Shortly after ordering her drink Thomas decided to start to conversation. She smiled slightly as he asked about what she did for a living. Jordan couldn't help but want to respond that she "lived", but she didn't want to come off as a complete bum. "I'm a uncertified psychologist. Enabling alcoholics across the country and helping people forget their mistakes." her lips parted slightly as she wondered if he would get what she meant or not. The description sounded a hold lot better then just a bar tender, "In other words I bartend." Jordan thanked the waitress as she brought the drinks out before taking a sip of the one that was given to her. Jordan could have made her bloody Mary slightly better but she wasn't going to complain she had far worse before. "So what about you?"
Jordan was enjoying this time although she got the feeling that she might bore her new friend to tears. There really was nothing exciting about her life other then the fact she had the ability to shift into various animals. That thing seemed to lose its magic when you were talking to another shifter though.

Thomas laughed at Jordan's description of her job. He had heard similar descriptions from other bartenders in the past. "Well, no need to sell bar tending short, it is an old an noble profession. You know, most men like their bartenders more than they do their own wives. And that's usually when the bartender is male." Thomas smiled at Jordan, "I bet your customers just love you. Especially more than their wives", he said the last part with a wink. Though Thomas had to imagine all the drunks someone as pretty as Jordan had to fight off. "Joking aside, do you have to fight off a lot of drunks? I imagine you do, with how pretty you are."
Thomas put on a faux serious look in response to Jordan's inquiry about what he does. He replied in a faux stodgy voice, "Well madame I am a very serious lawyer, as you may have heard me tell the waitress." Thomas let out a chuckle, "In all seriousness I am a lawyer, mostly corporate law. But I have been known to do some personal injury and minor criminal cases. I've also done some traffic court cases." Though most of the traffic court cases he did pro bono, because traffic court cases were easy and barely required an attorney most of the time, and because he didn't like working hard for free. "But to be perfectly honest, the traffic court stuff is usually pro bono, because its the easy stuff."
Thomas decided to change the subject back to her, because he didn't want to bore her with talk about his job. To be honest, it bored Thomas. If it wasn't such good money, he probably wouldn't do it. "So where do you work?", Thomas looked around, "Its not here is it? I'd hate to treat someone to drinks at a place they work at." Thomas was proud of how he subtly slipped in that he would be paying, not like this was a date or anything. Thomas just had to keep up his skills with the ladies, friend or no. Besides even Thomas' female friends loved it when he doted on them.
