Thomas had decided to go for a run down by the cliffs, he new they would be pretty empty this time of night. Thomas really enjoyed the wide open spaces up here, and the fact that the tree line wasn't too far away. He had decided to take the form of an Eastern Coyote tonight, they were pretty common in New Jersey. Thomas was considering doing some hunting, maybe some rabbits or any of the variety of mice in the area. Yeah mice he thought, they were more of a challenge.
Thomas put his nose to the ground to find the scents he was looking for. He wondered around for as stealthily as possible for a bit until he finally caught the scent of a mouse, he hunkered down low to the ground. Thomas looked around till he caught sight of the mouse, a Meadow Jumping Mouse to be specific. These things were fast he thought, he tried to approach as silently as possible.
There it heard him and bolted, and Thomas bolted after it. He gave chase to the mouse, it was probably headed for a hole in the ground somewhere, but Thomas was closing the distance. Suddenly the mouse dove and disappeared from sight, damn Thomas thought, he got away. Oh well, there is always another mouse. Suddenly Thomas caught another scent, the scent of a fellow shifter in fact. Hmm... Thomas thought, I wonder who is out tonight?

Jordan paws hit the ground beneath her as she jogged alongside the cliff. It wasn't uncommon of her to take the form of a fox, she knew shifting into a dog would be risking it. she hated when kids tried to bring her into their homes and adopt her as a new pet. Jordan had been through that experience once, and she certainly wasn't going to go through it again. Right now, she felt free and very content. There was no other feeling in the world then the feel of the slight breeze rustling through her fur. This feeling probably was only common for shifters and she probably wouldn't trade her abilities for anything in the world.
It was then that she picked on a scent, one she was getting very familiar with since she had moved to Jameson falls. She lifted her head slightly as she slowed down her pace, inching closer to the source. It wasn't long before she came across him. Her tail wagged slightly as she tried to show him she didn't mean any harm. She wasn't sure how he was going to react so she kept her distance slightly as she studied him. Jordan was a very curious young woman, even in her shifted forms she wouldn't hesitate too much to explore the world around her.

Thomas glanced around and noticed a fox wagging its tail at him, her tail he corrected himself. She was obviously telling him that she meant no harm, good he thought he wasn't in the mood for some sort of territory dispute. He decided to respond with his own display of good will, and to be cute. Thomas rolled over and got back to his feet, then repeated it in the other direction, so he wound up in his original position. Thomas then began panting and reared up on his hind legs and bounced in circles. Thomas was really putting on a show but decided to sit back down and see if she would reciprocate the playful performance.
Eventually Thomas shifted back to human form and stood up saying, "My name is Thomas, whats your name?" Thomas wondered what this female shifter looked like in human form. Most of the female shifters he met were his half-sisters friends, so he tended not to hit on them, most of the time. Thomas can't remember the last time he encountered a female shifter that he had met on his own. "Beautiful night for a run isn't it."

It was really quite a show, and there was no doubt that Jordan enjoined it. It was kind of cute really, even with the knowledge that the coyote was another shifter the display was a sight to see. Jordan stood up on her hind legs and jumped around before she landed back down on all fours and wagged her tail again. She wasn't the most creative of people when put on the spot but she knew she had to reply some how. She spun around in a few circles before following suit and shifting to her human form as she listened to Thomas speak.
"It's nice to meet you. I'm Jordan." she said with a slight laugh as she extended her hand. "and your right. It is a beautiful night." Jordan really couldn't ask for a better night. "So what brings you out here on a night like this? Also, I'm glad your not a vamp. There are too many of those crawling around here if you ask me. It's comforting to meet another shifter at least though." she said with a soft smile.

"And as for what brings me out here tonight, I was preparing a legal brief, and needed to get out to go for a run." Thomas had been preparing the brief for most of the day, to be honest he had gotten bored. He enjoyed his job while in the court room, but man did he hate all of the paper work. Thomas needed to hire some associates, that way he could delegate all the boring work to them.
"So Jordan, lovely name by the way, what brings you out here tonight?" Jordan was rather pretty he thought, I wonder if she is currently unattached. Thomas stopped and thought if there was something wrong with him, but that seemed to be the first place he went. Then again that was easy to do with so many beautiful women in the world, it really wasn't fair to him. Man I'm a cocky bastard, but really I have every right to be, Thomas thought.

"A Legal brief..." Jordan smiled slightly as she looked down at the ground briefly before she lifted her eyes ."Well that sounds like....fun..." Sarcasm had always been her strong point. Jordan couldn't keep a straight face, she was generally a very happy person, always gracing those around her with a gorgeous smile and soft laugh. It wasn't like her to be so beat down. Now though, she was at peace...but the past week had been hell.
"To answer your question, I'm out here tonight because I wanted to just escape the stress of life. It's nice to be able to think. Clearing the mind is a relief every once in a while you know." she sighed with a smile. She could already feel the worries and stresses of her life escaping her. It felt good to be out there. Jordan knew she needed to be getting out more. It seemed she had been so consumed in her busy life. It was a shame she wasn't allowing herself enough time in the week to just escape it all. She had managed to tonight though...and she would take her time before she came back to reality.

Thomas certainly knew the benefits of clearing ones mind. Actually that had been the reason for his little excursion tonight in animal form, that legal brief was beginning to give him one hell of a headache. "Yeah, I hear you, everyone needs to get out and clear their heads every once in a while. Either that or we would end up with a lot more crazy people in the world. Actually now that I think about it, maybe enough people don't clear their heads." Thomas chuckled a little bit, he certainly was glad he was a shifter, he couldn't imagine a life with out his ability to assume the form of animals. Maybe thats why so many normal humans are so crazed and wound so tight, they aren't shifters. Then again Thomas was glad the world wasn't filled with shifters, it'd make him less special. Plus crazy people help keep me employed as a lawyer he thought.
"I myself have found the cliffs very relaxing. Its very soothing to stare out over the ocean at night, smell the sea air." Thomas decided now was the time to get to know his fellow shifter here. "So tell me, why haven't we crossed paths before? There is no way I would have forgotten such a beautiful young women such as yourself." Plus they were both shifters they had to have at least a couple of friends in common, Thomas thought. Maybe some of his friends were hiding her from him, sometimes they were jealous of his remarkable track record with the ladies.
"I hope you do not think this too forward of me but..." Of course too forward Thomas thought, is just another way of saying self confidence. "... but are you currently seeing anyone, because if not, I would love to escort you out for a night on the town sometime." Thomas thought he would definitely turn some heads if he had the opportunity take Jordan out, she was quite the looker.

Jordan smiled as she listened to him speak. Everything he was saying sounded just about right. Jordan herself could not imagine life without being a shifter and the ability to just escape reality and clear her mind. She assumed that she was so able to connect to nature so well because of her abilities to shift into whatever animal she could concentrate on. "Your right about crazy people though. We need some entertainment as well with them. I think life would be utterly boring with about the abnormal side to life." she smirked slightly.
Jordan found Thomas rather nice and could not help but blush a little as he complimented her. It was then that he asked her if she was seeing anyone that was when her mind wandered to Emma. They had not made it offical yet but she knew that there was the start of something there. She had never really done anything with a woman before...but after all the heart break from her past relationship with her last boyfriend she found the relationship with Emma rather comforting. "Actually I am. But that should not discourage us from grabbing a drink as friends. You seem like you won't have any trouble finding a woman though." she said with a smile hoping that she would not hurt his feelings too badly.

Thomas was disappointed at hearing that Jordan was already seeing someone, she's probably a lesbian anyways, Thomas thought to himself, who else could resist this? "Well its my loss I assure you, and no you're right. There is nothing stopping us from getting a drink. I'm always in the market for new friends, especially fellow shifters." I also never have trouble finding a woman of course, I'm me. "And just so you know, its actually much easier to find a woman if you're with another beautiful woman." Beautiful women seem to think if you arrive with a pretty woman, but leave with them, it means they're prettier. Vanity is such an easy weakness to exploit, its almost like shooting fish in a barrel. You know, really hot fish. What? Exploiting weaknesses is what I do, I'm a lawyer! "Strange logic I know, but it seems to work."
"Anyways, if your done clearing your head for the evening, did you have a place in mind to get drinks?" Hopefully she wouldn't suggest some dive bar, Thomas preferred nicer places that served top shelf alcohol. But it was always polite to ask the lady if she had a preferred place in mind. Besides she might know of a shifter hangout that I'm not aware of. Although it had better be a place his half-sister Brianna doesn't hangout, she always gets touchy when Thomas hangs-out around her friends. Even though she likes to hangout with my friends Thomas reminded himself. "So Jordan what is the name of the person your dating, maybe they are someone I know?" Thomas wondered if Jordan noticed his lack of pronouns in that statement, true Thomas doesn't know if Jordan was gay, but a good lawyer never assumes facts not in evidence.

"Again I do welcome the compliments. Certainly boosts the confidence." Jordan nodded as Thomas suggested they grab drinks. She was looking forward to getting to know more of her kind. "Do you have a preferences on places you want to go?" Since Jordan was a bartender when she wasn't on her days off she was pretty familiar with the area and their bars. She knew what ones to avoid and what ones actually understood the art of bartending.
"So Jordan what is the name of the person your dating, maybe they are someone I know?" Jordan smiled as Emma came to her mind. It was so strange to her. It seemed only a few days ago she was crying over her recent break up with her boyfriend but now that Emma was in her life she found herself smiling again. "Her name is Emma." she said softly a little unsure of what Thomas was going to think. "It's actually a funny story....I didn't expect to fall someone like her. Things just happened though. Kind of like it was meant to be. I had just recently broken up with my boyfriend."

I knew it Thomas thought, she was with a another woman. What a shame Thomas thought, another hot woman lost to the other team, guys like her ex-boyfriend always have to ruin it for the rest of us. Thomas knew better than to try to woo a woman that was already seeing someone, he may be a dog, but that's just bad form.
Especially when she was with another woman, so many other men had a fantasy about that, but Thomas knew that was just stupid. One if you are ever going to get in on that performance, its by invitation only. Two trying to get a lesbian to go out with you is an exorcise in futility, much like trying to bring down a brick wall by banging your head against it.
"Well if I may say so myself, this Emma is a very lucky woman, you're quite the looker Jordan." Thomas enjoyed tossing compliments at Jordan, she did so seem to enjoy them. "So Emma, do mind if I ask you if she is a fellow shifter?" Most of the women Thomas dates are usually normal humans, truth be told he doesn't meet that many available female shifters. "May I also say that what ever your ex-boyfriend did to lose you makes him the biggest moron in the world." Again Thomas thought very little of any man who could actually drive a woman over to the other team. Thomas was no saint of course, but he's never caused a woman to swear off men completely.
Time to change the subject Thomas, before she thinks your annoyance at her ex-boyfriend is directed at her. "Well as for preferences in places to grab a drink, I prefer nicer places, that serve the top shelf beverages." Thomas thought he would ask Jordan her preferences again, just so they can end up at a place they can both enjoy. "What about you, what are your preferences in a place to grab a drink at?"

"I don't have a problem with the nicer places. They know how to make cocktails properly." she smiled. "It's been a while since I have had a drink. I have been around plenty, know how to make everyone of them....I just would prefer not to have to make my own drinks. Reminds me too much of work. I know a bar not too far from here on the outskirts of town. If your up to that I can take you there." Jordan was looking forward to this. Although she didn't mean to be, she had been very introverted and hidden from the world lately. Rarely had she gone out for a drink with friends or made and effort to meet people. Life lately had just seemed exhausting and most of the time she preferred to be alone.
"I'm thinking the fasted way to go about getting there is to shift if you don't mind. It's not exactly like we drove cars to get here." she smirked. "Follow me and try to keep up." she winked before she was on all fours again running off down the path as a black lab, a form she often liked taking because it reminded her of a childhood dog she had. She looked back a few times to make sure her friend was following. Last things she wanted was to run too far ahead of him and miss out on grabbing drinks together.

Thomas smiled at Jordan, "Don't worry I'll keep up." Thomas watched Jordan assume the form of a black Labrador, and take off down a trail. Don't worry Thomas thought I've spent some time at the dog races I'll keep up. Thomas assumed the form of a greyhound, the fastest of the dog breeds, and raced after Jordan. Thomas had given her a bit of a head start, and noticed her looking back for him, well here he was gaining ground fast.
Thomas decided to play a little and passed her only to wait for her to catch up. Then he did it once more, but after that he kept pace with her. Although occasionally he would drop back a little only to race up to the other side of Jordan. Thomas was still in a playful mood. So he figured he might as well get it out now, because it was hard to order drinks as a dog. Plus animals weren't all that often allowed into bars he chuckled to himself, or at least he would have if not for the form he was currently in.
Thomas wasn't sure what bar Jordan was taking him to, he'd never really known there was a bar out this way. Thomas usually stuck to the bar in the Belva restaurant, as it was a great place to entertain clients. The reason Thomas hadn't suggested it was because he always spent so much time there as it was. Besides, he thought to himself, its time to get out and meet new people, like Jordan, and try new places. Between his job and taking care of his half-siblings, Thomas felt he was living a bit of a cloistered life. You know if cloisters allowed conjugal visits. Thomas' social life maybe a little slow right now, but at least his love life wasn't.

Jordan gave a soft smile as she kept running only to see Thomas catch up with her several times before speeding off. The Freedom that she felt when she shifted was amazing and she could definitely tell that Thomas was in a playful mood. That only encouraged Jordan to be just as playful. When she managed to catch up with him a few time she ran a circle around him before slowing back down. She really couldn't compare to the speed of a greyhound. It was good motivation to push herself though. It had been a while since she had raced another shifter. It seemed that her encounters with others like her were rare. She was aware of the packs of weres that were forming but it seemed that there were very few shifters in the area, or at least she hadn't met that many.
When she noticed Thomas pace was starting to slow down she decided to take the lead and lead him to a small park that was across the street from the bar she had in mind. Proctors was a small cozy cocktail bar that seemed like the prefect fit for the two of them. Jordan made sure she was in the shadows of a tree before she shifted back and looked at Thomas. "It's just right across the street. I hope it will work." Jordan made her way to the door and inside before the two of them were seated at a small table and handed drink menus. It was defiantly one of the nicer bars around towns. Dimly lit, attentive service and a small menus of snacks and desserts along with drinks.

Thomas followed Jordan into a park, he saw a sign for a cocktail bar across the street form the park called Proctor's. When Jordan shifted back into her lovely, stop that Thomas scolded himself, human form and told him it was just right across the street, Thomas followed suit. Now once again standing on two legs, and once again able to speak Thomas said, "I'm sure it will work just fine, a lovely woman such as yourself most likely has impeccable taste." Thomas didn't scold himself this time, calling Jordan lovely out loud was just giving her the complements she seemed to enjoy. Plus Thomas liked making any woman, lover or not, smile. Besides it would probably do Thomas some good to have female friends, besides his half-sister, maybe he'd learn to not be such a prick sometimes. Probably not, but one can dream, Thomas mused to himself.
Thomas followed Jordan into the bar and they were seated at a small table by a cocktail waitress and handed drink menus. Without even looking at the menu Thomas ordered, "I'll have a scotch, neat, whatever your most expensive label is will be fine. And of course whatever the lady will be having as well", Thomas said motioning to Jordan. After Jordan ordered Thomas added, "Please make sure there is no ice anywhere near my scotch, if there is I'll sue. I happen to be a very wealthy, charming, and handsome lawyer after all." The waitress giggled slightly as she walked away from the table, Thomas turned his head to watch her go, seeing if she'd look back. She did with a smile when she noticed Thomas staring after her. Thomas returned her smile before turning back around to Jordan, thinking that waitresses were like shooting fish in a barrel for him.
"So Jordan, what do you do for a living?", Thomas asked to get a conversation going.
