Falling in love didn't seem appealing to Maggie in the least bit. In fact falling into anything seemed like a rather moronic action. When it came to love Maggie knew she might as well handed over a stake knowing that now whoever that person was, they were perfectly capable of shoving it straight through her heart. Choosing to suppress that emotional flaw seemed like a perfectly reasonable thing. She didn't want to take part in love in any form or fashion but of recently, ever since Luke had come back into her life, she couldn't help wonder if maybe she was allowing her human emotions to get the best of her. He was all she could ever think of. She allowed a few of her fingers to run across the coffee table before rubbing them together, feeling for any dust that might have happened to be on the surface. She wondered how he even managed to keep this place spotless. Organized and clean seemed to be the last two words she would describe him as.
Her eyes wandered up to his as she tried to carefully place the words she wanted to say together. She had never been this tongue tied in her life but there was good reason for it at least now. There was always that fear in the back of her mind that she would say the wrong thing and be killed. The thought that luke held power over her disgusted her, but yet she couldn't stop staring at him, thinking of how much she wanted to know him. "I came here today because I wanted to know where I stand." she said firmly before she looked down at the glass of blood that she had poured for herself. "I mean you might as well tell me why I was turned in the first place. I think I deserve to know now." Maggie wrapped her fingers around the stem of the glass before she brought it up to her lips and lifted her eyes. She would have rather the blood been fresh, but cleaning up the body was such a bother.

Luke stood by the door with his arms folded as he stared at Maggie, wondering why she was here. Sure she was his creation but why had she bothered coming to his house at the middle of the night? His eyes watched as he fingers ran across the coffee table and then rubbed together. The place was clean, Luke knew that much. He, himself, wasn't the type of person that looked like they would keep things clean but he did, mainly it was because he wanted to give a good impression to the ladies but it was also because his mother had always kept the house clean when he was a child. This was his way of showing respect to her.
Maggie's eyes had wandered up to his and as he stared into her eyes he tried desperately not to leap on her and kiss her lips, his emotions were very mixed right now, they had been ever since his creation had came back into his life. Then Maggie explained why she was there and Luke nodded slightly, his eyes watching as she began to drink the glass of blood. "Okay, you deserve to know." He sighed and walked into the kitchen to get a cup of coffee before coming back to the room where Maggie was. Luke looked at her and sighed again as he sat down, his eyes fixed on her again. "I wanted you. I won't deny that. The night we met, I wanted you and I wanted you to be with me." His eyes looked at the cup of coffee in his hands as he continued speaking, "I also wanted a creation. Life gets lonely when you can live forever. I wanted someone that could be mine, you know? Someone I could be with forever. But I destroyed your life, and rather than facing that, I left."

I wanted someone that could be mine, you know? Someone I could be with forever. But I destroyed your life, and rather than facing that, I left." Maggie looked up at him, her lips parting slightly as she took in each one of his words. It hadn't been what she was expecting, in fact she wasn't really thinking she had a chance to be cared for, but his explanation had just prove otherwise."and how about now Luke, how do you feel about me now?" her eyes were now locked with his, she tried desperately to hide the hint of desperation as she held herself together. "What do I mean to you now?" Maggie could not be sure if she wanted him because he was her creator or if it was because all memories of that night in 1924 had been consuming her mind.
"I was a selfish floozy back then Luke. Naive and reckless. I'm sure not much has changed but I don't understand what you exactly saw in me that night." Maggie had always wondered why her creator had left, but she was at least thankful that he had at least left a note. She hadn't even been that kind to Christine. Lord only knew where she was now. Maggie although she wouldn't admit it felt guilty for treating her so poorly. If she was going to create another vampire, she would at least put a little more effort into it. Luke was an ass but at least he had a heart and been thoughtful enough to leave Maggie with something. She had been a bitch, and left Christine with nothing. Maggie looked down slightly as she came back into the present. Her fingers tracing the rim of her glass as she gave a slight pause. "I kept your note you know." she was too scared to look up at him this point. She didn't know what was going on or why she felt so weak.

Luke looked up at Maggie in time to see her look at him and part her lips slightly, she spoke again and asked how he felt about her now. He couldn't help but smile before taking a sip of his coffee, his eyes fixed on her as she told him about how she had been when they met. Luke couldn't really remember much about the past but that night was stuck in his mind, especially now that his eyes were fixed on his blonde creation. He wished he could have made things right between them on the night he had changed her, perhaps things would have been different if he had have stayed with her when she was turning, been a real creator and stayed by her side, been a real man and loved his girl. Luke sighed again as he realised his mistakes.
"I kept your note you know." Luke looked at her and frowned slightly before putting his cup onto the table and walking over to her. He knelt down in front of the blonde woman and took her hands in his own, "right now, I want a chance to fix the mistakes I made. Being your creator is one thing, but being the man that stands by your side is another. That night, you wanted me to stay. Can we not have that relationship now?" He rubbed her hands with his thumbs before gently kissing her cheek, "I think that I love you."

Love? The word instantly made her freeze up. She was confused and taken back. She didn't know how to respond as he kissed her check. Maggie wanted to kiss him so badly but the fear that she was actually falling in love seemed unbearable and she couldn't stand it much longer. "Vampires don't love." she managed to say sharply as she found herself getting up from her seat. One minute she was wanting to feel his touch so and then next she was wanting to go running off in the opposite direction. Maybe she didn't want this. Or maybe, she didn't want to actually face the fact that she was falling in love with him too. All those years love and compassion had been a weakness. Another thing to cripple her other then silver, the sun, and stakes. She had been careful to guard her heart but lately she seemed to be breaking at the seams every time she looked into his eyes.
"Maybe we shouldn't go rushing into things. You made me into a different person Luke. It's just all this time you kept me wondering, guessing about that night. Love is just another thing to break our hearts luke. I mean who are we kidding. You could have been glamouring me all night long. Of course I thought I was in love that night...you were a vampire and I was young, stupid, and naive." she found herself yelling at him. Almost as if raising her voice would help aid in her fight against the emotions that seemed to be surfacing. When she had realized what she had done she tensed up. All she could remember now was the night in the woods and how close he was to killing her. "Luke I'm sorry..." she said in almost a whisper as blood rolled down her pale cheeks. She should have never opened her mouth...her life was now in his hands.

"Vampires don't love." His heart sank a little as she said the exact opposite of what he had wanted to say, his eyes closing as she stood up and moved away. Then she started talking about that night and how love was a weakness and almost instantly Luke opened his eyes and stood up, staring at her as she started to yell. He frowned and looked away before hearing her say sorry. His eyes fixed back on her, compassion shown inside them as he saw the blood tears run down her cheeks. "Not once, that night, did I ever glamour you. I could have done, but I didn't and I don't know why. I guess I wanted to know the real you and not some puppet I was controlling." [/i] His hands slipped into the pockets of his jeans as he decided to open up to her. "Ever since that night, i've thought about you and wished I could have done things differently." A sigh escaped his mouth as he gave her one last look before walking back into the kitchen, "vampires do love, Maggie. It's not wrong. It keeps us from being monsters. It gives us a purpose to carry on with life." Luke stared out of the window that was near the sink, "I do love you..."[/blockquote][/size]

"Love me? How can you be so sure that you love me? You don't even know me Luke. You probably don't even know my last name." Maggie didn't mean to sound bitter but she was doing everything in her power to stop her emotions from completely taking over. Once she started to fall there was no grantee that she was going to be caught or dropped by Luke. "Luke don't pretend that you know me because you don't. You were never around. You left that night Luke...you left me with a damn note and nothing else." crimson tears began to stream down her cheek. It had been quite a shock to wake up a few day later only to discover her new hunger for blood. She didn't take to her new life very well at first. In fact she had murdered her current boyfriend at the time due to her inability to control her hunger. something she had managed to suppress until that moment. "You destroyed my life Luke. You took advantage of me and destroyed my life!!! Maggie now found herself glaring deep into his eyes.
She slapped him hard across the face as her anger grew. "If you had loved me then you would have stuck around. I only asked you when I was breathing to do so." Maggie knew she loved him but right now the anger had managed to take a stronger hold of her. She hated him at that moment. In fact she hope that he would kill her right then and there, long before she could allow her love to take over. She didn't want to feel vulnerable.

"Love me? How can you be so sure that you love me? You don't even know me Luke. You probably don't even know my last name." Luke continued to stare out of the window and sighed as Maggie spoke to him, her voice sounding bitter. This wasn't how he wanted things, not at all. He didn't want to argue with her, he wanted to love her and embrace her in his arms. He wanted to feel her against him like that night when they had first met. Right now Luke wanted to kiss her and as she spoke all he could think about was taking her face in his hands and kissing those soft lips of hers. His fingers touched his lips as he allowed himself to remember that night.
"You destroyed my life Luke. You took advantage of me and destroyed my life!" Luke turned to look at her, staring into her eyes with sadness as she glared into his. Then she slapped him and mentioned that he should have stuck around if he had wanted her. Hadn't he just said he regretted doing that and it was only because he couldn't face what he had done to her? A sigh escaped his lips as he walked towards her and cupped her face in his hands, "I don't know how many times I have to tell you but i'm sorry for what I did and i'm sorry for leaving you. I've thought about you every single day since I turned you and if I could turn back time and have done things differently then I would. I would have stayed with you and we could have been happy."
Sighing again he looked at her lips, wanting to kiss them so badly but instead he just let go of her and took a step back, "I know that I did wrong, but I do love you Maggie Evans, and if you can't see that I want to make things right then you might as well stake me right now because I am trying."

It felt like her heart was breaking in two as she stared into his eyes. His touch and scent made every part of her only want him more, but yet she kept pulling herself back. She had come here to figure out if she was loved and that was now evident. You would have thought Luke had given her a death wish with the way she was acting though. It was clear that Maggie didn't want anything to do with this. The fear in her eyes seemed to grow by the second as she felt her body tense. "I'm sorry..." she whispered as she looked into his eyes. She began to take a few steps back as she tried to process everything that was going on. She didn't have anything more to say now. The fear was crippling her.
Maggie hadn't realized she had taken off until she was a good five miles from his house. Tears didn't hesitate to pour down her cheeks before she collapsed on the dirt floor and dug her hands into the ground, letting out a cry of desperation. She was confused....unable to understand what she really wanted. She refused to let her emotions take over but the harder she found with them the weaker she became. She loved him...but at that time she didn't know how to. It had been so long since she had loved someone.
