The Falls Cafe was a safe ground for all those who entered. Well polished hardwood table tops and chairs could be seen all around. Costumers scattered in handfuls, some chatting with friend, others nose deep in a newspaper. Catt was new to this part of New Jersey. Her older brother had sent for her in Atlantic City, saying that Jamerson Falls was a place that was free of all the drama that home held.
Catt believed it, and followed him into the dark.
The only reason Catt wasn't right by his side was because he was at work, flipping burgers at a local McDonalds down the street so Catt found her way in there. After ordering a caramel frap with the most deluxe whipped topping she scanned the fray for a place to sit. Everyone seemed to have friends with them tonight. And she, really had no one to bring along with her.
Looking over a few heads she spotted a woman sitting by herself, she had sun kissed blonde hair and sharp chin line. And another thing, she was unbelievably beautiful. It was odd for Catt to look at a women as being attractive, because when it came down to it she was as straight as an arrow. But there was something alluring about this woman, something strange that pulled her in. And before Catt knew it she was marching along like a zombie towards her table, silly smile plastered to her face.
By the time she was a foot away from the table she felt a blush come over her cheek and a sudden dryness strike her mouth. She had realized she hadn't come up with anything witty, or funny to say to the young women in front of her except for a big awkward.
"Hi. I'm Catt."

Christine tried to ignore the women who was staring at her. She almost thought that her makeup was fading and she looked more pale then normal. She drank her water, after drinking some blood from a human a few blocks away. She was still getting used to drinking blood. She looked up with the women who had been looking right at her came to her table. She smiled but wasn't all that sure what the women would say to her. She listened to the women's words and she answered back. "Hello, I am Christine." She was about to put her hand out for Catt to shake but she remembered a second later that she was cold, and she didn't want her knowing that she was a vampire if she could avoid it. "Please sit down." She offered hoping that Catt didn't realize that she hadn't offered her hand out to shake.
This women seemed different. She couldn't put her finger on it. She was sure that she wasn't human, but she didn't have proof of it. She picked up her glass of water and took another sip. Her stomach felt so much better now, than it had when she first got up. The thought made her sick, how she was willing to drink blood just to say alive. She felt like she was such a monster. There was a sad look on her face, then she picked up her glass of water, her hand shaking. She put it to her lips, but instead of the drink going into her mouth, it went onto her light pink dress. "Crap..." She whispered under her breath, looking at her now wet dress. She picked up a napkin to try and dry the top of her dress off. "How long have you been here Catt?" She questioned, looking over at her.

Catt hurriedly grapped a few abandoned napkins from a near by table, placing them quickly in front of Christine and frowning at the unfortunate spill the girl had with water.
"Oh I've been here about three days now." Said the spell-stress, thinking about how many spells she knew that could fix the watered garment, but how she wouldn't dare say anything in effect to that. "I like it here, it seems to be a charming place. Not alot of the rift-raft you get in Atlantic City." She said, trying to make pleasant conversation. The girl who sat across from her seemed aloof, as if she something she was thinking about was bothering her.
"I need to find a job around here, do you know of any places that would hire an extremely pale shop girl?"
The smile from before the spill returned to her face, if she was going to act like she was normal, she would have to talk like a normal human being as well.

Christine smiled at the extra napkins. "Thank you." She continued trying to get the spill out of her dress. "Awesome, I've been here for about five years or so." She wasn't trying to brag, she just thought it wouldn't be rude to answer something back like that. She jumped when Catt said pale. "Umm... no I've been here a long time but I don't work." She spoke before adding, "Oh and I am from France." She smiled before frowning again. Dang now I am thinking about my father again. "Sorry just past thoughts.... parents..." She didn't finish that, Catt wouldn't want to hear about her past. She felt pain in her stomach, thinking about her father made her sick, worse then when she was a human. She stood up and ran into the bathroom.
She went into one of the stalls not locking the door, but picked up the seat and throw up into the toilet. "Oh not again." She whined as she threw up some more water. No food went into the toilet, only liquid. This went on for a few more minutes before she flushed the toilet and went over to the sink, trying to rinse her mouth. It could have been worse, it could have been food, but it still had a terrible favor to it.

When Catt saw Christine head for the bathroom in a rush she sat there in shock for a moment. In Catt's head she was debating whether or not to check on her. True she had only known the woman for a few moments, but there didn't seem to be anyone else around to go and check on her. This left Catt worried. So Catt decided to do the good Samaritan thing and see if she was alright.
All eyes followed her as she made her way to the bathroom, she hoped whatever it was that they were looking at, was worth the staring. She slipped silently into the bathroom and pressed herself against the far wall, looking over to Christine rinsing out her mouth at the sink. Christine looked shaken, not only physically but mentally as well. This had Catt's stomach doing back flips.
Features in another frown Catt didn't know if she was stepping over any unseen boundaries.
"Christine," She spoke softly as if not to startle her. "Are you alright? I have some gum if you need it?" A small gesture, but it was all Catt could really do for her.

Christine looked over at Catt, surprised that she was in the bathroom with her now. "Just an upset stomach." She answered before smiling for once. "Yes please." Her mouth tasted the nasty flavor of only liquid in her mouth. She wished for the gum more then ever. "Catt." She looked around the room, nobody was in the bathroom but them. "I am this way because I made a vampire angry at me and she turned me into a vampire." She paused before adding, "Please don't be scared... to be honest I am scared." She answered back before adding, "It reminds me of my father when he abused me, I wanted to stay human so bad but when death came to me I was willing to piss the women off and she cursed me with this."
Her face looked pale, the makeup was wearing off. She then added, "I am from France you see, that is why I was here so long. To run away from my father, and my mother who didn't help me when I needed her most. I guess I am just screwed up." She looked down at the ground before adding, "I get to thank them though, because if my father hadn't done with he had, I would have probably been as spoiled as the other rich kids out there." She looked in the mirror. "I hate being this... I can't even see the sun anymore, I used to get up at 8:00AM, now I get up around 8:00PM." She felt like talking, she couldn't help herself. "I'm sorry for ranting about myself, I just felt like I had to let it out."

Catt did the first thing that was came natural to her. She walked over to Christine and patted her on the shoulder. Sure it was corny, and a little unnecessary but she thought it was better then leaving her to feel all left alone. When Christine mentioned she was vampire it left no chills running across her body, in all honesty it barely even shook her at all. Ever since vampires had come out of the closet there was little to be surprised by, and they really didn't strike any fear in the spell-stress' heart. She just simply felt saddened by Christine's story. She herself could imagine giving up the sun for one day, much less a troubled eternity. Catt knitted her brows and face the girl, there was no smile or frown to be found, just a sullen expression.
"I'm sorry you had to go through all of that." She said, really meaning it. "It must of been horrible, I know I grew up with an abusive father too." Except Catt's was an adopted father, who really never had a connection to her at all. Catt looked around the bathroom and scanned under the stalls for any feet. No one seemed to be around.
"So this vampire just changed you and left you?" Catt couldn't imagine starting a new life without any kind of direction at all. It was must of been crippling to not know what to expect at any given time.

Christine just stood there, looking in the mirror. Boy was she a mess. It felt nice to have a friend patting her on the shoulder though. She looked at Catt, not sure of what to say. "They are terrible." She paused before adding, "You had an abusive father too?" She was somewhat surprised, she knew others had them but she didn't think she would run into another person that had. "Well sort of." She answered Catt back before adding, "She left me after the three days, and just appeared to me again, thanks to an old... another vampire." She would have said friend, but she really didn't know what she would call Luke at this time. She tried to pull herself out of the thought of Luke and looked in the mirror. Make up was all smeared, there was no point in keeping it on.
She turned on the water and washed the rest of the makeup off of her face. Then she turned it off and dried her hands. "She just left, and I found her one day again at the cliffs. I really don't know how it happened, but she really seemed bothered when she found out that I hadn't fed on any human for blood." She stared in the mirror. "It hurts like crap, and it has this weird flavor, but it the thought still makes me sick." So did the thought of her father abusing her. Christine was still getting used to being a vampire, and she couldn't help but think to herself how much she hated it.
