high, actually. But I guess it is quite possible. Depending on who knows where you sleep.” Letting out a thankful sigh she sat back in a seat confident that he wasn’t in any danger. ”Weren’t you taught that anything is possible?” Laura asked grinning at him. ”Yes, really. It’s nice to meet you pops.” The last part was said slightly sadder, she wasn’t really sure what to do at this point.
