“There are all these witness’, you can’t use any suggestive powers on him in front of everyone…” Buffy pleaded. Brodir had a point and per usual, Buffy didn’t think this all the way through. He dropped his arms, staring at Brodir’s fangs as they sheathed. He kept his eyes on his teeth, lingering a moment before he finally looked back into Brodir’s eyes. "Listen to me, I'll speak to the police when they arrive, you will go into the dinner and wait for me. This is not a request. Go. I'll deal with the police, don't worry I can be very persuasive". He heard him say, he was going to protest something else to Brodir but as soon as he opened his mouth, Brodir told him to trust him. Buffy bit his bottom up before walking backwards. “Just be careful…they’re not fans of vampires…” Buffy told him before turning and jogging back inside. Once Buffy and Emily got all the patrons back inside the building, she grabbed his arm pulling him into the back.
“oh shit…” Buffy said as he realized her intent was to rip him a new one. “What are you thinking?! Outside with a vampire!” She asked. Buffy, irritated, folded his arms and look to the side waiting for her rant to finish. “He is a vampire and now your bleeding!” She said walking over to the first aid kit and getting some gauze and a band-aid. “I don’t want him back in here. He’s causing trouble and he almost drank your blood.” She ranted.
“Ow!” Buffy said smacking her hand off his eyebrow. “First of all, I’m grown and my parents are miles away. Forget that he is a vampire. Why is everyone so focused on that alone?! He was a person at one point in time. He didn’t hurt me, he helped me. Those men were going to hurt him, which is why I tried to keep him inside but he followed me out. Why am I explaining myself to you?!” He asked himself before snatching the band-aid and walking off.
He walked into the bathroom and applied the band-aid to his face. He used to the toilet and washed his hands coming back out to the main dining room. He stood by the glass where he could still see what was going on outside. Brodir had definitely captivated him but while he was gone, Buffy would have to find a good lie as to why he was different.

When the police arrived, Brodir handled them quite adeptly, using a generous dose of glamors. He made sure to disguise the use of his powers as just ordinary conversation between him and the officers. He also made sure to have the officers parade around the three mens silver chains and other silver implements, as well as their stash of V. This was of course all a show for those inside the Cafe, Brodir reasoned if these people did not like vampires then they would probably hate drainers and V junkies more. He topped off his show with shaking the officers hands and patting them on the shoulders.
As he entered the Cafe he turned to the officers waving saying, "You officers have a good night, and be safe." He was hoping his little spectacle had a positive effect on those inside. Brodir then turned to the boss or manger who was back behind the counter, "May I use the wash room? I still have some of Buffy's blood on my hand from his head wound." After washing the blood from his hand, he returns to Buffy and asks him, "Would you like to go to the hospital to have that looked at?"

Everyone in the diner café was trying to be discreet, in watching Brodir talk to the police. They nodded their heads and Buffy prayed that they didn’t start anything with Brodir when he came back inside. Shock was written all over their faces as Brodir shook the officer’s hands then patted them on the back as he walked inside. He looked at Brodir trying to pick up some sort of thoughts but he got nothing. He still couldn’t hear him. It was sort of exciting not being able to hear him. When Buffy focused on his mind, he couldn’t hear anything, not from anyone, it was surreal.
Buffy stood by the bar as Brodir asked the bartender for the bathroom. He didn’t say anything just yet, not until Brodir came back and spoke to him, “why do you care?” Buffy said teasingly. “I’m fine. It will heal, it’s not too bad.” Buffy told him. “Brodir…” Buffy calls “do I smell different?”

"Why do I care?", Brodir asked, "because it was my fault it happened, if you had not been with me you would not have gotten hurt." Brodir had to stop for a moment to consider how to answer the second question. Brodir leans close to Buffy and stares into his eyes, saying in a hushed tone "I think we both know you smell... different." Then Brodir says in a near whisper, "I think we should go someplace a little more private to... talk". He lets an ever slight smile touch his lips as he leans back.
Brodir hopes that his close proximity, soft tones, and slight smile were having the desired effect on Buffy. Since he believes Buffy will be susceptible to his charms, he thinks getting the answers he seeks should be easier. While maintaining the slight smile he asks in that same hushed tone, "My place... or yours?"

God damn vampires! Buffy had been signed, sealed and delivered since he walked through that door. “Your place…” Buffy told him in a wispy tone. Was that his voice? That sounded so drawn, that gave away exactly how attracted to Brodir he was? He couldn’t help it! Something came over him, something that was great and exacting. The worst part was that he knew Brodir knew it, and he was pretty sure that Brodir knew that he knew that Brodir knew. Ugh, I’m so confused… Buffy thought. He looked back at Brodir and smiled, “I’ll get my stuff, meet me out back…” Buffy told him.
He walked into the back office and the door slammed behind him. Buffy whirled around and saw Emily with her arms folded over her chest, staring at him. Buffy raised a brow and turned the rest of his body towards her. With a quick reading of her mind, he already knew his counter-arguments for this conversation. “Look, I can take care of myself…” Buffy told her. “If you can then why is it, an hour after meeting him your already bleeding…” Emily spat. Buffy hadn’t had a comeback for that, he put a hand on his brow.
“Whatever…just let me live my life.” Buffy said weakly. He opened the door and walked right past her to the backdoor. He stopped at the door, his hand on the handle, unsure now. Should he go? Should he stay? Brodir was exciting and old so he was wise about life. He knew things and Buffy felt that he wouldn’t get bored with him. His feelings were overwhelming but he would still take it rather slow with him. He turned the knob and walked out into the back. “Did you drive?”

As Buffy heads into the back to grab his things, Brodir exits the front of the building and heads to the back door. Brodir smiled as he walked around the building, in his younger days he would be meeting Buffy to feed from him. Go back a little further in time and Buffy would not be leaving the alley. Brodir's smile continued, he had grown past that phase, now he does not feed on someone without their permission. This is not entirely altruistic, he has grown so old that he can pretty much take whatever he wants whenever he wants, there is no pleasure in that he thought. Getting his prey to give it to him willingly, now there is some enjoyment in that. Brodir waited by the back door for Buffy.
Buffy exited the building, asking if he had drove. I do not drive much, Brodir thought, but I do own a car. A pretty expensive silver 2009 Aston Martin DB9, to be exact. "No I did not drive tonight", Brodir responded. "I had decided to walk as I explored tonight. This was just suppose to be a brief stop off on my little jaunt. My place is a ways from here, if you would like I could fly us there, you wouldd just have to hold on to me tight."

Buffy smiled at Brodir, completely captivated. It was all he could do, not to jump on him right then and there. This was no way to act, he wanted Brodir to respect him. He didn't want to see so into Brodir off the bat but he couldn't help it. Everything about him was so attractive. Buffy turned back to him when he spoke again, “you should have driven. But yeah, I don’t mind holding you tight.” Buffy told him flirtatiously. He walked towards Brodir and put his hands around his body. His body was cold and very hard.
Weirdly, he had soft skin but it was still hard, Buffy wasn’t sure if he was making any sense of the matter. He could tell that Brodir was muscular under the shirt but he stayed quiet about it, not wanting to come across “that” way. “How does this work?”

Buffy did not seem very hesitant to cling tight to him, Brodir thought. Good, it wouldn't do any good if Buffy had a fear of flying. Buffy was warm to the touch, all humans were in fact, Brodir just noticed it more often because he enjoyed the warmth. Brodir also took note of the speed of Buffy's pulse, it quickened some when he wrapped his arms around Brodir. The smell of Buffy's blood was strong and sweet, Brodir thought as he wrapped his arms around Buffy in return.
"Well we will have to hold onto each other very tight." Brodir leaned down and whispered the next part into Buffy's ear, "Other than that I can go fast or slow, the choice is yours, whichever you are more comfortable with." Brodir hoped that the provocative nature of the last statement was not lost on Buffy. Still whispering in Buffy's ear Brodir asked, "So which shall it be?" Brodir hoped he had Buffy back off balance. Brodir so enjoyed playing with Buffy, this was going to prove to be an entertaining night. And to think, Brodir thought, this was only suppose to be a brief stop off.

Buffy’s heart jumped as Brodir whispered in his ear. His body tensed and seemed to heat up a little. As Brodir pulled away, Buffy looked in his eyes. He knew exactly what the vampire meant and for a second he had to close his eyes, trying to calm himself down. “Umm…” Buffy started. He was lost for words. He was excited, scared and completely overtaken with ecstasy with Brodir. He tried to listen to the vampire’s thoughts but heard nothing. He was completely amazed. He had to constantly hold up walls so that he couldn’t hear people’s thoughts but now, he was letting them down to hear Brodir and he heard nothing. Half the time, people just thought he was crazy. Trying to hold up one side of your brain while using the other to hear someone speak was difficult.
He could let his walls down around Brodir and not hear anything, finally be able to relax and not always have to be on guard. “Why are you doing this to me?” Buffy asked, still looking into his soft brown eyes. “Why am I so…” easy he wanted to say before he snapped back into his normal self. “Wait a minute…” Buffy told him. “Why can’t I hear you?” Buffy asked, realizing the rarity of this moment.

Brodir contemplated Buffy's last statement, and the wheels in his head started turning. Brodir pieced together all the information he had thus far with Buffy's last statement. I think the young man may be telepathic Brodir thought to himself, it would make all of the events of tonight make sense. Brodir had encountered a telepath once before, but he was a mad man in an asylum. Buffy did not appear to be mad, at least not in the mental sense.
"Well to answer your first question, I am doing this to you because I enjoy it." That and Brodir liked mysteries, and Buffy was a bit of a mystery. At least he was, Brodir was pretty sure Buffy was a telepath, now Brodir wanted to get him to admit it. Brodir could think of a few entertaining ways to get his answers. "To answer your last question, you do not seem to have gone deaf...", Brodir leaned in and whispered into Buffy's ear again, "...why not tell me what you mean." The whispering in Buffy's ear always seemed to have the desired effect, his pulse always quickens.

Buffy breathed deeply, feeling Brodir whisper in his ear. As usual, he felt a cold sliver go down his spine and he shuttered silently. He knew that Brodir would probably be able to feel the very minor tremors as the sliver went up his spine. He sucked in a sharp breath. “I’m not some ordinary human, you can just woo off their feet.” He said proudly. “And I want you to respect me…like you would anyone else.” Buffy told him. He lifted his head to face him. “I don’t even know you…this is so unlike me.” Buffy turned a shade pink.
He was ignoring Brodir’s previous question but thought better of it. “I’m not like everyone else. I have a curse…” Buffy told him.

Brodir looked Buffy in the eyes, "You may not be an... ordinary human... but I do so enjoy trying to get you off your feet." Brodir had a wicked grin on his face as he said that. "I also do not respect just anyone, so you might not wish to be considered just like everyone else." Brodir reached up and ran his fingers through Buffy's hair saying, "You may not know me, but I think you want to... as much as I wish to know you." Brodir smiled and continued speaking, "And acting unlike yourself is an important way to experience life, if you always play it safe, are you really living?"
Brodir held up a hand to cut Buffy off, "A curse can be a very subjective thing, I find knowledge usually combats such notions, perhaps you don't know enough about your... ability." Brodir paused a second to let that last word sink in. Brodir was pretty sure Buffy was telepathic, but Buffy had yet to say it himself. Besides a dark alley was not the proper place for this conversation. Just anyone could over-hear after all. "Besides we should probably not discuss this here, I personally do not wish to get to know you in a dark alley." Brodir stopped to listen to Buffy's response. Brodir wanted it to be Buffy's choice to continue from here.

“I have a strict policy that I’m not off my feet unless my counterpart is off theirs…” Buffy told him. He was so close to Brodir, he usually kept his wall up but he could actually relax around him. It didn’t occur to him that Brodir wanted to know his secret until now. The way he was talking made it a little obvious. “Who says I’m not ordinary?” Buffy asked him. Buffy turned around to face him after his next words. “But I’m not just anyone. Am I? I’m the guy who is in your arms right now and tried, failed miserably, to save your life.” Buffy told him earnestly. “Of course I wish to know you…” Buffy told him. He wanted there to be no doubt in that sense.
“Can you live a life that you never knew or experienced? Ignorance is bliss…” Buffy told him, feeling himself getting guarded. He didn’t want to be but he was unsure of so much right now. He was too into Brodir to know if those were truly his words. “My ability or curse is my problem. I don’t want to burden you with my problems. I can just hear people’s thoughts. I don’t usually tell people that but I can. Everyone’s thoughts but vampires, I guess…” Buffy told him. With his next bit, Buffy looked around the café/bar and nodded to Brodir, “let’s go then…” He told him. “I need something from you. Something that I’m desperate to know. What do I smell like? It seems that my blood sets vampires on fire…they lose control…” he pleaded.
“We probably should get out of here…” Buffy said. “I told you my secret. Tell me yours, warrior…”

Well Buffy finally admitted it, he is telepathic. Brodir would have preferred if he hadn't admitted here in this alley, but whats done is done. "I am pretty sure that I have accumulated so many secrets of the years that it would take a lifetime to recount them all, even if I could remember them all." Besides Brodir enjoyed learning the secrets of others, not divulging his own. Brodir wondered the source of Buffy's telepathy, his talk of light sounded like... but could that be possible? Brodir would need more time to sort that out, more time to look into the lore on such things. Brodir had more questions but they would have to wait for now.
"To answer your question, yes your blood does smell different from other humans, the aroma is quite intoxicating." Indeed that might be a bit of an understatement, Brodir had lost himself to the power of Buffy's blood once already. Although it would not happen again, Brodir told himself, I had just been unprepared for it before. "I would imagine that the taste of your blood is similarly different." Actually Brodir would know that to be fact, the smell of Buffy's blood was so enticing Brodir could already taste it.
"Yes, now is the time to leave." With that Brodir swept Buffy of his feet and cradled him in his arms. "Be sure to hold still, and you might want to close your eyes." Brodir took to the skies, not too high though, Brodir knew he had to stay low enough so Buffy wouldn't freeze or suffocate. Brodir also didn't fly too fast, but they would reach his apartment building in no time, nothing was ever too far by flight after all.

TASTE ME, drink my soul
Buffy thought it over, thinking how he could still get Brodir to open up about something. After what was only a moment, he spoke, “tell me the story of how you became a vampire…” Buffy told him. He was always intrigued by these stories and if their maker was still around, years together with the same person, not year but centuries and sometimes millenniums. How did he feel about being a vampire? When was the moment that he found out he was a vampire. And most importantly, did it hurt? He knew it was a bad idea to leave with a vampire he was so consumed over but he wasn’t really acting himself at the moment. Those eyes, he could pierce into those chocolate eyes for hours.
When Brodir told him about his blood, he had a hard time not smelling himself. “Intoxicating?” Buffy asked again. No one had ever called him intoxicating. “Then what is stopping you from attacking me? What makes you so different than the other vampires who go insane when I walk into a building?” Buffy asked. It was true, even when he was younger he was always sought after. His parents didn’t understand it, as far as he knew but it left so many questions. Questions only his parents could answer. Yet questions he could never ask them.
Buffy didn’t have time to answer Brodir before he was in the air, the coolest night air. It was the perfect temperature for flying. He didn’t even get a chill. Buffy always wondered what it would be like to fly and now that he was, he was too excited by Brodir to take it all in. His short hair played in the wind as they flew towards Brodir’s estate. What would a vampire house feel like? And why couldn’t he read their thoughts. Flying in the air, and having his barriers down and still hearing nothing was amazing!! He could finally just relax and not have to be so on top of his thoughts. This, this moment alone with Brodir and the wind playing gently through his hair, was truly intoxicating.
