[atrb=style,background-color: transparent,bTable] hey guys. my name is guinevere olivia hathaway, but you can call me gwen. everyone else does, so i guess you can too. i'm twenty-four years old, and if it isn't already obvious, i'm a girl. it should be. what isn't so obvious is the fact that i'm a human, but you can keep that a secret for now. |
personality
gwen hathaway is very much a people person. she grew up with a big family and so being around people is pretty much second nature to her. living in a small town for most of her life, she really cant imagine living anywhere else. she knows it has it's ups, like pretty much being able to put a name to everyone's face, and downs, such as everyone knowing what you're up to and like when you get a new boyfriend, everyone turns into your parents and wants to know all about him, sometimes she thinks it's a little overbearing, but she couldn't think of anywhere else she'd want to be.with that being said, she does like to travel. she's been down to florida, which were a pretty good four years for her. before that, gwen had been on holidays with her family, mostly in america, but she's been to australia too. she liked it there, but she wouldn't want to move there. she really wants to go to europe, but not for the history aspect of it. to be honest, she's had enough of history. her parents are both history buffs and so she's grown up knowing random facts about different periods in time. she's called quinevere for crying out loud, that should have given you some hint as to what her parents were in to.
she's loyal. it's probably one of the reasons that she came back to jamerson falls. she'll stand up for someone or something that she cares about, and she is also quite protective. in her eyes that's a good thing, but her brother and sister can find it quite annoying at times... not that it stops her. she's hard working, conscientious, determined and a bit of a geek.
as much as gwen likes her job, she doesn't want to stay a reporter forever. nope, she has bigger dreams than that. she wants to be an editor one day, and not just for a local newspaper... something bigger, like a popular magazine or something.
gwen's always been pretty open minded, and so when the vampires came out of the coffin, she didn't judge. actually no, that's a lie, it took her a while to come around to the idea, but she figured that they hadn't actually done anything to harm her or those that she cared about, so she really had nothing to hold against them. in gwen's mind, they're just people... who sleep all day and come out at night and drink blood.
history
guinevere olivia hathaway's parents met in england. olivia sparrow and ethan hathaway attended the same university for their year, when ethan was studying to become a vet, and olivia was on her way to getting a degree in economics. they pretty much hit it off right away and started dating pretty early on in that school year. when the two of them graduated, they moved to jamerson falls and gwen was born around two years later, on the seventh of september, nineteen-eighty-six. when gwen was two, three became four when gwen's younger brother was born and then number five came along when gwen was six, with the baby of the family, her little sister.gwen spent the first eighteen years of her life happily living in jamerson falls with the rest of her family, however she decided to attend the university of north florida studying english. it was in her senior year in college when the whole world changed for everyone and vampires declared their existence. that was pretty much a night that no one will ever forget. she was sitting in the common room for her dorms with a tub of ben and jerries ice cream and two friends when the broadcast was on television. she had grey sweats on. it's a flashbulb memory for her.
anyway, gwen graduated college and didn't think twice about moving back to jamerson falls after graduating. she moved into her own place though: an apartment above a comic book store that wasn't too far away from her parents... or the beach. she also got a job working for the local newspaper as a reporter, putting her english degree to good use. However now really wasn't the time to be thinking about her sister. Sure, hanging out with Nicholas again was bound to cause her to reminisce... But now... Really? And about her sister? She was pretty sure that when someone kissed you, your mind was not supposed to go off on a tangent and remember your family. After she'd attempted - and made a complete pig's ear of - saying something after the first kiss she'd had with him in six years, she'd decided that she'd leave the speaking from now on to him, since it was more his forte... Not hers. She felt like laughing at herself tripping over her own words so much. Apparently Nicholas still had that effect on her, although she doubted that it would ever go. She didn't want it to, that was for sure. If anyone had to have the ability to turn Jennifer De Silvers into a babbling baboon... Then she was glad that it was him. People said that absence made the heart grow fonder, and Jenn hadn't really put much thought into the saying until now. Back in college she would do anything not to think about him, but now it was all different. She wouldn't have to leave again, or so she hoped. It was all down to Paisley really, considering she was as good as Jennifer's boss right now. If Paisley needed her somewhere, then that's where Jenn would go. The two of them had pretty much become surrogate sisters for each other, and Jenn wanted to make sure that Paisley succeeded in whatever she did.
But right now, Paisley wasn't there. It was just her and Nicholas... And everyone else in the park, but right now they were all pretty insignificant. She was expecting Nick this time... Well, not so much as expecting as it was wanting. She knew that if he hadn't kissed her again, then she would have been the one to close the distance. She'd meant what she'd said earlier, when she'd finally managed to say it. Remembering what it felt like to kiss Nicholas and what it actually felt like to kiss Nicholas seemed to be two very different things, the second option being ten times better, easily. This time Jennifer didn't waste any time in being surprised at his actions. She didn't hesitate as one of her hands took on a mind of it's own, finding it's way to his blonde hair, which also helped in pulling him closer. She'd been a fool for leaving back then. She wasn't going to make the same mistake twice.[/div]
