Arrow followed closely behind Vision, loving being able to run and the smooth feeling of her muscles bunching as she did. She lifted her nose into the air slightly and scented Deer. Running in wolf form always made it harder for Arrow to control her wolf, and tonight was no different. Arrow's wolf was control now, and for the first time since she had been changed, Arrow was okay with that. She didn't have to be afraid of attacking or hurting someone.
The sleek silver wolf stopped behind Vis, again she scented the air. she could smell them, just up ahead and to the right. She tilted her head to the side a bit in question, wondering why the Alpha had stopped. She wanted to hunt with her pack, she wanted to taste the warm blood of a fresh kill. The wolf took a few steps to the right, only then realizing that Vision was testing them, seeing if they could be able to smell the Deer. She snorted and swung her head in the direction of the herd of deer and licked her chops.

Levi bounded after Visceral and the woman, leaping over logs and dodging through trees. He was the last member of the formation, and his wolf didn't like that at all, but he had convinced it to fall behind and, as he had thought, it had enabled him to work something out. He watched as the two wolves in front of him moved through the forest, and soon came to the realisation that they were more manoeuvrable than he was. He might have been able to keep up with them, or even outpace them if he'd wanted to, but his bulk made it difficult to get through some areas or go around others. He had to work harder to keep up because, every once in a while, he'd come to some obstacle or another and have to go around it, rather than through it, like the others. Anything else that might have been relevant, though, was lost to the wolf's instincts and glee at being free and in a pack.
Visceral came to a halt, and Levi and the woman did likewise. For a second, Levi was puzzle, but then he picked up a faint scent. He leaned forward, sniffing the ear and listening. He could make a three, maybe four distinct deer, one buck and two or three does. His wolf was torn between leaping forward and going for the kill and waiting for Visceral - or was it Vision, now that he was a wolf? - to give the go ahead. Levi's wolf took a step forward, and then he brought it to a halt. This was obviously a test, probably to see if they could sense the deer, even with the wind against them, so why not take it to another level and put those fourteen and a half years with the SAS into practice.
Glancing at Vision, Levi pawed a diagram in the leaf litter, thinking it the best way to communicate his plan. Looking at Vision, although not looking directly into his eyes, Levi drew a line angled from the left in towards his body. He repeated the process, looking Arrow directly in the eye, and drew a similar line from the right side. Then, breaking the stare by keeping his eyes level and turning his body away from Arrow, a deliberate insult on the part of his wolf, Levi drew a pawed a straight line in between the other two and brought his leg up into his chest a couple of times to indicated that he would take that path. His wolf, knowing that Levi was done, looked over at Visceral for approval, keeping his eyes low. Hopefully the plan, which made use of the other two wolves' manoeuvrability and his massive bulk, would gain the approval of his new Alpha.

Vision snuffled the ground and then cocked his head to the side while Levi was doing a thing so unlike a wolf that it had confused him for a moment. He could not see what had Levi had done but smelling the newly turned earth and the subtle shifting of leaves that he could tell that Levi had made a Diagram. His mind was not quite grasping the diagram that Levi was scratching on the earth though, so he reached down deep within himself tugging the intent from Levi's emotions. It fit the general aspect of what their instincts would have them do.
He only had one problem. Instead of him rustling them from the field that was up ahead, he would rather have the two of them do it, as most bucks of that age would try to protect their harem against a single wolf, even one of Levi's size, but two would be too much for any buck as they could circle and harry it until it died. That would make the deer flee where they were herded, straight toward where Levi could set up an ambush for the Buck.
Shaking his head he mimicked Levi and rearranged his plan to his liking then rubbed his flank across Arrow's in the direction she had indicated. He had slowed considerably so that it would give time for Levi could set up his position for ambush. The deer were nearly a quarter klick away still though, grazing in a meadow. When he was literally creeping on his belly by the time they were a hundred feet from the clearing. He glanced around for arrow and hoped she understood the meaning of the diagram or at least grasped the intent from the pack bonds.

The gray wolf tilted her head to the side, wondering why the larger wolf was drawing in the sand in stead of getting ready to attack. Her tail swayed back and forth in anticipation, but froze when Levi looked her wolf in the eye. She bared her teeth in a silent growl and lowered herself like she was going to attack and go for his throat. She wouldn't though, she didn't want to risk scaring off the deer with their fight. Why did they keep clashing! Arrows wolf knew the importance of what they were about to do and lifted herself up from the crouch, flicking her ears and looking away from Levi in a dismissive gesture.
She couldn't have understood the diagram with out the pack bond in place to help her out. She glanced at Vis when he nudged her in the direction she had indicated and crouched low, her soft dove gray underbelly only just skimming the ground as she crept towards the deer. She was smaller, and there for less noticeable than the other two. Her blackened muzzle twitched, scenting the air as her startling blue eyes scanned for Vis, and when they found him she stopped, deeming the position suitable for waiting until he gave the signal for her to show herself and herd the deer into Levi. It seemed to take Vision a little while to get Levi's plan, but then he seemed to get it, possibly through the pack bonds, although that weird feeling might just have been Levi's imagination. When he did get it, though, Vision amended the plan, stationing Levi behind the deer and having himself and the woman chase the deer towards Levi. Levi didn't like the plan, and he figured that he would be better at flushing the deer out, but Vision seemed to think that his plan was the end of it and began to move out. So, like a good soldier, Levi complied and did as he was told.
Letting the wolf take more control, Levi set off in a giant semi-circle that would bring him around behind the deer. He moved relatively quickly, although not as fast as he might have if he wasn't worried about noise discipline. If the deer had been humans he would have risked a little more speed, but deer were very sharp eared compared to humans. They'd hear him if moved much faster, and then they'd scatter. For someone who generally wasn't worried about what others thought of him, Levi sure didn't want to screw this up. Maybe the need to belong had affected him more than he had first thought?
There was no time for any more introspection, though, because Levi realised that he was in an ideal position for the ambush. He could smell the deer and his two fellow wolves as they approached the deer, and his wolf crouched low to the ground as it eagerly anticipated the hunt. Levi was starting to get the impression that the wolf had a distinct personality, one that wasn't purely hunger and the desire to hunt anything that moved, but he wasn't just sure what it was yet. One thing was sure, though, it felt happier than it had in years.

Bounding to his feet at the feel of readiness that levi was emitting from the tenuous bonds, he brushed by Arrow, loping into the clearing. A few bounds to the east put the deer directly between levi an himself. When he was in the optimum position, a low rumbling started to resonate from his chest and past his lips. The snarl that flew from his at the speed of sound was impressive to say the least. It seemed as if it should come from a wolf of Levi's size instead of his own slightly smaller frame.
A wave of alertness and then fear washed over his senses, forcing another snarl from his lips as he moved in at top speed toward the deer that were just starting to flee. Being closer to the deer than Levi was he was gaining on the flock of deer quickly. It only took him moments to pick out the first of his prey, the one that was flagging in the back.Once he caught up to the slowest of the group, a slight fawn of less than a year, his head struck as quick as a snake, teeth flashing.
He had gone for a debilitating blow, but one that would not kill outright for a while. Fangs met the upper thigh of the fawn and parted hide, muscle, tendons, and bone alike under it's crushing grip. Vision bounded on, the white hairs on Vis's muzzle now stained a deep crimson, without even pausing as the fawn fell, bleating to the forest floor. Spitting out the piece of leg bone and meat that was in between his teeth, he searched out bigger prey. He noticed that he would not be able to reach any in time though, as the leading buck was just about to reach Levi's position.

Arrow was itching to chase after the deer but knew to wait for the alpha. Once Vis brushed by her and leapt out into the open she did the same, bolting out of the brush and running after Vis. He mouth watered when he drew first blood and she longed for the feeling of that first bite and the warm blood filling her mouth. She could have easily brought down one of the does but she knew they wanted the buck. She sprinted ahead of Vis, snapping at the heels of any deer that tried to stray.
Her claws dug into the ground with every step as she raced after them, she'd never felt this free in her wolf form. for her it always meant pain, blood shed and murder. now she was seeing her wolf in a different light. She felt the presence of her pack as they hunted with her and knew this had been the right decision.

The pack started to chase the deer towards him, and Levi crouched patiently in the undergrowth, shifting his position as silently and as quickly as he could in order to keep in line with the buck, who he assumed was leading the charge. His wolf, strangely enough, agreed with the tactic. He could feel its desire to hunt, but the wolf was keeping itself calm, disciplined. It quite honestly surprised Levi, and he found himself re-evaluating his wolf. Yes, it loved to kill and it frightened him when that desire spilled over into his own personality, but the wolf wasn't quite the unthinking monster Levi had long thought it to be. It had intelligence, patience, discipline, however limited, and he wasn't sure if that made things better or worse. Was it good that the wolf could control itself, or was it bad that it was just as intelligent and manipulative as he was?
There was no more time for thinking, because the buck was almost on him, and Levi told the wolf to get moving at the same instant it sprang fully upright and sprinted out to meet the buck. It heard Levi coming and tried to get away, but Levi's wolf had judged its moment well. The panicked buck came into view not ten metres from where Levi had been crouching, his mottled, dark grey fur helping hide him. His wolf sprang up and sprinted faster than Levi had ever seen it move, and crossed the distance in less than half a second, its body slamming against the buck and sending it crashing to the ground, missing the woman, who had been chasing the buck, by inches. Before the buck could do anything more than blink, the wolf had clamped down on its neck and completely crushed its spine. The wolf pulled at the neck, its teeth severing the arteries in the buck's neck, and blood sprayed over its muzzle. The wolf smiled and enjoyed the taste of the blood as it licked it off its muzzle.
Had the wolf been on its own it might have eaten the corpse and then tracked down the rest of the herd, but he wasn't alone, and there were other wolves, one of whom he was still unhappy with. So, to show his dominance, the wolf sprang up from the kill and immediately chased after a doe that had caught his attention. As he'd moved down wind his wolf had recognised that there were five does in addition to the buck, more than he had originally thought, which meant that he could still get in more kills than anyone if he tried. The doe, as fast as she was, was no match for the giant werewolf who ripped her leg out from under her, tore out her throat and then bounded off looking for more prey to kill.

Vis panted slightly as he smelled the first death of the hunt. It was good, the buck had died first as he had planned. There were the two that were wounded, the fawn, mortally so, and Arrow's doe. The fawn would bleed out since it's femoral artery had been severed by his teeth. The actual death though was from Levi as he thought it should be. Vision knew he felt that he had to prove himself dominant through superior hunting skills, so he would let Arrow and Levi make that their contest instead of direct and possibly mortal combat.
Instead of choosing and taking out another of the now leaderless and scattering does he made his way to the corpse of the buck and stood over it. He threw his head back and issued a ear and nearly earth shattering howl. As his howl washed over the clearing and the does, it caused greathearted confusion in the prey. Two of the four stumbled, and one actually froze up in mid leap to tumble to the ground. The rest just seemed dazed and lost the direction of their flight.
When his fifteen second long howl finally ceased, he watched the progress of his two newest pack members, already proud for them, knowing they had been a great choice to enfold into the pack, and help it distinguish it's self from all the others, even from the rest of the Napaski Wolves.

Arrow's large fangs clamped down on the Doe's Middle then quickly let go, knowing she had punctured more then a few vital organs in the process, it would take the doe a bit to die though. She glanced up as the animal let out a cry and fell to the ground. Eyes wide with panic. She watched as Levi killed the Buck, her eyes flashing with challenge when she realized what he was about to do. Five other does were left, her doe was slowly dying, and Levi was just now on the second doe. That left three more. The buck didn't count towards their challenge because they had worked as a pack to take it down. but these last three were up for grabs. They both had one kill. She'd have to be fast.
Her ears perked when Vis howled and confused the deer, she longed to howl with him but knew she had to be quick about Levi's challenge. Her wolf longed for the buck they had taken down as a pack, but the need to show her dominance was stronger.
Arrow darted towards the Doe who had fallen and clamped down on her throat and kept running, yanking her head to the side and taring her throat out in one smooth move. Hot blood dripped down her muzzle and a pink tongue licked around her mouth as she ran. The taste of the doe spurring her on. She just had to get one more doe and she'd win, her claws dug into the earth as she ran, fast as she could carry herself. She didn't know where Levi was, she was too focused on the doe she was fast approaching, her feet were almost a blur she was moving so fast. Arrow launched herself at the doe, fangs out and at the ready, aiming for another bite to the neck. A growl rumbling in her throat.

Vision's howl stunned Levi for a second or two, but his wolf seemed to know what it was about and kept running after the deer, aiming for the deer who had been stunned while leaping in mid air. It landed awkwardly and tumbled two or three times before Levi's wolf pounced on it and tore its throat out. The deer spasmed for a few moments before it went into shock and bled out, but the wolf was already gone, racing after a second doe. It needed to kill at least three of the four remaining does to have an advantage over Arrow, quite a tall order.
The second deer was still under Vision's spell, or so it looked to Levi, and the wolf thundered towards it, not quite at top speed but still fast enough that Vision hadn't quite finished his howl by the time the wolf had ripped out its throat. Levi got the distinct impression that, if it weren't for the need to kill a third deer, the wolf would have decapitated the deer and, possibly, torn off a hind leg for good measure. Strangely, that didn't seem to bother him as much. It wasn't that he was squicked out by a little bit of blood or a severed head, he had, after all, grown up on a cattle station, but it was the violence and wantonness of destruction that got to him. He still didn't approve of those feelings but...they didn't bother him as much.
Breaking into a sprint, the wolf let Levi think while it went after the final deer. It was somewhere between him and Arrow, although Arrow was closer, and was maybe a hundred metres in front of them. With a low, rumbling growl, the wolf doubled its efforts and tried to get to the deer before Arrow. It was focused on beating her and, if it had to, the wolf would trample Arrow or knock her into a tree.

OOC: Omg! I'm sorry guys >.< I don't know why I've taken so long! I'm so sorry! <3
Arrow's darkened muzzle closed around the Deer's throat. If she was human she would have grinned and whooped in victory! She'd gotten the Deer first! As her Jaw started closing down, her deadly teeth sinking in, Levi Body slammed the two of them and she lost her hold on the deer. Arrow yelped as she was sent flying through the air. She hit the ground rolling, her whole left side throbbing from the massive wolf's impact with her slim body. 'NO!' she thought, jumping to her feet quickly, but it was too late. Levi's tackle had broken the Deers neck, she slowly padded over to the deer and huffed when it was confirmed that the Impact, not her bite, had killed the Deer. Arrow's wolf knew it had lost, no matter how close she had came she hadn't killed the last deer. She turned towards Levi, Her head lowered and her ears turned down, and slowly approached him. She lifted her muzzle and gave his chin a short lick. She then straightened and cocked her head at Levi, giving him a Wolfy grin and bolting off towards Vis and the Buck they had taken down.

Levi wolf closed the distance between himself and the deer very quickly, but Arrow still reached the deer first. Well, Levi's wolf was having none of that and, in a last ditch effort, it slammed Levi's body into Arrow. Arrow flew off to the side, her mouth torn from around the deer's throat, and the deer tumbled awkwardly underneath Levi's massive body. At some point, whether from the force of the impact or from something that had happened during the tumble, the doe's neck had snapped. Hearing the noise, Levi stood over the body and grinned at Arrow, nudging the now flexible neck into a completely unnatural position and pawing at the shallow lacerations around the deer's neck. There was some bleeding, but it was obvious that there was no arterial flow. Levi had killed the doe.
Slowly, submissively, Arrow approached Levi and he stood still, his tail and ears raised. He accepted Arrow's short lick and, satisfied that his dominance had been asserted, grinned back at Arrow when she pulled away. It contemplated trying to outrun her and continue to show off its dominance, but decided in the end that it probably wouldn't be worth it. Arrow had acknowledged his dominance and hadn't seemed to resent him, so there wouldn't any harm in trotting along behind her, a smug smile on his face. He could always put her in her place if she got uppity.
Tearing the deer's throat out for good measure, Levi set off after Arrow, trotting quite contentedly. His tail was wagging, and his tongue lolled out of his mouth. Both he and his wolf were happy to be part of a pack and to have hunted with others, even if there had been some rivalry. And so he arrived at the buck, looking happy as Larry, but still not forgetting that it was a bad idea to look an Alpha in the eyes.
