[atrb=style,background-color: transparent,bTable] hey guys. my name is Brodir Dane Hoffman, but you can call me Brodir. everyone else does, so i guess you can too. i'm one thousand and twenty-one years young, and if it isn't already obvious, i'm a male. it should be. what isn't so obvious is the fact that i'm a vampire, but you can keep that a secret for now. |
personality
What can I say I'm old. I think I might have grown a little bitter and jaded over the years. It seems a lot about the modern world frustrates me. It's not the modern technology or anything like that, its the people. The people that populate this time seem shallow and superficial, I seek companions deeper than that. They're just hard to find these days. I try not to be a grouch but nobody is perfect.First of all the Great Revelation was to change the lives (existances?) of vampires for the better. The Revelation brought changes but not all of them good, like fangbangers. Talk about shallow and superficial people, I hate being treated like a novelty. I'm a sentient creature not a fashion fad. I have no respect for them and those like them. Don't even get me started on the Fellowship of the Sun, at least not right now.
Now I'm not a complete crotchety old man, at least I hope not. There are many things in this world that I like, many of them being the comforts afforded by this time. Telelvision, movies, computer, the internet, cars, planes, these are things I can't believe I lived so long without. Indoor plumbing alone makes believe these days are better than my younger years. Also unlike most of my contemporaries I do enjoy the music of some of these most recent generations.
Now I'm old, so I sill have the mindset of a warrior. I also possess a strong code of honor, albeit I only apply it to situations that I think deserve honorable consideration, again I'm not perfect. I also don't like to lie, but will if I don't respect you. I also pride myself on my sense of loyalty, earn my trust and I'll be one the the most loyal people you'll ever meet. Lose it however, well thats better left unsaid. Now this short blurb about me isn't the whole story, you should get to know me, I'm not that bad.
history
I was once known as Brodir of Man. I was born to two Danish parents from the Isle of Man. I was raised a christian and to be a warrior, historical accounts of me being a sorceror are false, I'm not sure where that came from. I also had a brother that was a warrior, but he betrayed me. None of this in my opinion has anything to do with my true history, as far as I'm concerned my history began at the end of the Battle of Clontarf.I was twenty-four at the time and the battle had not gone very well for me and my men. As I called a retreat, a traitor from the opposing side gave me the location of Brian Boru, High King of Ireland. Boru was the leader of the army I was trying to defeat, I knew if I was able to kill him I could still win this day. Under the cover of night I managed to sneak past Boru's forces and gain entrance to his tent. I slew his bodyguards and then went after the old king himself. I will hand it to the old man, he put up quite a fight, but in the end he laid dead at my feet. I in no way came through this fight unscathed, fatally wound I fled Boru's tent only to be pursued by more of Boru's men. I did not get to far before I collapsed, Boru's men were then upon me, and then she appeared.
She of course being Ysabel, my soon to be maker. Ysabel glamoured my pursuers into believing they had killed me, then she gave me an offer to become vampire. I gather you can guess my answer. After becoming vampire I traveled with Ysabel until she released me. I went through a moster phase where I killed and fed on who I wanted when I wanted. I fought in many battles and wars over the years, at least in a limited capacity since I could only fight at night. I eventually mellowed, stopped killing when I fed as I had come to find it unnecessary. Why kill with no need?
This is around the time that I became a soldier of fortune as it were. I began to serve Monarchs in those early nights in a sort of wet works capacity, to use modern terminology. It was my job to convince to back down or remove those Monarchs that threatened the kingdom that I currently worked for, needless to say I made many powerful friends and enemies in equal measure. But that is in the past now and I am still here, so I must have been good at what I did. I was originally hoping that my service to the Monarchs would earn me the title of King, but the more time I spent with those in power the more I realized I did not want to join them.
I have served many Monarchs over the many years of my existance, but my time as the Sheriff of Area 2 for the King of Pennsylvania is the most pertinent to my current status. Now Pennsylvania Area 2 encompasses a lot of the state, needless to say it was quite the handful. Toward the end I was investigating a large V ring that was operating in my Area, it was so large in fact that it caught the attention of the North American Magister. To make a long story short it was the Kings newest beloved progeny that was dealing the V, in a panic he tried to frame me for the crime before the Magister. So to clear my name I invoked the names of some of the other Monarchs I haved worked for and informed the King and Magister that they would most likely name me king after their deaths, if the King and his progeny didn't reveal the truth. Now I'm not sure if the other Monarchs would have backed me or not but my plan worked. The King confessed to his progeny's misdeeds and attempting to frame me. I'm not sure what happened after that,as I resigned my position of Sheriff and left Pennsylvania. Officialy the King has exiled me from his kingdom, good riddance. I look forward to my future in Jamerson Falls, it should prove to be an interesting change.[/div]
Once Brodir enters the house he notes it looks like a hurricane swept through this place, possibly after passing through a trash dump first. Brodir follows the thug to the kitchen, wondering how he walks wearing his pants so low. Brodir also takes note of the Glock the thug is carrying, wondering if it has ammo that would prove effective against a vampire. As Brodir takes stock of the four individuals in the kitchen, his stomach sinks. These V dealers are not your stereotypical drainers, they are working with a willing vampire accomplice. Brodir and the other vampire recognize eachother at the same time, the other vampire is the Kings newest progeny. Before the other vampire can react, Brodir seizes the door thug by the neck, breaking it and also relieving him of his sidearm. Brodir then empties the gun in a wide arc, eliminating the other three humans in the kitchen before they even raise their weapons. The other vampire is also struck by at least one round, which causes him to howl in pain. Brodir smirks saying, "I guess that answers my earlier question". The wounded vampire tries to make a run for it, but being that Brodir is fifty times his age, he doesn't get far. To the baby vampire's credit he begins hurling threats after Brodir grabs a hold of him, instead begging. Brodir clasps his hand over the younger vampires mouth to shut him up. "This is going to cause me a headache isn't it?" Brodir says in a somber tone.[/div]
