Christine had just walked into her room. It was after 9:00PM. She turned the light on, and somebody had grabbed her from behide. "GET OFF OF ME!" She screamed, scared for her life. The person had their arms wrapped around hers. She struggled and finally elbowed the person in the stomach and ran towards her door, opening it and slamming it behide her. She ran down the hall, into the lobby and out the door. It was hard to run in her black skirt and high heels. She was wearing her white dress shirt, and her hair was laying on her shoulders. Once out the door, she ran towards the park. She heard a car door slam and stepped on the gas, heading straight towards her. She looked over her shoulder to see the car, and tripped over herself and fell onto the ground.
She starting shaking, scared for her life. The man got out of the car, this time with a knife in his hand. She pushed herself back, slowly, trying very hard not to step on her skirt that went down to her knees and trying to keep a chance of a hole getting on her skirt. She continued to move back, watching the guy walk right up to her. "Help!!!!!!" She screamed again, before a hand went onto her mouth. The guy was on top of her, with the knife up to her throat. She tried to scream again, hoping that somebody would recurse her.

Luke sat on the roof of a building, watching the streets below as he tried to find a drunken idiot to feed on. Anyone would do right now. He just wanted to taste the blood of a human rather than the fake stuff that they had in the shops. His eyes closed and he sniffed the air a little, trying to catch the scent of someone he could claim as his victim. Things hadn't been going well with the whole blood thing since humans had discovered vampires weren't just something from the movies, in fact it was very rare that a human was unprotected and he could drink their blood. He frowned slightly as he thought about the bloodlust.
A sound came from the distance, the voice of a female shouting for help. Luke stood up almost instantly and looked in the direction the sound had come from. Sure enough, at the end of the street, there was a woman being attacked. Luke let a small growl escape his lips as he jumped down from the roof and extended his fangs, landing on his feet without a problem. His vampire speed allowed him to get over to the woman in a second and as soon as he was there Luke wrapped his arm around the man's throat and pulled him away, "it's never a good idea for a man to attack a woman, especially not with me around." Without giving much thought to the situation Luke bit into the man's neck and began to feed from him, making sure not to waste any of the blood as he did so.

Christine continued to struggle even though the knife was up against her neck. She swallowed hard, scared that nobody was going to come and save her. She started to cry, wishing in her heart that somebody would come for her, and save her from this monster, this man that was attacking her. She sniffed, a running nose from the crying that she had just started from the man being on top of her. The man wasn't on her anymore, in fact he was in some guy's hand. She watched, still laying on the ground, as the man holding the other guy's throat leaned forward and bit into the man's neck and started feeding on him. She had never seen a vampire up close before, she had heard of them, but never seen one before.
The only thing she knew or believed was they couldn't handle sunlight very well. Which is why they were only out at night, and why she was always scared at night. Plus things always happen at night more then in the day time, even when its from another human. She put her hand up to her mouth, to keep herself from screaming out loud. Yes she was scared, but that vampire had saved her, it was the least thing she could do in return. She watched till he was done feeding on the male. "Thank you..." She was having a hard time, putting a smile on her face. She was still scared. Maybe he was there to hurt her too, maybe not since he had just saved her. Sometimes you have to stay on your guard though.
She continued to sit on the ground, to scared to move. She was having a hard time seeing the point in moving right away anyway. Right now, she wasn't all that tired anymore. Just sad, and scared.

Luke kept feeding until the man was completely dry, then once he had finished he let the male's lifeless body fall to the floor, Luke's eyes now fixed on the female as he licked the remaining blood from his lips. "Thank you..." One of his eyebrows raised slightly as he continued to stare at her, wondering why she had been outside on her own and what the reason had been for the man to attack her. "Did you know him?" He nodded down at the man and kicked his body after speaking, wondering if the female had any connection to him or had seen him around before.
It wasn't often that Luke had to play the hero and save someone, with vampires out of the coffin and living amongst the humans most people chose not to take the risk of messing with the wrong person and ending up dead. Of course there were still a few idiots that had no sense and caused trouble. They got what was coming to them sooner or later though. Sighing slightly Luke held out his hand for the female to take, "I think it would be best if we go to your home so you can rest and calm down. I can stay with you for as long as you need, just so you're safe." Luke honestly didn't mind helping out people, especially those kind enough to thank him. It was just the people that didn't like his kind that he turned his back on and left them to get in trouble again. This woman seemed friendly enough though, the least he could do was look after her.

Christine's eyes followed the body till it hit the ground. Then she looked up at the male that had saved her. It was weird watching a vampire feed, and more weird to see blood still on his lips. Pinch me I think I'm dreaming. She thought to herself before moving her hand to her shoulder, pinching her sink. She felt it alright, so it meant she was awake. Her eyes went back to him, his eyebrow went up as if he was surprised by her comment. She listened to his question. No. She watched his foot kick the dead man's body, and she answered. "No, he was in my room when I walked in." She seen his hand move out towards her, and she took his hand. Vampire or not, he had saved her she believed there was enough reason to trust him.
He was right, she should go back to her room. Though it wouldn't do that much good, its not like she was going to sleep anytime soon. "The hotel I stay in, is this way." She only knew of one hotel in the area, and she had one of the best rooms in the building. The thought of him staying with her as long as she needed him to be there, made her slightly nervous but feel safe at the same time. She had only met him today after all, but this happened to also be the day that he had saved her. She was stuck in thought of how she should feel about this vampire. Normally she would be fine as long as they stayed away from her, but this time she wanted to break that rule. That rule was meant to keep them from drinking her blood. That had yet to happen.
She was pulled back out of her thoughts as they reached the doors of the hotel. She walked towards her bed room, pulling the key out to unlock the door. Lucky for her, she still had it in her pocket when she had first ran out the door. She pushed the door open and walked into the room.

Luke helped her up after she had taken hold of his hand, "the hotel I stay in, is this way." To his knowledge there was only one hotel in Jamerson Falls and it wasn't that far away from where they were now. He walked with her to the hotel and then up to her room, his eyes watching as she unlocked the door. Luke couldn't help but wonder just how much she knew about vampires and what exactly she thought about them. Was she scared of him? Did she feel safe with him? There were so many questions that needed to be answered.
He watched as she pushed open the door and walked inside, his hands on the doorframe. One thing about vampires was that they had to be invited into a place, they couldn't just enter. A frown appeared on his face as he thought about it, it was a curse to the vampires but a gift to the humans. The invitation aspect of the undead life and the fact that the sun burnt them were the only things keeping them from taking over and enslaving humanity. Lucky for the humans. Of course, Luke's beliefs were that vampires had once been humans at some point and they should be able to live alongside each other.
His hand tapped on the doorframe as his eyes fixed back on the female, "if I am allowed to enter then you will have to invite me in. It is entirely your choice of course." He looked down slightly, "it is one of the aspects of life that keep humans safe from my kind."

Christine turned around to look at the vampire. He was just standing at the door frame. She couldn't understand why, till his comment. In a way, she was disappointed that he was forced to stay outside unless invited, but at least it meant he had to play gentlemen this time by waiting. She finally put a smile on her face. "You may come in." Mistake or not, he had saved her. His comment kind of confused her, one aspects that keeps her safe from vampires. She believed that vampires at least got burned by the sun but never seen it happen. "I thought they only couldn't stand sunlight." She answered back, shows how much she knew about vampires. She had a little French accent as she spoke each and every word.
Yeah, as she thought, not so tired anymore. She made her way towards the window, shutting it then closing the curtains. She liked airing her room out, and since it was night it was time to close it. Even after being attacked the only thing that looked messed up was her hair, her makeup on her face still looked intact. Her blond hair was all over the place, only tangled but still over the place. She walked into the bathroom for a second then came back out with a brush. "Do.. vampires do anything else besides.... besides drinking blood?" She questioned, kind of interested in the subject that very moment. She was watching him, still standing near the entrance of the bathroom, with her brush in hand, stroking each strain of her hair.

"You may come in." Luke nodded slightly and walked into the room, his eyes staying fixed on the female, making sure nothing happened. Sure she was being nice but he knew what some humans were like. They played nice and then got out the stakes. That was never fun. "I thought they only couldn't stand sunlight." Again he nodded slightly but this time he looked away from her, "there are a few things we are weak against. Sunlight can be lethal to us. If we are in it for too long then we burn until we die." He frowned slightly, his eyes looking back at her as she made her way to the window and closed it.
Having the window open whilst no one was in probably wasn't the best idea but each person had their own way of living. Luke watched as she walked into the bathroom, not moving from the place where he stood, just waiting for permission to do things. After all, he didn't want to scare her. "Do.. vampires do anything else besides.... besides drinking blood?" Now that was a good question, one that no human had asked him before. "We're very good at saving people." He smiled slightly as he watched her brush her hair, fascinated by the way humans lived. "I'm Luke, by the way. Your little guardian vampire in some sense."

Christine watched him from the window, as he spoke of other things that could harm him, and could stand only so much sunlight. She didn't know of this other stuff, nor did she really care about it. She felt that she needed a reason to explain why she had the window open in the first place. "The room does need airing out, I come and go as I please. I mean who comes climbs up into an open window that is three stories high?" She didn't mean that to be a question for answering. Though now that she thought about it, that guy who had attacked her may have come in through the window. She just sighed at the thought of it, having the window open was still nice, but if closing it meant her being more safe she was going to have to start now.
Now it was time to re brush her hair. She was wondering how old this vampire might be but didn't dare to ask. She continued to brush it, always the same fifty times, sometimes even more if she felt that it was needed. Most females just brushed their hair and was done, but not her, she liked taking good care of her hair making it look good. The comment made her smile back, but then she thought of what a vampire might mean about saving. "You mean, saving humans and they stay human, or you also bite them to save them?" She was wondering if he ever changed a human before to save them, and if she might be next on that list. "Its nice to meet you Luke, I'm Christine." She stopped brushing her hair and gave out her right hand to shake his hand.
Seeing him still standing she spoke again. "You can sit down if you want Luke." She pointed to the couch, and a recliner chair in front of the TV. Then she started brushing her hair, until she had done it fifty times then put the brush back down on the counter in the living room. Where a sink was at. She had a kitchen in her room after all, but she never used it. She pulled out a water bottle from the refrigerator. She felt real bad, but she wasn't all that sure if he would drink water since he was a vampire after all. "Do you want some water or something?" It couldn't hurt to ask. She looked over at where he was located, waiting for his reply back to her question.

"You mean, saving humans and they stay human, or you also bite them to save them?" He laughed slightly before answering her question, "mainly so they stay human. I only make them a vampire if they are dying." He smiled again and continued to listen as the female continued to speak, "its nice to meet you Luke, I'm Christine." He nodded, taking in her name as he shook her hand, the start to what appeared at this moment to be a beautiful friendship. "You can sit down if you want Luke." His eyes looked at the couch she pointed at and he took a seat, a smile on his face as he thought about how kind this woman was. Not many people were this friendly.
He watched her take a water bottle out of the refrigerator and wondered what it was like. It had been far too long since he had tasted anything other than blood, not that it mattered much. "Do you want some water or something?" Luke looked at her and smiled slightly, "vampires unfortunately cannot eat or drink. That is why we have to use blood to stay alive. Thank you for offering though." For the first time since he had become a vampire he honestly liked a human and wouldn't hurt them. Christine was different to the others, she accepted the vampires, or at least she accepted him. That was a good thing.

Christine She looked over at Luke, listening to his answer. She didn't know that he couldn't eat or drink human food. "That sucks." She didn't really think about her answer, just said it anyway. He was really nice, it made her glad that he was willing to be her friend. Also she didn't have to worry about him biting her next, not unless she was dying. She was going to have to watch herself to make sure she didn't get herself hurt in the meantime or get him angry for doing something stupid. She couldn't help but think about her past, her father was the reason as of why she was so friendly. He hit her for everything, she could never do anything right in his eyes. And her mother, her mother did nothing about it.
If the rich bastard didn't like her, why didn't he just disown her instead of hitting her so much. He never took a break, he abused her all through out her life. Her mother knew about it and did nothing about it. She couldn't keep the mixed feelings of anger and depressed looks off of her face. What she would give to see that man get what is coming to him. But at the same time, she felt she shouldn't be thinking those thoughts, he was after all her father. Maybe if her father hadn't abused her she might have turned out spoiled like the rest of the rich kids. So in a way she had to thank him, because she was a better person then him. To make herself feel better she gave money away to those in need. It always kept her past out of her mind.
The thought of her parents, made her want to cry. She really hated her father, and her mother in her eyes was just like him. Her mother should have stopped him from hurting her but she just stood by and watched it happen. She tried to clear her head, still in the kitchen leaning against the counter. She placed the water bottle onto the counter next to her, and almost in a whisper, starting cursing in French.

Luke watched as Christine seemed to go into a world of her own, clearly lost in her own thoughts. He knew better than to disturb her or do anything that may upset her, he knew that he would like to be left alone if he was in her situation. His eyes stayed fixed on her though, just so he could make sure that she was okay. Luke put the palms of his hands together as he stayed sat on the couch, watching as Christine put the bottle of water on the kitchen counter and then leaned against it. He had no idea what was going on in her mind, even as she began cursing in what he knew to be French. Clearly whatever she had been thinking about was upsetting her and that was never a good thing.
Standing up Luke walked over to Christine and put his hands on her shoulders. "Is everything okay? You seem a little upset and possibly angry." He was genuinely concerned about her. She was, in a way, his damsel in distress after all. He had saved her and she had been kind to him, he owed her his loyalty and friendship. "If there is anything wrong, you can tell me. I am here, as a friend, if you want me to be."

Christine stopped her cursing when Luke stood up and was holding her shoulders. She didn't move, she didn't mind his hands on her shoulders. She listened to his question, she wanted to tell him, she really did but she just couldn't find a way to let the words come out of her mouth or at least not come out clearly for him to understand. His comment about being her friend if she wanted him to be, may her a bit more calm but she was still angry from her thoughts. "You are my friend Luke." She forced a smile on her face. Her angry face changed into a sad one. "Just thinking about my past... it really does suck." She knew that some families had it a whole lot worse, but she didn't believe hers wasn't still crappy.
"I'm not sure if you can tell or not, but I think you can since I just spoke French that I was born in France. As a rich girl. Most are spoiled but I can promise you that I am not. I guess I can thank my father for that." She paused turning her head away, trying to hide the tears forming in her eyes. "He abused me till I left five years ago. I stole his money and my mother's and came here. My mother didn't even try and stop it. I don't hate her for it, but I dislike her, but my father.... my father. I believe I have a right to hate him for what he did." She paused yet again, "Though I should be thanking him too, if he didn't abuse me, I'm sure I would be just another spoiled kid, instead of being kind and helping the need out with the money that I really don't care much about."
Yes she liked to spend money on clothes, and makeup, but she really didn't care about money that much. If she wasn't so fixed up about looking her best, she would give all of her money away to those in need. The time was about 10:00PM by now. "Umm since you brought it up, did you get enough blood for tonight or do you need some more?" She didn't normally do this, but she didn't want him to suffer for watching her all night, then leaving before morning.

Luke listened as Christine explained things and told him about her past. The past was a difficult thing for people at times, even for himself. The things he had seen in his lifetime were quite extraordinary. He lifted his hand and put it on her cheek, gently rubbing her skin with his thumb before lowering his hand back to his side, "I am sure that life is better now." He smiled and looked at her, his eyes staring into hers for a moment before he looked away, confused by everything that was going on.
"Umm since you brought it up, did you get enough blood for tonight or do you need some more?" He looked at her again, wondering if she was offering her blood or just asking in general, he decided to smile slightly and answer, "a vampire could always use more blood. We need it as often as possible, but we can live without it for a few days. That man was the first drink i've had in a while." Luke frowned a little as he found himself moving closer to her, "if I may ask, why live here? Why not get a house or something?"

Christine filched when his thumb touched her face. She never thought a vampire's touch was so cold before. "Sorry, your just cold... I didn't expect that." She answered back, taking in what he had said, she sure hoped so. Now she had asked him a question about the blood, and his answer still surprised her. "I kind of figured that... vampires I believed always like the taste of blood." She paused before adding, "Really, if I may ask, why did you wait so long?" That guy had what was coming to him. She thought to herself, she was still angry that the man had attacked her in the first place, and had been in her room at all. "I was just wondering, because if you need more..." She paused before taking his hand in hers.
"You can take some of mine, but if you please I want to stay human and not die anytime soon." She hoped that he would understand that. If she could avoid it she wanted to live, and as long as possible a human. Then she moved her hand out of his and turned it so that her palm was showing. "I'd also like it on my arm instead of neck... Easier to hide in my eyes." She didn't like the idea of being bitten in the neck, nor giving her blood. Though she owned him for saving her life, and she wanted to make sure that it would be her that gave blood instead of him possibly killing somebody else for theirs. His next question caught her by surprise. "Well... Maybe I am more spoiled then I though... I didn't want to deal with taking care of a home, I don't have that much stuff, and these people get paid here so yeah... Plus I like living here."
