Rose and Christine have left Pete's and are driving to the beach. They are in Rose's new SUV and are heading out to watch the waves. A favorite past time for both of them. Well, at least that's what Christine told Rose when she mentioned going to the beach. Rose has finally met her first friend here in Jamerson Falls and is happy. She thinks Christine is the most beautiful woman she's ever seen. So far, Rose has not found any flaws in her new friend. Could that be about to change?
Rose pulls down off the road and parks the SUV in a nice spot. The air is still warm but it seems to be building up to a storm. When they left the Club (Pete's) Rose noticed the air was charged with ions and the smell of the night air felt like rain was coming. There was a light breeze blowing which at times got a little stronger and blew their hair around a little. The curses of long hair at times!
*This looks like a good place to park. I have got to take these high heels off though. I think I'll just go barefoot and feel the sand between my toes. I love that! Don't you?* she asked Christine as she reached her right hand down to slide off the high heels. Once she had them off she put them on the floor behind her seat then opened up her car door.
Rose puts the keys into her jeans pocket and as soon as Christine is out she pushes the lock on her drivers side door to secure the vehicle. Although chances of being robbed out here are pretty slim it's always a good idea to be safe.
She walked around the front of the vehicle and stood still just breathing the air deep into her lungs. Her chest raised a little as she took in the air then it lowered as she let it out. She had her eyes closed and smiled. She felt so good right now.
In the near distance you could hear the waves as they rolled into the sand. Rose turned to Christine as she opened her eyes. There seemed to be a little mist in the air now but it could have been cast off from the waves coming in, she wasn't sure but even if it started raining she didn't care. She didn't mind the rain and it usually felt good on her skin.
*Let's go down and walk in the sand* She said excitedly. She loved the feel of the cool, squishy sand as it made its way up between her toes. Her feet felt so alive and it was the best feeling in the world. Almost as nice as when she used to walk in the soggy mud back home.
When she was little and as soon as the storm passed, her Mom used to let her go outside and walk around in the mud puddles. She always had the best time. Running and laughing as she splashed and paraded around. Her feet would be caked with mud by the time she was finished but her Mom just got out the garden hose and cleaned them off. Rose remembered how cold that garden hose water could get but it was soooo worth it!
