Don't pick up the phone (Luke)

The rain was thick and the promise of rain hung in the air. Alex took a deep breath before walking farther down the pier. She didn’t know what she was doing out here or really why she was even out at 2:30 am. In her past she had discovered it wasn’t the best idea to go out late at night. But hell, who was she kidding? Alex never cared about that stuff; plus danger was fun in her eyes. ”Who am I kidding?” She said a frustrated tone taking over her voice. ”Just admit it Alex, you just wanted to see if that damn vampire that attacked you would show up again.” Taking a deep breath she stepped over to the wooden railing on the bridge above the water. ”And I seem to be making a habit out of talking to myself...”

Laughing she hung her head resting it on her arms. Vaguely she heard a noise coming from somewhere behind her but for some reason she couldn’t get herself to lift up her head. Sighing she gave up trying. ”Probably just an animal.” She thought as she looked out over the water, the sight was breath taking. The moon casted a beautiful reflection across the water along with the storm clouds that were forming and gathering around each other. Soon the night would be fully dark and she would start her hunt. Alex had a better time stalking through the darkness, probably because her favourite animals to turn into were usually predatory.

Finally feeling as if she could move, she lifted her head up happily stretching her arms above her head. Her muscles were tensed and she wasn’t sure why, she couldn’t sense anything around her. Turning around she flicked her eyes back and forth, not seeing anything she turned around and leaned against the railing again. Suddenly she didn’t feel like hunting for the bastard of a vampire.

Luke looked up at the sky to see if it was still dark before looking at the clock hung up on the wall, 2:30am, just enough time to go for a meal. A smirk appeared on his face as he grabbed his leather jacket from the back of his chair and put it on, the people in the room glancing at him as he did so. It wasn't really any of their business about him leaving but he figured everyone wondered where someone was going if they just suddenly left a place. Still, Luke didn't care, most of them would be a snack to him sooner or later anyway. He had no time for them, and that is exactly why he stormed out of the building without much thought. His eyes glanced up and down the street before finally settling on a female walking down the pier. Needless to say, the smirk on his face grew bigger at the sight of her.

At vampire speed he darted down to where she was and heard her talking to herself, he laughed slightly before having to hide as she turned around, seemingly hearing him. It was never good to get caught out by a potential meal, especially not when you didn't want the chase, and right now Luke wanted a quick kill so he could get out of there. Finally the female turned around and Luke just stared at her, watchin as she looked at the water. His eyes staying fixed on her as he waited for a time to approach and kill. No doubt it was going to be soon. Luke was getting bored already. Then the female stretched her arms and Luke tilted his head, wondering why she had decided to do that. Humans were strange to him. He moved into the shadows a little more as she turned around and seemingly looked at her surroundings, not that she was going to see anything. Yet.

When the female had finally turned around and leaned against the railing again Luke stepped forward out of the shadows. He moved closer towards her until they were almost touching, "I would advice you not to move." His hands took hold of her waist and he smirked again as he leaned forward to whisper in her ear, "it would most certainly lead to your death."

Alex had kept her ears strained since she had heard the noise and it turned out it was a good idea because she just picked up the slight movement of wind which meant she was up against a vampire. The thought intrigued her, maybe something interesting would come out of the night after all, and of course she now had the chance to piss off a vampire which was a bonus is her mind. Alex listened to the vampire as he put his hands on her waste and leaned in. A devilish smile crossed her face as she looked around for a bird to quickly change into.

Her eyes were heated as he leaned into her; no way in hell was another vampire going to feed off of her. Not tonight or any night for the matter. Finally spotting a seagull she put her plan in motion. Slowly she turned around in his arms making sure that her body lightly rubbed off of his. When she was fully turned around to the point where she could look into his eyes she smiled. ”Not tonight babe.” She said tapping his face lightly with her hand before changing into the bird and flying a few feet away then changing back into her human form. ”You vampires are getting rather full of yourselves if you don’t even check the scent of your target to make sure they’re actually human.” A mocking tone filled her voice as she walked slightly closer to him.

Alex let her eyes slid over him slowly; he was built and rather good looking. But that didn’t matter right now, because he had pissed her off and it was play time, which was also pay back time. She had never figured out why some vampires like to try and scare or fool around with their prey before feeding, though in this case it had given her a chance to get away so she was happy. ”Aren’t you guys supposed to be drinking some kind of fake blood now? Shame on you, you’re going to cause some kind of mob of humans if you keep this up.” Wagging her finger in the air she watched his face, her smile never leaving its place even though she could tell that her body was heated with anger.

”Now another vampire decided it would be a good idea to feed on me a couple days ago.” she said tapping her neck where the bit marks were. ”I don’t plan on letting that happen again anytime soon.” She finished a challenging light taking over her eyes. She could tell he was a rather old vampire and she knew that she couldn’t take him on, so if it came down to it, she knew she would flee. But first, she wanted some fun.

Luke felt the female turn around in his arms and their eyes locked onto each other's for a second as she let him know nothing was happening tonight. Then she changed and Luke raise an eyebrow as he watched the seagull which had once been a female person fly a few feet away an then change back. The girl spoke again, mocking him for not checking if she was human or not. He had to agree, it was a stupid thing to do but his bloodlust had taken control and he hadn't exactly been thinking about anything other than killing her. His eyes stayed locked onto her as she stepped closer towards him.

Right now he wondered how her scent hadn't warned him about what she was or why he had even been stupid enough to have given her enough time to change into the bird. Stupid things. He had to live with those choices and as she stood there Luke checked her out; she wasn't bad, not exactly good either... Bedable though. Oh yes, looking at her and taking in every detail he could see, Luke could definitely tell that he would have her share his bed. Then again he wanted most girls in bed so this wasn't much of a difference.

Personally he had never had a fight with a shifter before but he knew they were weaker than the vampires so if she tried anything then he would just snap her neck. Made things simple enough. Then he's drink her blood after. The girl spoke about the synthetic blood that the vampires were supposed to drink and even mentioned something about a mob of humans hunting him down. Luke raised an eyebrow and stared at her, watching her finger as she moved it, his eyes only looking away when she mentioned another vampire. He stared at her and glanced at the area where she tapped her neck as she explained she wouldn't let another vampire feed from her anytime soon. His eyes fixed on her and once again he raised an eyebrow, his mind baffled by what had just happened. This shifter had got the better of him and he didn't like that. He hated it when people did that.

Luke tilted his head slightly, "well now, isn't this interesting. A little shifter that messes with vampires. Sweetheart, this town is full of them. In fact, we are all over this world. Don't get too cocky otherwise you may meet someone that would kill you instantly." He paused and smirked, "as for me, i'm interested in you and want to know as much as I can. So, for now, you live."

”Yes, surprise, surprise I can turn into a bird.” She couldn’t stop herself from laughing at the expression that crossed his face. To her it looked like a cross between being pissed and interested, and it kind of made Alex wonder how those two feelings went together. Raising an eyebrow she took a few more steps towards him her green eyes sparkling, he was a good looking man, but then again most vampires around these parts were. He looked like he was well built under the layer of clothing that he wore and his face was appealing enough. Tilting her head Alex pictured what he might look like, mhm; yes, defiantly appealing enough.

Shaking her head Alex returned her attention to him, this wasn’t the time to be thinking about stuff like that, this could quickly turn into a dangerous situation for her. When he finally spoke Alex only half listened, she was more focused on looking for a rout she could use to escape if things got out of hands. She knew very well that she couldn’t take on a vampire that was as old as the one in front of her, but that didn’t mean she wouldn’t give him something to think about and remember her by before she made a run for it.

”Wow! Really? They’re vampire all over this town? I never would have noticed if you didn’t just point it out!” Mock surprise covered her face; she wanted to see how far she could push this male before he snapped. ”Well, I’ve had a good run, if one wants to kill me, I’ll make sure to give them something to remember me by before they finish. Unlike like you, I actually check my surroundings and stay alert.” Smiling, Alex pulled her hair back over her neck, she knew the two small puncture wounds would disappear soon, but she still didn’t like how they felt and how humans looked at them if they managed to see them. Of course Alex just gave them the finger and continued walking but it was still a pain in the ass.

”Awe, how considerate of you.” Rolling her eyes Alex leaned against the railing of the pier making sure to keep her eyes locked on him so she could see if he was about to make a move. ”And who said I would tell you anything? I’m not like one of the petty humans around here that you vampires can push around and get whatever you want from.” Standing up she walked right up to him her face inches from his, her eyes burning with anger and slight hatred. ”so, you’re out of luck.” Taking a step back, Alex looked over to the back yard of one of the house and spotting a dog she changed into it. She didn’t really want to deal with him much more so giving him one of the lope sided grins that dogs got she turned around and started to walk away.

"Wow! Really? They’re vampire all over this town? I never would have noticed if you didn’t just point it out!" Luke stared at her as she spoke and continued to push him to his breaking point. "Well, I’ve had a good run, if one wants to kill me, I’ll make sure to give them something to remember me by before they finish. Unlike like you, I actually check my surroundings and stay alert." His head tilted to one side as she smiled and carried on talking, his eyes never moving from her. The girl rambled on and on about how she wasn't like the other humans before finally proving it by walking up to him and putting her face inches from his. Luke stared into her eyes and laughed before watching her step back and change into a dog. He raised an eyebrow and watched as she started to walk away.

That was the last straw. He was way past breaking point now. Suddenly Luke was stood in front of the dog and he got ready to attack, there was no way this bitch would win this. She was going down. "Time to be put to sleep little doggy. All bitches need to be put down eventually." He laughed slightly before aiming a kick for the dog's head, hoping to hit the female hard enough so that she would fight back. Then the fun would begin and he'd make sure this bitch never messed with another vampire again.

Suddenly he was in front of her and she had a split second to feel scared before her body went into action. Jumping back his foot nicked her head just enough to send it spinning. Backing away slightly she shook her head. This was the first fight she was going to be in here and she wasn’t sure if she was going to be able to get away without serious injury. ”Oh well, you go down you go down fighting!” Alex thought before taking a step back towards the vampire, her teeth bore in a menacing growl. He was about to be amazed with just how sharp canine teeth could be.

Taking a few stalking steps around him she got into the position she wanted to be in and after quickly thinking about her attack she put it into action. Lunging forward she put all of her weight into the attack. She had aimed for his ankle and before she could make sure she had gotten hold of it she clamped her teeth down as hard as she could and shook her head viscously just hoping that she had gotten a hold of some part of his body. If she was going to die she wasn’t going to without giving him something to remember her by. And she was about to teach everyone that her bite was just as mean as her bark. Still now letting go of whatever she had hold of Alex stopped shaking her head and started grinding and crushing her upper and lower jaw together not daring to let go or let her hold loosen.

"It's not going to be that easy!" She wished she could tell him that, but it wasn't going to happen so she stuck with thinking it and hopping that it was true.

The mutt stepped towards him and as she bore her teeth Luke extended his fangs. The shifter walked around him, almost as though she was stalking her prey, and Luke kept his eyes on her. Even whilst doing that he didn't catch her lunging at him in time to stop nything happening. She grabbed his ankle, digging her teeth into is flesh, before shaking her head like some savage animal. He growled lightly and tried dragging his leg out of her mouth but it was no use. "Stupid mutt!" A snarl escaped his mouth and he aimed another kick for her head before breaking free from her grip and jumping onto the roof of one of the pier's shops, "poor little girl. You have no idea how much pain I am going to put you through."

Luke jumped down from the roof and circled the dog whilst in a position ready to attack, there was no way this was ending easily, he was going to tear this bitch apart. "We could have been friends, you and I. It didn't have to be this way." A smile crossed his face before he leapt at her and tried tackling the female to the ground, he was hoping he'd make contact and get her to the ground so he couldn punch the bitch into a coma. Dog form or not, she wasn't getting away with this. Ever. His fist clenched and he tried to punch the female's face. "You get one last chance!"

Alex felt a rush of satisfaction as she realized that her teeth had indeed made contact with his leg. A small growl of triumph escaped from her throat. If she could have laughed then she would have when he called her a ‘stupid mutt’. But her glory was short lived as she felt his foot make contact with her skull. Grunting she let go for his leg and stumbled back a bit, she could feel herself slowly losing control of her animal form. Swearing to herself, Alex watched as he jumped up onto one of the shacks roofs, almost hoping that he was going to leave but sadly knowing it wasn’t true. Listening to his threat she almost smirked, she really didn’t care how much pain he put her through, she still wasn’t going to give in, not until she was dead or he left. Knowing that it was probably the latter that would happen Alex had already worked on coming to term with her life ending, and she found that she didn’t really care.

A slow low growl left her jaws as she watched him leaping from the roof. Watching him circle her she tried to figure out what he was going to do but her head was still pounding and clouded from the kick she had sustained. Shaking slightly she tried to clear it, but in those few moments was when he jumped. Taking by surprise Alex found herself being flung to the ground and felt her head take a nice whack. That was all it took, she felt herself shifting, turning back into her human form. When she landed on top of her Alex bared her teeth. ”Like I would want to be your friend.” She spat at him, bracing herself to take whatever he was going to throw at her.

”I don’t want one last chance.” She growled locking her sharp green gaze on his. ”Just finish the job will you? You’re starting to bore me.” Alex replied sharply. She was truly just wishing he would do whatever he was going to and get it over with. Her head was still swimming and buzzing with pain from the trauma it had taken but she felt herself slowly healing little by little, but knew it wouldn't be in time to do anything to stop him. Not taking her eyes off of his she kept them collected; the only emotion that showed in them was hate, raw hate. Karma was a bitch, and it would get him eventually.

His fist had apparently connected with her and as he took a look at her Luke saw the female shift back into her human form. She told him she wouldn't be his friend before she rudely spat at him, that for Luke was the very last straw. A growl escaped his lips as he stared into her eyes, her words not even sinking in properl as anger started to take control and as they stared into each other's eyes he punched her stomach a few times, not wanting to let go of this anger he felt. It wasn't her fault, not really, the only person that he could blame was Maggie... and himself. His life had been pretty much one epic fail and now his creation had left. It angered him and he was going to punish those that came near to him for it.

His fist raised again as his eyes connected with hers once more, but then he dropped it to the side and suddenly his face showed sadness and sympathy. This poor girl was getting attacked for no real reason and it was his fault. "I'm sorry..." The words escaped his lips before he took a real look at her, she was beautiful and innocent for the most part, she didn't deserve this. His lips suddenly found themselves being pressed against hers as his hands placed themselves on her waist and held her close to him. He couldn't help it, he suddenly had an attraction to this shifter.

When his fist connected with her stomach all Alex wanted to do was curl up in a ball and hide. Soon she found herself tilting her head to the side and coughing. She wasn`t sure how much more her body could take and by the cracking sound that barley reached her ears she knew a couple of her ribs were broken. Cursing inwardly Alex tried not to throw up from the pain she had gotten herself into this and she was going to get through it. Fighting not to close her eyes she made them glare into his, there was no way she was going to show her fear or pain. But she knew all too well that his vampire senses would at least pick up the pain part of it.

Watching as he raised his fist again Alex braced herself for more punches but they never came. Looking back up at him she saw his eyes fill with sadness and sympathy and she found her own filling with a questioning look. She had no idea what had made him stop or why he seemed to be sorry for beating on her but she found herself relived. Whatever had made it stop had her gratitude. ”You’re sorry?” Alex almost laughed. ”Yeah, and I’m the queen of Eng-“ She never got to finish the sentence before she felt his mouth cover hers.

Taken by surprised Alex wrapped her arms around his neck as he places his on her hips. Here they were her bleeding in multiple places from him and now they were sharing a kiss. Alex had no idea what was going on and she found herself being lost in a land of pleasure. So it was true, vampires would kiss well. A small hum of satisfaction escaped her throat before she could stop it and her eyes slid close. Alex felt him pressing her closer to him and she move a little under him to get closer. She honestly didn’t know what was going on, it was almost like her body was being controlled by someone else.

Luke felt the shifter wrap her arms around his neck as they kissed, his tongue parting her lips slightly and exploring her mouth. He couldn't help it. Luke wanted a little bit of passion right now and he wanted this shifter as well. He heard a small hum escape her throat and couldn't help but smile a little as they continued to kiss passionately, the shifter moved a little under him, getting closer against his body. Right now he couldn't deny the fact that he was excited, the bulge in his pants confirmed that and as he pressed against her some more he let his hands touch her belly.

Pulling away slightly Luke stared into her eyes, a smile on his face, "if the rest is as good as the way you kiss then i'll be one lucky guy." One of his hands stroked her cheek as his eyes stayed fixed on hers, only showing sympathy and love at this very moment. A small chuckle escaped his mouth before he pressed against her again and gently kissed down her neck where the bite marks from the other vampire were. As his lips pressed against her skin he could feel her blood pumping around her and could smell it as clear as though it was right in front of him in the open air. His eyes closed as he controlled his instincts and moved back a little to stare into her eyes again. "sorry about before."

Feeling his tongue move to her lips Alex opened them to let it in, fighting the urge to rub her body off of his. This had to be the weirdest change of events that she had ever seen, a few seconds ago it seemed like he was going to kill her and now all the sudden they were sharing an amazing rather passionate kiss on the pier. Though she was going to complain, her stomach felt like it was doing slow rolls and she had to admit it was the first time in a long time that it had happened. Most of the time when she kissed a guy it was just for fun and for her to get whatever out of her system.

When he touched her belly she almost flinched away, it still hurt like hell but she forced herself to calm down and let her hands move through his hair. When she felt him move closer to her and felt him pulsing against her she couldn’t help but smile into the kiss, at least she wasn’t the only one enjoying this part of the situation. When she felt him pull away Alex pushed away the slight feeling of disappointment and looked into his eyes, her heated with passion now instead of hatred. When he spoke she couldn’t help but half. ”Who said you were getting any more?” She replied slyly, though she knew she was kidding no one if she said she didn’t want anything more so she didn’t and instead stared into his eyes.

Letting him touch her cheek a smile crossed her lips one of her hands still playing with his hair. Her body arched towards his a bit when his pressed towards hers again and he started trailing kisses down her neck. She almost totally forgot about what he was until his lips stopped over the two bit marks of the other vampire and she tried to pull her neck away from him, unsure if he was going to try anything, even if he did she wasn’t exactly in a position to be able to stop him. She couldn’t help but let out a small sigh of relief as he moved back up to her face. ”I believe you’ve made up for it.” She said in reply smiling as she trailed her fingers down his back.
