Luke held a bottle of blood in his hand as he walked through the town, the moonlight shining down on him, his footsteps barely making a noise as they seemed to glide along the ground. The curtain of a bedroom window opened slightly and Luke looked up to see a woman staring out at him, apparently watching his every move. He couldn’t help but extend his fangs and wink at her before taking a sip of the blood he was holding. It was fresh blood, from a human, not that fake rubbish they were selling in all the bars or the weak crap that came from animals. Human blood was definitely the best, even if killing a mortal would probably lead to a painful death.
After a few minutes he found himself in the forest, his eyes gazed around for a second before he jumped up into a tree, his balance perfect as his feet landed gracefully on a branch. Luke glanced out at the scenery for a while and frowned as he sensed something more than deer and the other animals. No, there was something new in here, something that he hadn’t sensed in this town before. Lucky he wasn’t a cat otherwise curiosity would have killed him by now. Luke was anxious to know what this thing was, he wanted to meet them soon. [/blockquote]

Maggie was never one to act like a lady. It might as well have been a universal truth. Maggie was as stubborn and carless as they came. Some argued it was a result of poor parenting, others justified her behavior because of the two fangs she sported often shameless when she felt like stirring up the emotions of any humans that surrounded her. Often times she would hide it to try to blend in with what she considered to be the half witted human population of America. It seemed a lot harder now that they knew and were much more weary of those undead that walked among them. That's is why she often resorted to finding her meals at bars. The less aware they were the better. There was no way she was going to drink that fake stuff. It was like eating a grape instead of an apple...although it had been sometime since she had touched anything but blood.
So there she was, sitting in a branch with her latest victim. His lifeless body hung like the recent kill of a wild cat on the savannah. Many might have considered Maggie's display as a little much but to her it only represented her feelings towards those that felt like condemning her undead soul to hell. As the broken neck of the young man slipped from her fingers she licked the blood off her lips. The mangled corpse made a loud thud as she pushed it from the branch before leaning back and admiring the stars she had seen for a little over a century. It was a peaceful night and she was happy she had made the journey to her new home. A low growl escaped her lips as as picked up on a scent. She wasn't a very social creature, especially after her meals.

Luke's eyes narrowed slightly as he heard a low growl not too far away. This definitely wasn't an animal, he could sense that much. He scanned the area where the growl had came from with his eyes, not moving from the tree he was in, nothing was out of place except the lifeless body of a human on the floor. That confirmed his suspicions. There was another vampire lurking around and Luke was not impressed. This was his town and no one was going to take away his food.
With a sigh Luke gracefully jumped down from the tree and landed firmly on the ground. This newcomer needed to know just exactly who lived in this town. At his top speed he ran to the other tree and instantly jumped up, landing inches away from the other vampire. What he saw stopped him in his tracks. This vampire was a female. To him, even after a thousand years, this was a little extraordinary. A female vampire just sitting in the tree after having just killed a human and drained them of their blood.
Luke stood there, looking down at her, wanting to know every single thing about her. More than anything though, he wanted to see her face. "Who are you?" He crouched slightly, ready to attack if she tried anything. He wasn't a man to take prisoners. The wars had taught him to kill those that became an enemy. "I asked you a question." [/blockquote]

Things never were easy, were they? That's why she wasn't that surprised this vampire had perched himself on the branch directly in front of her. She didn't have to think twice or peer deep into his soul (a skill she often felt she possessed because of how quickly she would make her mind up about someone) to realize that this broad vampire happened to be a total moron (or so she thought). Naturally she felt she was just as entitled to the rest of the forest as anyone else. She also felt she was just as entitled to play the angel of death and decided to even out the human population in order to provide her next meal. "And I have a right not to answer." she snapped as her eyes stared deep into his. Her lips parted slightly as she studied him wondering who the hell this guy thought he was. "Dinner is over sparky so you can get your own meal." She smirked slightly before jumping down from the tree and landing flawlessly on two feet.
Maggie walked off in the moonlight, not bothering to cover up the remains of her meal. She had a feeling that would not be the last time she would see him. She was counting on it too.

“And I have a right not to answer.” Luke just stared at her, amazed that someone had actually stood up for themselves and answered him back. This female was impressive. He liked her attitude. He stared back into her eyes as she stared into his, “dinner is over sparky so you can get your own meal.” Once again he was shocked by her reaction and just stood there for a second as she jumped down from the tree. That's when it hit him. He needed her. With her on his side they could rule this town.
After jumping down Luke caught up with the female and stood in front of her, his arms folded over his chest, "in my lifetime I have never met anyone with your personality. In one thousand years, I have never known a female that would respond to someone the way you did." His eyes narrowed slightly as he checked her out, not once looking at her face, just making sure she was suitable for helping him rule. "You know that you could have more power than just an ordinary vampire. All you have to do is join me." Nothing like getting straight to the point. Luke couldn't help but wonder what she would make of his offer. He hoped she would make the right decision. [/blockquote]

Like she had figured he caught right back up to her the minute she hopped down from the tree. She could not help but just stare back into his scheming eyes. "Excuse me?" she folded her arms as she lifted her eyebrow. "Female?!" she could not believe he had said that. "I'm not some kind of prized horse. Don't refer to me as a female ever again. I would think in those thousands of years you were gracing this earth with your moronic presence that you would learn how to be a gentlemen and not refer to women as females like some kind of ass backwards zoologist." she growled as her eyes narrowed. "So in answer to your question no thanks. I work and hunt alone."
With this she pushed past him and kept walking as she shook her head. "Unbelievable." she muttered under her breath. She had no idea what kind of crazy ideas this vampire was thinking of but as far as she was concerned she wanted no part of it.

He stared blankly at her as she gave him a lecture on how to speak. Was she for real? Telling him what to do? That was a big mistake. His eyes fixed on her face as she continued talking, his mind wondering when she was going to shut the heck up. Then she did. The female stopped talking and pushed past him, walking away after doing so. It took Luke a second or two to come back to reality and once he did so he was stood in front of her almost instantly. "You see, I never mentioned working or hunting. I said rule and power." A small growl escaped his lips, "or I could just make up a story and turn you in to the head vampire of these parts. Your choice."
Without much consideration or thought into the matter one of his hands took hold of her throat and Luke slammed her into a tree, his free hand snapping off a branch and putting it against her chin, "if I were you, I would choose wisely. It seems you're still a little new to this life we have. I on the other hand have plenty of experience and years of practice. Give me what I want and you will be safe forever." His face moved closer to her and eventually his lips hovered next to her ear, "it would not turn out well for you if I didn't get what I want."

There wasn't a whole lot she could do in her position. She had to face the facts at that point in time he had the advantage. Maggie tried to growl but it only came out as a slight gasp from the pressure he was placing on her. "I'm not that young." she managed to say as she tried to shift her weight in hopes to find a chance of escape. Compared to him she was pretty young. He had the advantage over her in not only years but experience. So as much as she hated to admit it, she couldn't do much of anything. She closed her eyes as she tried to pull herself together she had been been completely caught off guard and to her that was unsettling. She had not expected him to be so strong.
Maggie stared into his eyes as she began to tear up. Her mouth parting slightly as she shock. She placed her hand on his cheek and stroked it and she tired to smile. "You wouldn't really hurt me would you?" she whispered softly making sure to keep her eye contact with him for as long as possible. Maggie could only hope that he would be stupid enough to fall into her trap. No matter how strong a vampire was no one could ignore the fearful look in her eyes as she pleaded for mercy. Maggie wasn't unaware of things, she understood that she was a very beautiful woman and she often played this to her advantage to save her own ass.

As the female stared into his eyes Luke stared back, wondering what her next move would be. The branch was still in his hand as she placed her own on his cheek, her touch light against his skin. "You wouldn't really hurt me would you?" Smirking Luke moved forward slightly as though he was going to kiss her, he just laughed instead and stabbed the branch into her shoulder before grabbing her hand and breaking the fingers. "Does that answer your question?" A low growl escaped his lips as he continued to stare into her eyes, hoping she was in as much pain as he wanted her to be in.
"When you have lived as long as I have, you learn not to fall for tricks like that." His grip on her throat tightened slightly as he smirked, "now, I will ask you one last time. Are you willing to join me or do I have to get you killed? Would be such a shame, a pretty little thing like you dying." His eyes now glared at her with a hint of anger, showing that he was serious about this. Luke wasn't afraid to kill another vampire or even another supernatural being. They just didn't matter to him. More could always be made.
Gently kissing the female's forehead Luke tugged the branch out of her and pressed it against her chin again, "your choice, of course."

Maggie gave an immediate gasp and muffled cry of agony, as she stared into his eyes. The once fake tears where now real as she tried her best to bear the pain. If her heart was still beating it would have been beating slightly faster at this point. She hated being forced into things but at the same time she valued her undead life and from the looks of things this vampire was not messing around. Was she just doomed to be a pawn in his little game? That wasn't what she wanted but there was no use in fighting him if she wanted to sink her fangs into someone else again. "Why are you doing this to me?" she said with a grunt as he pulled the branch from out of her shoulder and pressed it aganist her chin. If she had known that she would be running into this lunatic she would have avoided this area completely.
"now, I will ask you one last time. Are you willing to join me or do I have to get you killed? Would be such a shame, a pretty little thing like you dying." Words completely escaped her and all she could manage to answer with has a slight nod, wanting more then anything for his grip to loosen. She wanted to run, she wanted out. Besides fear, was hate. Hate for what this vampire was doing to her, and anger for the fact that for once she couldn't get herself out of a situation like this.

Luke loosened his grip on her throat and smiled slightly, trusting her not to be stupid and go back on her word. He had no problem killing vampires and if she tried anything then he wouldn't hesitate to kill her. "I am glad we have an understanding. If you value your life then you will not go back on your word." His hand holds her chin as he steps closer and looks into her eyes, "It would be a big mistake on your part." A low growl rumbled in his throat as he let go of her and took a step back, his eyes staying fixed on her so he could make sure she didn't try anything.
Then, suddenly, he held out his hand for her. "My name is Luke. I am a thousand years young, served in the frontline of both great wars and i'm still as good looking as ever." Luke smirked as he tried not to think about the things that have happened in his life. Serving the Royal Family in England under the ruling of King Henry VIII and then again under the rule of Queen Victoria, protecting them as much as possible. Then the first World War and then the second, each time fighting on the frontline and watching people die. None of it was that fun. Except trying to make Hitler a vampire. That was cool even if it was stupid.

She had never had a more unsettling feeling in her life. There was nothing she hated more than knowing someone had successfully placed her at the bottom. She was so distracted by her thoughts that she barely heard a word he said to her. More than anything she wanted to fight back and rip this vampire apart but she was unsure of what the outcome would be. “Please just forget you met me…please just let me go.” Maggie barely had time to think before she realized that she was now running. No matter how hard she tried to tell herself to stop, she couldn’t. At that point it had seemed that some invisible force was pulling her and calling the shots. The need for freedom becoming so empowering that her body responded automatically to the threat and attempted to escape, her little legs carried her as fast as they could possibly go.
This hadn’t been the first time she had ran. There were numerous times she could have gotten her ass thrown in jail. Back during the prohibition in America the law was not the biggest fan of alcohol consummation. Speakeasies were an essential to her. As much as she wanted to believe she had a fairly clean slate, she had been involved with bootlegging, knowing that the highly illegal profession at that time would lead one to a great deal of money. By the time Maggie had reached America she was digging up as much spare change to make a living. The police often weren’t going to let her off the hook, she had built up quiet a reputation after talking herself out of being arrested several times. Whether it be by jail or a vampire she just met, freedom was something she wasn’t just going to hand over. She valued it more than life itself, and if she died trying to fight for it, So be it.

Luke rolled his eyes as the female started to run away. Seems she really didn't understand the fact he only gave people one chance and then killed them if they messed it up. This pathetic moron had annoyed him too much now and death was the only option for her. Luke's eyes focused on her as she ran away, he was waiting for the perfect chance to attack. He wasn't going to mess around now, at this point things were serious and the female vampire needed to learn not to mess with him. Death was the answer. "Run, run, little piggy."
After growling slightly he was suddenly in front of her, a frown on his face as his anger took control and he forced the branch into her chest, just under where her heart was. "You're going to beg for mercy, or die." He snarled whilst pushing her to the ground and crushing her leg with his foot, his strength making it easy to break her leg. "Start begging!"

The forest that was once blurring past her came to a sudden halt as she was slammed into the ground. Agony would only describe the intense cry that escaped her lungs as the stake was forcefully driven into her chest. “Forgive me please!” Her eyes began to tear up as she stared back into his. There was no disguising the fact that she was scared for her undead life. “Tell me what you want me to do. Just please don’t kill me.” she said weakly, her body shaking as the pain radiated out. Her fingers graced his cheek once again as she managed to prop herself up slightly. ”Please.” As she got weaker she closed her eyes and dropped her hand. It wasn’t long before she felt her body go numb. The only evidence she was dead was the fact she could feel him pressing down on the stake.
Trouble was something that often found her. It was only a matter of time that things caught up to her and threw her into a deep hole. There was a good chance she wasn’t going to survive this. He held her undead life in the palm of his hand. Only a few seconds had gone by but it felt like hours. She opened her eyes again and looked at him with a intense fear. “Don’t kill me…” she whispered. Maggie couldn’t understand how he could look at her and watch her suffer. Sure she had done it many times before, but she was normally able to get out of things because no one liked seeing a pretty face like her erupt into tears. ”Don’t do this.”

Luke looked down at her, "have you learned to behave yourself and that it is a bad idea to get me angry?" His eyes fix on her but the way he is staring makes it look like he could be burning into her very soul. A smirk came across his face as he took a step away from her and held out his hand again. "Stand up you pathetic waste of fangs." Right now this woman had angered him too much and she was lucky that he hadn't killed her. It would have been so easy to do, she was so much younger compared to him. It was a wonder why she hadn't been killed already, no doubt she was the type of person to get into a lot of trouble.
He couldn't remember much about his younger years as a vampire, or even how he became one. The only memory he had was of him falling off a horse and getting knocked out, hours later he woke up with a female watching over him and a sense of burning in his throat. He would give anything to find that woman and tear her apart, then again he did have a lot to thank her for. A thousand years of life was a miracle, even if he was dead for most of it.
