[atrb=style,background-color: transparent,bTable] hey guys. my name is Erastus Valerius Calidus, but you can call me Valerius. everyone else does, so i guess you can too. i'm two thousand and five hundred and twenty-one years young, and if it isn't already obvious, i'm a male. it should be. what isn't so obvious is the fact that i'm a vampire, but you can keep that a secret for now. |
personality
So an interview is what you desire. Very well child, we have a few moments, please proceed with your questions. How would I define my personality? First off I would start by saying I am a very thorough investigator, I hold off any judgments I have of others until I am satisfied that I have the necessary facts to render a proper judgment.I guess you could say it is a force of habit, you see I have served as a magister for the monarchy for nearly two thousand years. Judging other vampires is what I do. I believe I am a fair judge if perhaps a strict one. If you must know I rather enjoy my chosen profession.Next I would say I am a very noble creature. It is this nobility that drives me to be fair and honest in my judgments of others. Where does my nobility stem from? That is an easy question for me to answer. It stems from my noble birth into one of the oldest patrician families of Rome, the gens Valeria. You see gens Valeria or how you would say family Valerius in English, my family played a crucial role in expelling the Roman monarchy and reforming it into a Republic. In fact one of my father served as the first consul of the Roman Republic. I like to think I carry on the nobility of gens Valeria well into these modern nights. You will also find that I respect nobility in others as well. I learned many a years ago that nobility can be found in even the lowest born human, and if any can rise above their station and display a sense of nobility then they shall earn much respect in my eyes. So yes in summary I greatly respect the nobility that others show.
Again I would also like to reiterate the fact that while I sit in judgment of others of my kind, I do so fairly. My critical sense of nobility would demand no less. Fairness in my judgments is what makes me such a sought after magister after all. It also prevents me from being bribed, a trait many of my kind wished I didn't possess. But I tell those who would try, that my nobility is not for sale, so don't bother. In the end you would only be damaging the case against you. And I should also inform you that I have sentenced other magisters to the truth death, on behalf of the monarchies that I serve, for excepting bribes.
Thoroughness, nobility, fairness. I believe these are all traits that describe me well. I believe these are also the traits that should describe a great magister, and yes I do count myself as one of the greats. Hubris perhaps, but I prefer to think of it as professional confidence. Now child is that all you wish to know?
history
No? Now you wish to know of my history. Very well I see no farm in further indulging you for now. After all we still have time. As I have previously mentioned I was born in Rome, in the year 510 b.c. during the early years of the Roman Republic. My formal birth name was Erastus of the Valerii. The gens Valeria at this time was a patrician or noble house if you will. I was my mother and father's third son, and as such inheriting anything but the family name was pretty much beyond me. I grew up in a life of luxury but when I became a man I was expected to find my own way in life. Which either meant the priesthood to one of the gods, or military service. I chose the latter, and served as an officer in the armies of Rome. Due to my patrician birth I was guaranteed a role as an officer, although I did succeed at the position due to my own merits. By the age of thirty, which back then was pretty old for a man in the military, I had achieved the rank of General and lead my own legions. It was during the end of my military career and my life even that I gained the attention of my maker Titus Flavius Severus. My maker had respected the way I disciplined my legions, for both my fairness and my appropriate sentences. My maker served the vampire monarchs of the times as magister as well an saw in me the chance to groom a successor. My maker offered me the chance to become like him, to become vampire. Since we are speaking now, I believe my choice was obvious.
I trained at Titus' side for five hundred years, by that time the Rome I had known was gone. Gaius of the Julii or more commonly known as Julius Caesar began the steps to turning the Roman Republic in to a Roman Empire lead by a dictator. Needless to say I was not happy about those turn of events, as it was my family that had played a crucial role in overthrowing the Roman monarchy. However my maker instructed me to disregard those petty mortal affairs and concentrate on becoming a judge of vampire kind. So that is what I did.
When I ignored human affairs on concentrated solely on the affairs of my fellow vampires and the dictates of the monarchies whom I served, time flew. I must admit that while aware of human event, the inquisition, the great wars, I didn't really participate in them. Assisting in the punishment of our kinds most dire criminals was my life. It was also my passion, Justice after all is important to me. In my many years serving in the role of magister, I have stood in judgment of thousands of our kind. Only a few hundred of those have deserved the true death as punishment. Contrary to popular belief, true death is not the only sentence we hand down. There are many types of punishments, and I prefer that they fit the crime, or follow vampire law. Our laws of course come first, if a law dictates a certain punishment, then that is what the sentence will be.
I will shortly be making my way to the new world, sorry I believe it is now known as the United States of America. I have been elected the new magister of North America to deal with one of the eldest kings in the region. Apparently his chosen queen is accused of not being fit to rule alongside her fellow monarchs. So in this capacity I am heading to a region known as Jamerson Falls, New Jersey. Are you familiar with it child? No neither am I, but I shall soon be.
Anyways my child, do you know enough about me now? Does it comfort you to know more about the one who stands in judgment over you? I should tell you, that you now know more about me than any other creature in this world in which we share. But you should know I have reached my decision, are you prepared to hear it? My decision is as follows, on the charge of murdering a fellow vampire, I find you guilty. On the charge of murdering the vampire sheriff sent to stop your illicit activities, I find you guilty. On the charge of distributing your blood to mortals for profit, I find you guilty. Do you now wish to hear the sentence? Very well, for the crimes I have convicted you of, I sentence you to the true death. Please know child this brings me no pleasure, I wish you would have thought out your actions before you partook in them. Now I am afraid it is too late, I will inform others of your repentance of your ill deeds. But as I have little time left before my journey to America, I will now carry out your sentence...

Brent decided he was going to need to explain things to Vis, and so decided to shift again. Brent watch Emile and Arrow go before he began the slow and painful process. Brent was going to be really exhausted after this. At least he got a small nap in he thought. Although Brent was no stranger to shifting a lot in a short amount of time. Just after his first change, that came a little later for Brent than most, his father used to make him change until complete exhaustion. Brent's father was also his Alpha and was raising Brent to be the perfect Alpha, the perfect werewolf. Brent used to hate his father, maybe he still does, but he can't deny his father made him strong.
Concentrating on his father had helped Brent focus through the transformation. Although Brent had completely lost track of time, was that another shout from Vis? Brent couldn't tell, his ears were ringing, very loudly. Brent was also covered in sweat, and his were sore. Brent with great effort managed to stagger to his feet. As he stood large, red dots swam across his vision. He also felt a little queasy. Brent remembered his father's harsh lessons on weakness, and managed to stumble to the door as steadily as he could. A little physical exhaustion was not going to prevent Brent from walking outside.
As Brent neared the door, he wiped as much sweat from his brow as possible. He noticed his hands were a little pale, and were shaking slightly. Brent balled his hands into fists. If my hands are this pale, I probably don't want to see myself in the mirror. Brent pinched and slap his cheeks a little, hopefully restoring a little color to them. Brent felt cold but knew he was still sweating. I hate cold sweats Brent thought. Mustering up all that was left of his strength Brent finally walked through the door, but even he noticed the odd gait to his steps. Brent stopped and stiffened his legs a little more before continuing.
Brent approached his three fellow werewolves saying with a smirk, "Sorry for the wait Vis, had to get changed." Brent was proud at the fact that he managed to keep the exhaustion out of his voice, and to keep it even. "Plus it will be far easier to communicate with you and tell you all that has transpired." Brent decided he needed to teach the pack the paw tapping language his family used, it was a bit complex and not always precise, but it could convey complex messages. Brent usually equated it to Morse code, except a lot more elaborate.[/div]
