Eric sat on a bench in the park, his eyes closed as he tilted his head back and faced the night sky. It was peaceful out tonight. There was hardly anyone in the park and he certainly hadn't come across any other supernatural beings during his time out tonight... In fact, he was wondering where all the vampires and weres were. He knew for a fact that vampires could only come out at night, no magic rings had been invented for them and there certainly didn't seem to be any plans for that happening soon; as for the weres, well Eric was one of the people that howl at the moon, so he knew that most weres tended to hunt at night when there was less chance of them being seen. It was just strange how those that should be out at night weren't out to play... It was a little disappointing.
Eric has an unusual fascination with vampires, the reason it is so unusual was the fact that he was a werewolf, and his kind tended not to like the vampire species. Not that Eric cared. It was his life and he always did the opposite of people's expectations, he was a rule breaker and often got himself into trouble by doing crazy things. It was just him. That was how he was and he certainly wasn't going to change anytime soon. He loved being the strange wolf, the one that liked vampires, but of course there was that instinct in him that wanted to be in a pack and deep down he knew that he would have to stop caring about vampires as much in order for him to be a good pack member.

Maggie picked up on the foul scent rather quickly as she slipped through the shadows. She hadn't fed yet but after taking the kings message in to consideration she held herself back when it came to draining drunks at bars. She hadn't been assigned anything but she was sure that would all change. Her presence was going to be needed sooner or later. She wasn't really looking forward to the fact she her freedom was now nonexistent. Leave it to her to get into trouble and become a save to the king. A slight sigh escaped her as she narrowed her eyes on the beast that was looking up at the night sky.
"Pathetic..." she grumbled before stepping out into the moonlight as her fangs extended. She didn't want weres to be anywhere near her and he happened to be sitting on her favorite park bench. There was no way she was going to give it up to a mutt. This was here territory because the forest was practically pissed on by the mob of mutts that claimed it as their own. "Get off my bench and go back into the forest where you belong. You should not even be allowed in public. You fowl and disgusting dog. Scram!!!" she hissed as she neared him. "I can't go into the forest without being chased down but smartass shifters and weres!!! It's about damn time we claim this as our own."

"Pathetic..." His head dropped down as he looked at the pale skinned female step ot into the moonlight, fangs extended and a clear bad attitude. Then again most vampires were like that. It was all part of their charm. Eric's eyes just stayed fixed on her as he took in her appearance, he had seen this female around before, he could remember her face. Strange how they should finally meet. "Get off my bench and go back into the forest where you belong. You should not even be allowed in public. You fowl and disgusting dog. Scram!!!" Eric just frowned a little, he didn't think it was nice what the woman was saying, but then again most people these days judged others on the first look rather than getting to know the person. "I can't go into the forest without being chased down but smartass shifters and weres!!! It's about damn time we claim this as our own."
Eric calmly stood up and stepped away, gesturing to the bench with his hands as he did so, "all you had to do was ask. I'm not like the others of my kind, just so you know. I respect your kind for standing up and making yourselves public to the humans. Takes a brave species to do that." He shrugged a little and smiled slightly, "and I certainly wouldn't want to hunt down one of your kind. It wouldn't be fair to say one species is the best because we all are different."

"Don't give me this whole. Let's be friends bull. You are just as bad as the fang bangers. Sorry to shatter your hopes and dreams but life isn't a Disney movie and Vampires certainly aren't like the sparkly morons of twilight that have strong bond with things like you." she hissed.
Maggie pushed past him before taking a seat on the bench she didn't plan on sitting at for long. "Well get a move on now. Leave me alone and go play happy friends with someone else." she grumbled as she crossed her arms. Maggie hated weres with an utter passion. She wondered why the royals hadn't driven them to extinction. "You mutts are all the same. I don't care to get to know you and your so called huge heart. Life would be so much better if we didn't have to worry about oversized dogs running about making a mess of things."

Eric watched the vampire roll her eyes and he just shook his head slightly. Why did vampires have to be so stubborn? "Don't give me this whole. Let's be friends bull. You are just as bad as the fang bangers. Sorry to shatter your hopes and dreams but life isn't a Disney movie and Vampires certainly aren't like the sparkly morons of twilight that have strong bond with things like you." That certainly was true... Disney was magical and Twilight just sucked, simple as that. This vampire certainly wasn't sparkling, in any sense. She was just dull and moody.
The vampire had pushed passed him and sat down on the bench, Eric just watching as she did so. "Well get a move on now. Leave me alone and go play happy friends with someone else." His arms folded just as hers did and he just stared at her, not wanting to follow orders from someone who couldn't even be nice. Yes he would make friends with anyone but he wouldn't do something for them unless they were nice. "You mutts are all the same. I don't care to get to know you and your so called huge heart. Life would be so much better if we didn't have to worry about oversized dogs running about making a mess of things."
Eric raised an eyebrow slightly, "at least my heart is beating and warm. I was being polite to you, if you're like that with everyone you meet then i'm sure karma will catch up to you sooner or later. I certainly would hate for you to meet your so called king and talk to him like that." He unfolded his arms and dropped them to his side, "there are some people out there what would give anyone a chance. It would be wise not to push them away, because once your maker is gone and you have no one left, then you'll have a lonely life." He sighed and shook his head again before he started to walk away.

"because once your maker is gone and you have no one left, then you'll have a lonely life." Lonely? She already felt lonely and Luke was still around. She had pushed away the one person she cared about and although she was hurting deep down but she wouldn't admit to that. She had been carrying around a rather sour attitude with her ever since that night with Luke and now she was face to face with a were that was willing to call her out on it.
Instead of fighting back she just stood there, watching him walk away. Wondering what had possibly gone wrong in her life that she had ended up like this. "Well, how do you suggest I change that!!" she called back out trying to sound a little annoyed but wanting desperately to know the answer. She was hurting. In a matter of seconds you was in front of him, her eyes now producing a few streams of crimson. "I don't want to be alone. I'm sorry...." she whispered. Her fangs extended slowly as she found herself a little more upset, her eyes still remaining the gorgeous shade of green that had been when she was first turned. There was a human quality to her that she often hide, a vulnerability she didn't want to show...but now she was showing it.

"Well, how do you suggest I change that!!" Eric stopped still, still facing away from the blonde haired female, wondering where this was going to lead now. There were a few possibilities; he could keep walking and leave, she could attack him, or they could be friendly. The ball was in her court now, so to speak. Within seconds the female was in front of him with tears of blood rolling down her cheeks, Eric had never seen a vampire cry before, it was so weird seeing blood instead of actual tears. "I don't want to be alone. I'm sorry...." Eric stared at her, watching her fangs extend as she stood there in front of him. First she had been crying, then she had apologised, things seemed to be looking up... Maybe she wasn't all that bad after all?
Without much thought or consideration for his own health Eric moved closer to her and wrapped his arms around her, giving her the tightest hug possible without wanting to make her get offended. It as just a hug for comfort and support, that was all. His mouth was close to her ear as he hugged her so he decided to whisper, "there's no need to be sorry. I am here as a friend, if you want me to be?" Letting go off her he stepped back and stared into her eyes, "if you are willing to see me as a friend and can accept that I am different then I am sure I can forget about what happened and we can have a clean slate. Vampire or not, everyone deserves to have someone that cares."

Maggie's eyes flicked up to him as she lifted her head allowing for the tears to run down her cheek and collect at the bottom of her chin. Her lips parted just as soon as a soft smile spread across it and she wiped the tears from her eyes. "I look pretty ugly when I cry....why can't we just cry normal tears." she laughed slightly. "Thank you." she finlly whispered as her eyes softened. "I'm a little bit of a mess, not to mention a bitch and I'm sorry for that. I'm glad your willing to give me another chance though."
Never in a million years did she think that she would be actually acting civil towards a were. It was hard enough trying to ignore the smell, that alone wanted to make her throw any were off a bridge and into a deep river. For some reason though she wasn't allowing for any of that to bother. Perhaps it was the sinking feeling in her heart and realization that she didn't want to be alone. Right now she was enjoying the company, even if it was hard to completely ignore the smell. "I have to say this is a first....normally I just fight with your kind."

"I look pretty ugly when I cry....why can't we just cry normal tears." Eric looked at her and smiled, hoping that he was able to comfort her in some sense. Seeing upset was never really a good thing and it was clear the female didn't like his kind, but he hoped that him just being there and being a friend was going to help her. "Thank you. I'm a little bit of a mess, not to mention a bitch and I'm sorry for that. I'm glad your willing to give me another chance though." Eric nodded and smiled slightly before speaking, "it's not a problem. You look like you could use someone to talk to." He smiled again.
Talking to a vampire wasn't exactly common practice for a were but right now it needed to be done and it was only fair that this female was shown a little love. Everyone deserves a little love after all. "I have to say this is a first....normally I just fight with your kind." Yeah, that tended to happen a lot. "Not all of my kind are bad." His eyes fixed on hers and for the moment they connected, before he looked away, he felt as though there was something they should do. Then again, it was a weird moment anyway, and this wasn't exactly normal. "Some of us are nice if you give us the chance."

Maggie gave a sigh as she smiled. She was quite relucant to admit to things but she had no choice but to accept his offer if she didn't want to be alone the rest of that night. "Well I'm giving you a chance, so show me how nice your kind can be. Prove me wrong. Be my friend for the night." it felt ridiculous saying all that. Vampires weren't supposed to get along with weres. It was unnatural and almost foolish. There had always been a constant war between the two groups although lately many vamps and weres were trying to live together peacefully.
Both groups were too stubborn to give into the idea of peace. Either one or the other eventually snapped and allowed hate to fill their heart but at this time Maggie was setting that aside. She was hurting and at that moment the only one that was willing to offer a shoulder to cry on was someone she normally avoided. Maggie brushed her tears from her eyes as she walked along side him. She was sure that maybe he would be successful in clearing her mind about the matter. It was going to take a lot of focus on her part to remain nice. She could feel soft growls trying to erupt from her lungs as she neared him. Maggie gotten so used to hating that smell that a growl had been conditioned in her.

"Well I'm giving you a chance, so show me how nice your kind can be. Prove me wrong. Be my friend for the night." Eric nodded as he thought about things for a moment, then he spoke again, "sounds reasonable. What happens if things go well tonight? Will we see each other again?" He really couldn't get over her radiant beauty, this vampire was one of the most amazing creatures he had seen. Shame they would no doubt end up trying to tear each other apart once the full moon came. It was common knowledge that werewolves had limited control on the night of a full moon. Once that night came he would be a savage, vampire hating, beast. That would probably be the deal breaker for any relationship these two formed tonight
"You're pretty lucky, vamp girl. You get to stay looking beautiful and young all the time. Like it or not my kind needs to age and turn into a mutt at every full moon. Not that it matters to me now. Life is life." Eric looked down and put his hands into his pockets; he wasn't really bothered about being a wolf, just the shifting every full moon. It got extremely annoying. There was one time when he hadn't realised it was a full moon and he had gone to a party. The dash he had made out of the building so that he could shift had been intense, he had to do it quickly so that no one saw anything. That was successful. He had survied and no one knew what he was. This time though, it wasn't about a secret being revealed, it was the fact a friendship could be ruined and he didn't like that.

"sounds reasonable. What happens if things go well tonight? Will we see each other again?" Maggie smiled as she looked down. If things went well, she she found no reason in avoiding him. After all wolf or not he was certainly great eye candy. "If I can get use to the smell and your actually not as annoying as I think you are then chances are I won't mind seeing you again." she looked up at him and gave a smirk. Sure it didn't sound like the nicest of complements considering a great amount of sarcasm was mixed into it but it was the only way she knew how to be "nice"."You're pretty lucky, vamp girl. You get to stay looking beautiful and young all the time. Like it or not my kind needs to age and turn into a mutt at every full moon. Not that it matters to me now. Life is life."
"I may look and feel young but it certainly creeps me out slighting that I should have been rotting in a grave or looking like a wrinkled prune in some nursing home. I actually once ran into someone I knew during my time in Chicago. I was taking a trip to Settle and I happened to bump into them in a local retardant bar as I tried to pick up a few drunks. He was at a table with his family and he looked like he had seen a ghost when he caught a glimpse of me. Other then the longer hair, everything was the same. I think he put two and two together....or at least though i was some ghost." She gave a slight sigh. Looking up at him trying to give him a smile. That event had really haunted her ever since it had happened. It was probably because then she had realized how unnatural her existence was. Death was a normal part of life. "Not as glamorous as it seems....it's bothered me ever since. That look is something I will never forget."

Life wasn't perfect. You just had to take the people that loved you and hold them close.
"Not as glamorous as it seems....it's bothered me ever since. That look is something I will never forget." He nodded and looked at her, giving her a reassuring smile before looking away. "I guess all species have their own problems." Eric sat down on a bench and looked up at her, "i'm not going to talk about wolves or anything unless you want to. I think the scent is bad enough for you. One step at a time, hey?" He smiled and tilted his head to the direction of the empty seat next to him, "plenty of room." A small wink and he smiled at her again; trying to be a good friend.
