Drew looked around the room of his small apartment and sighed to himself. Did he have to go to work today? Where the hell was his cellphone? He rolled out of his bed and into the washroom to find his pants on the floor. A ringing was coming from the general mound of clothing and when he bent to investigate, he found his cell phone, ringing from the morning alarm. 7 am. Why did he leave the thing on all the time? He flipped through the various menus and found his schedule. He wasn’t even working for the next two days. Cursing under his breath, he stared in his reflection as he debated whether or not to go back to bed or to get ready for the day. Usually if he woke up he could fall back to sleep if he was still in bed. If he left the bed, there was no hope.
With a sigh he slipped off his boxers and jumped in the shower for a quick two minutes. Drew had gotten getting ready down to an efficient science. He tried himself off, slipped into some clean clothes, and was out the door. He needed coffee. He needed coffee so damn badly and had broken his coffee maker when he tried to fix it. Drew thought that as a mechanic, he would have been able to fix a simple coffee maker. Apparently not. He could redesign an engine, but not make a cup of Joe. It was a sad existence.
And so, Drew found himself at The Falls Cafe, a frequent cafe he stopped by in the morning before work. He needed an extra large black coffee. He brushed the rain out of his short hair when he got to the store and looked around. For the most part it was the usual crowd: nurses, truck drivers, child minders, businessmen. If you drank coffee often enough, you got to know the regulars. He got his coffee and sat on a cough by the fireplace. He stared off into space as he pondered the grumbling in his stomach. He was hungry. He was tired and he just sat down. Hmm.

Julianna slowly brushed her dangling blonde curls back behind her shoulder. She pulled the bow tight so it fit snug in the back of her hair. She had an interview to work as an accounting assistant today, but it wasn't for another few hours. She slipped on a black skirt and a tucked her violet tank top in. She gently brushed out the wrinkles and examined herself in the mirror. She knew she was missing something though. She grabbed her eye liner from the counter top and softly applied it on her top eye lid then smudged it to give it a greyer look. She smiled, put her hands on her hips, glanced up and down once more, then walked out. She grabbed her car keys and walked out to the car.
She yawned as she drove, and gabbed a fistful of hair, twirling it around. She was exhausted for whatever reason, though she fell asleep last night at eleven and didn't wake up till about an hour ago. This was good for her, she didn't actually have the best seeping habits, this was the longest she had slept in a while. Julie seen the little coffee shop off to the side and decided why not pull in here for a while. She had at least another three hours before the interview. She parked her car and slowly got out. Julie stopped for a moment to adjust her small black heels then continued on. She walked up to the counter in the little shop and was greeted immediately. Hi, what can i get for you? She looked at the sign of what they had above the women's head." Could I get a medium mocha coconut frappichino?" The lady nodded and quickly squirmed over to the machine to make it. About two minutes later she tossed it over to her and Julianna handed her the money. She walked around for a moment looking for a place to sit. Then spotted a man sitting on a couch by the fireplace, there was an open space next to him. She walked over to him and flashed a smile before talking." Would it be okay if I sat here?" She spoke with an innocent voice as she sipped on her frapp.

Drew sometimes wondered what the hell he was doing with his life. Sure, he liked to believe there was some sort of purpose to whatever he was doing. There would be some benefit to him going out and seeking the answers to his long awaited questions, but what was he supposed to do when he was done with all of that? Was he supposed to settle down with a wife and have a few babies? That future seemed positively dull to him. Why would anyone want that for himself? Granted, he would never ask that question in front of someone who already had kids, but Drew certainly didn’t want any. He wanted to travel, he wanted to see the world, he wanted to experience different things. Changing a dirty diaper was not something he needed to experience.
Why he was thinking so far ahead in the future on this sleepy morning, he hadn’t a clue, but he was snapped back into reality when he heard the sound of a sweet voice talking to him. At least, he thought it was in his direction. He looked up, blinked slightly, and found an adorable little blonde looking expectantly in his direction. Actually, adorable probably wasn’t the right word to describe the woman. Enticing. Yup, that was a definite word. ”It would be more than okay,” he said, throwing in a charming smile for good measures. As charming as one could be at seven in the morning.
He watched her for a moment before he realised this was probably the part where he was actually supposed to say something. ”I’m Drew, by the way,” he said with a small nod of introduction. Dear Lord, she had the most captivating blue eyes he’d ever seen. He didn’t know which stole more of his attention right now: the girl or his hunger. ”Would you excuse me for a moment?” he asked, and got up before she could respond. He left his coffee on the table and went back to the barista, ordering two muffins once he got there. He brought them back and handed one to the girl. ”Just in case you haven’t eaten yet,” he said. He could swallow his muffin whole, like a snake, right about now. Girls at breakfast, right? They better, otherwise his entire view on women just changed for the millionth time.

She sighed and bit her lip reviewing in her head what she was going to say. While going over her checklist in her head the man turned and flashed her a charming smile before speaking.”It would be more than okay,” She smiled and scooted herself on to the couch. One leg instinctively fit over the other, slightly crossed, keeping her hands in her lap and on her drink.I’m Drew, by the way Jules smiled to the man brushing her bangs out of her face as she spoke.Nice to meet you. I'm Julianna." She continued to sip away at her drink before the man turned back to her and spoke.”Would you excuse me for a moment?” Though before she even had time to nod, he was up and she looked down to her half empty drink. She almost had the urge to get another but then again she could sit here all day and drink these to the point where she'd make herself sick.”Just in case you haven’t eaten yet,”
He handed her a muffin. She smiled politely as she took a bit. After that she turned to him and spoke" I don't usually eat in the morning but thank you." As she chewed away at the small muffin it started to make her a little less nervous. She knew it would be bad but she felt almost as if she needed a cigarette. After almost getting out of her toxic habit falling back into it would be devastating. Though she still had occasional withdraw symptoms. The most common thing was she would get extremely irratiable and totally have a cow over stupid things. She bit her lip almost thinking about going out to find a gas station and buying a pack. Julie finally took a deep breath and realized what she was about to do.
