Lynette sighed. This was going to be nice. She was going to relax and enjoy being alone. That was all she wanted at the moment, anyway. And what better way to relax than go to the Hide Out. It was just so well hidden in the cove that most people didn't seem to know where it was. And, what more, she loved how peaceful it seemed to be. She could sit here, watching the waves roll in as darkness fell, playing her violin. Plus, Angel was able to move through the sand without having to worry about people complaining.
Lynette's familiar just seemed to love running through the sand. She was playing by herself, listening to her masters music. Though Lynette was in her own bikini, she wasn't swimming. Her long pink hair cascaded around her face. It seemed to make her bright blue eyes and pale skin stick out all that much more. No wonder so many people thought she was a vampire. If it wasn't for the fact that she worked daylight hours, people would probably hate her. Well, the vampire haters would at least. Oh well.
The young witch started to play her violin. Latin words spilled out as she played, singing them in the night air. The moon shone bright above, illuminating the little hide-a-way with enough light for her to see. She had her book with her, her gremoire, just in case. She was thinking about practicing a little later. But now, she just wanted to relax. Play her music, take a midnight dip in the water, then spellwork. Besides, Angel was having so much fun.

James was walking the beach, he needed to clear his head after the busy day he just had. He had been hired to be an interpreter in a legal dispute between an American and a visiting Frenchman. He had spent most of the day being yelled at in two languages, but it was good pay. Still he had tossed on a v-neck undershirt, some brown trunks and a worn pair of sandals, he should buy a new pair now that he thought about it.
As he was walking the beach enjoying the cool sea air, he began to hear violin music. He enjoyed the violin, he'd learn to play as a boy, at his mothers urging. Then again he'd also learned to play the piano and the guitar, was my childhood wasted he thought to himself. His family sure did force a lot on him when he was a child.
James looked around but could not see the source of the music, so he decided to follow it to its source. As he got closer to the playing he began to hear Latin words, Classical Latin too not a more common Vulgar Latin. He finally caught sight of a small black and white kitten, belonging to the violinist he gathered. It was playing just outside the mouth of a little hide-a-way that would have been difficult to find if not for the music.
As he approached the hide-a-way the kitten retreated back near its owner, who was unbelievably... hot James thought. He kind of squatted down so he could hear her play, although he tried to be quiet so as to not disturb her.

Lynette was getting way to into her own music. To think, the girl was actually just a regular run-of-the-mill cashier during daylight hours. Hey, she needed to make money somehow. And, besides, it was easy. Plus it allowed her to meet all sorts of new people. Plus, her shifts weren't uber long like other peoples and she still got paid as much as them. She was just super awesome when it came to those things. For a shy girl, she was quite assertive at times. But, it all depended on the time of day and, well, who was around her.
With just her familiar with her, though, she felt like she was the queen of the world. Though Lyn had her eyes closed, she could sense her kitten's movements. It was as if the two were of one being. And, in a way, that was the type of relationship most witches had with their familiars. Lynette played and sang while her familiar seemingly danced to the music. It did catch Lyn a little off guard when she felt the kitten come up behind her and hide. At first she thought nothing of it, continuing to play. She just assumed that the waters were getting too high for the kitten or something had jumped and spooked her.
It wasn't until Lynette actually sensed the presence of another that she stopped. Opening her eyes, the young witch stood, jumping back just enough that she wouldn't step on Angel. though she could feel magic in the air, she pushed it aside. "Bloody Hell!" she whispered, looking the man over. He was cute. God, and she didn't do well when around cute guys. Bad things always started to happen. Like her tripping or her trying to cast a spell that backfires. She also had a little mishap involving turning a guy into a frog by accident once. And she always seemed to blush. Even over the silliest of things. Still, the magic that seemed to electrify the air helped her a little with her confidence. "I-I'm sorry. I wasn't aware that... that someone else was going to be here tonight... I... umm... I should go." Lynette was fumbling with her words, taking a few steps back at a time. Angel herself was at her feet, trying to be protective of her master. Leave it to Angel to be the brave one of the two.

"No, no I'm sorry, you were here first. I didn't even know this little nook was here, I only found it because of your violin playing." Look at her eyes, look at her eyes, James had to remind himself. "I should be the one to leave, I'm new in town anyways, I'm just out exploring." James' eyes begin to wander a little, ah... "That's a cute kitten, whats its name?" He hopes his attempt to cover for his checking her out worked! He can also feel his cheeks grow a little warmer, oh please don't be blushing, James thinks to himself. Or at least let it be too dark for her to see.
James was so distracted by this young women's uh... eyes, that he only now began to notice all of the magic in the air, this couldn't be natural he thought. Was this woman responsible? James decided to stretch out with his magical senses, there was indeed quite a bit of magic in the air, and as usual it wasn't between James and the woman he was with. Focus James, he reached his senses toward the babe, he means young woman, in front of him. She had a power about her, in fact she was a fellow witch, the only he had ever crossed paths with that wasn't a family member.
"I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but are you a witch?"

True, she may have been there first, but that didn't mean that she hadn't ruined anyone's plans. It was a possibility and she didn't want to take chances. Wait... but... if this magic was coming from him... she wanted to figure out if he was a witch too! She didn't meet too many male witches it seemed. And not any that were this hot. "N-no... please don't leave. I... I mean... Yo-you don't have to. I just... I just thought that... maybe, you had... other plans," she stuttered. She tried to keep her eyes on his face. But it was so hard! Then again, she couldn't help but wonder the trouble he was having with keeping his eyes on hers...
"That's a cute kitten, whats its name?"
Or not. Lynette started to giggle a little at the sight before her. There was just enough moon light to give her a clear picture, too. He was using the excuse. And it was making her blush just as much as he seemed to be blushing. Though she was hoping that he wouldn't notice. "Her name is Angel. I've only had her for a few months, but she is the most loyal kitten ever," Lyn cooed. She offered a small, nervous smiles, trying her hardest not to check him out. Thank god she had better self control than she had ever imagined.
Okay, her self control wasn't all that great. Her eyes slowly slid down his form curiously. She could help herself! He just... had that look, you know? He was so... so... so...
"I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but are you a witch?"
Lynette's attention went front and center. "I... I... I don't know wha-what you are talking about," she stuttered. Then realized how bad she was at lying when she was nervous. Nervous? Was that how she felt? Well, of course! Her stomach was filling with butterflies. Tons and tons of them, it seemed. Just fluttering about. "I-i mean... yes. But... you would only know that if you were one, too..." her voice seemed to fade as she realized something.
She took another involuntary step backwards, out of nervousness, only to trip over herself and fall. She fell right on her bottom. Angel looked at Lynette before going back to the defensive side. "Ow. That kinda hurt..." she muttered.

"Oh my God!", James rushes to help her up! As he takes her hands, blue sparks fly from them. "Huh, must be all the magic in the air", James says as he helps her to her feet. He looks into her eyes unsure of what to say next, suddenly realizing he hasn't let go of her hands. "Sorry if I scared you at all, I didn't mean to." James finally lets go of her Hands, slowly.
James is suddenly distracted by something rubbing up against his leg. He looks down at Angel, taking the opportunity to check out the woman in front of him again. "May I", he says as he bends down to pick up Angel. He lets the kitten sniff his hand first, and waits for her to rub against his hand before he picks her up. "Aren't you just the most adorable little kitty ever. Oh yes you are, yes you are", James says as he rubs his chin to the kitten's cheek. He looks back up at the bikini clad woman, "I'm totally losing macho points right now aren't I?" James begins to blush a little again, as he hands Angel back to the woman whose name he still hasn't asked for. Idiot ask her what her name is, and introduce yourself to her too while your at it, James reminds himself. "I'm James by the way, whats your name?"

When he took her hands to help her up, Lynette saw the blue sparks. They were... well, magical would be a bit cliche. But it was... wow. It made the butterflies in her stomach start to flutter even more. They were going crazy, the butterflies were. She felt like she was on a roller coaster. She just felt so strange.
"Sorry if I scared you at all, I didn't mean to."
He pulled her to her feet and didn't let go, which made her blush a little. "Oh... I-it's fine. Not scared at all. I... I mean you didn't scare me at all," she managed to say. When he let her hands go, she slowly let them fall to place at her sides. She was so nervous at the moment. Without knowing it, she held her own hand in front of herself. It was her go to pose when she got a bit sheepish. Though she wasn't going to let him know that. At least she wasn't going to purposefully.
When he asked her 'May I?' she nodded, knowing exactly what he wanted to do. Lynette watched as he slowly let the cat sniff his hand and then picked her up. As he cooed to her in baby talk, she giggled a bit. That was the cutest thing she had ever seen. Well, the cutest thing she had ever seen a guy do. It was so terribly cute.
"I'm totally losing macho points right now aren't I?"
She shook her head, giggling. "No. Not at all. In fact, I think you just gained a few points in my book," she said, taking her kitten back. Angel purred in her arms and Lynette looked down, blushing again. 'Stop acting so shy! You're a witch, be assertive and act like one!'
she told herself. Of course, she wouldn't listen to herself but it was the thought that counted. Sometimes quite literally. "I'm Lynette... B-but you can call me Lyn if you want," she said, introducing herself. She smiled at him and looked around. "Wo-would you like to... sit... down?" she asked. Why? She hadn't a clue. But it would be much more comfortable than just standing. Plus, she was less likely to hurt herself if she was sitting. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Sure, I'd love to sit down... Lyn", James replied. Uh-oh, the palms are starting to feel sweaty, think of something to say... "Are you sure your ok?", Of course she is, if she wasn't she would've said take me to a hospital, stupid James, real stupid. "So what brings you out here tonight?" God James thought, are you going to ask her about the weather too? Why are you such a loser? "You play the violin, so do I. I have since I was young." Why does everything I say sound so stupid, calm down James, she asked you to sit. Also stop getting lost in your own thoughts, and listen to what she has to say. Wow, thought James, I'm actually lecturing myself.
James had to try to keep his eyes up as Lyn talked, he didn't want her to think him a perv, but she just looked so damn hot right now. The moonlight on her pale skin, her face framed by her pink hair, he really liked the pink hair. Oh man, he realized his eyes were roaming again. Did she notice him staring? She must have, your ogling her like a love sick fan-boy.
"So, what do you do for work?", he asked, "are you a model?" She's definitely a model he thought.

Thank god. She was positive if she stood any longer, she would trip and fall a few more times. Or... well... there were a lot of things that she could do by accident, though she was sure that tripping was her worst fear. That and, well... she didn't want to embarrass herself in front of the cute witch guy. He was actually giving her attention! The only guy that ever did that was Buffy... but Buffy was just her best friend. Well... her closest friend. God, she really needed to get out more. Oh, wait, he was talking? She had to listen.
When he asked her if she was ok, she giggled a little. "I'm fine. I... I'm pretty sure I am at least." He asked her another question. It was kind of funny to her. He really seemed to be trying to change the topic over and over. Though she didn't mind. She kind of liked hearing his voice. "W-well... I came out her.. to relax. I... I was just going to practice a little. Take a swim... and then look through my gremoire."
Why was she actually telling him this? It wasn't like it was any of his business at all! But she didn't want him to leave. she was starting to like the presence of another witch being around. It was nice. And... he was hot. Really hot. No, bad Lynette. Stay focused! 'Screw being focused. Look at him. He is hot! Don't try to deny it,' she thought.
"You play the violin, so do I. I have since I was young."
His voice brought her back out of her little reverie. She seemed to have gotten so into her own thoughts that she almost missed him speaking. How could she do that? That wasn't very nice. She should be focusing on him with all her attention. "Really? Th-that's so neat. I... I would love to... hear you play sometime," she said, smiling. Lynette gazed over at him and boy that was a bad idea. Her eyes started to move downwards, bit by bit. She had to force herself to look back up at his eyes. And, well... it was kind of funny. He was looking her over just as much as she him. How sweet. At least they both could appreciate looks.
"So, what do you do for work? Are you a model?"
Now she laughed. It was nervous, but it was there. "I... I wish I was a model. But... well... truth is... I... I'm just a cashier at the local convenient store," she admitted. "B-but thank you for the compliment... And... what about you? You... you do anything... exciting? Work wise that is because witches are exciting... I mean... um... uh..." She looked away. 'Good going, Lynnie. You just keep embarrassing yourself and making yourself look like a complete idiot. Get a grip girl!' Lyn told herself. But, yet again, she was not likely to listen.

James felt stupid right now, he just realized he has been rapid firing questions at Lyn, he must seem like such a spaz to her right now. But , he told himself, she's still here. I wonder what shes thinking right now... James couldn't help it but he recalled his Grandma's spell to read thoughts, but that wouldn't be right, he remembers how much he hated it as a kid. He never got away with anything while Grandma was around. Then again he never really got away with anything while any member of his family was around.
James looked at Lyn again and began to smile. He has been so caught up in his own thoughts that he didn't notice Lyn sounded just as nervous as he felt. But was she nervous because she liked him or because he was creeping her out. He hoped the former rather than the latter, but he comforted himself with the fact that she was still here.
She responded to his question, she was a cashier, cool he thought, she still knows how to be normal despite the witchcraft. Then she asked, "what about you? You... you do anything... exciting? Work wise that is because witches are exciting... I mean... um... uh..." , wait was she saying she thinks I'm exciting. He decided to try to use this to his advantage, "Well the only other witches I know, I'm related to but... I could see how other witches could be... exciting." He said exciting in a much lower tone, you know to try to sound seductive... maybe. God your bad at this James.
"I'm not keeping you from anything am I, I realize I've been interrupting your plans." If she says you can stay, maybe your not so bad at this, he thought. "If you want to go for a swim, don't let me stop you. Not to imply that I would watch you swim... because that would be wierd... or to imply that we should go swimming together. If I was going to suggest that I'd probably say lets go skinny dipping...", and in that moment James' mouth hung aghast as a look of horror washed over his face. I can't believe you just said that... you blew it man, you blew it big time, was all that he could think.

When he told her that the only other witches he knew, he was related to, she blinked. Truth be told, the same was true for her. She didn't know any witches that she wasn't related to... Okay, she knew the people in her aunt's coven... but she thought as them all as her family anyway. They were all like aunts and uncles to her in one way or another.
The way he said the word exciting sent tingles down her spine. It really gave her the chills. The good kind, too. She had never heard someone speak to her that way before. She kind of liked it. No, wait. This wasn't right, though. She had only just met the guy! but he was so hot! And... the sparks. The sparks! She had read stupid books that mention 'sparks flying' when two people met, but sparks had literally went flying when their hands touched. It had been incredible! She had never seen anything like it, never felt like this before.
He brought her out of her reverie again. He really needed to stop getting so distracted. Really needed to stop getting lost in her own thoughts. "O-oh no. You aren't interrupting a thing! And... even if you were... I... I wouldn't mind. I mean..." Her cheeks were on fire so she started to look away again. Lynette tried to stare off. She was going to ruin this. She just knew it!
"If you want to go for a swim, don't let me stop you. Not to imply that I would watch you swim... because that would be wierd... or to imply that we should go swimming together. If I was going to suggest that I'd probably say lets go skinny dipping..."
If her cheeks had been on fire before, they would be in hell now. Yes, they were that hot. She bit her lip lightly, too nervous and flustered to say a single thing. A small smile was playing across her lips, though. Which kind of surprised her. Though she wouldn't want to go skinny dipping (unless the moon were completely full that was), she found herself wanting to swim. Anything that would give her an excuse to not have to talk and just look at him.
"N-no skinny dipping please... but... would you... want... to go swimming? I mean, you don't have to. I just thought maybe it would be fun. A-and swimming does seem to clear the mind. At least mine..." she paused for a moment. "I... I.. I'm... just going to stop talking now..." Lynette finally decided. If she kept talking, she was going to embarrass herself even more. If it wasn't her feet, it was her mouth. Why?

Whew, James thought that stupid comment didn't ruin anything, Lyn even invited him for a swim. She also didn't really seem to see that look of horror on his face at his own comment, at least that is what James secretly hoped. Honestly he thought, she isn't the one that needs to stop talking.
The heat in James face began to subside, maybe we can just go for a swim and forget I ever said that at all. However that didn't sit right with James, he felt bad for making that vulgar remark, he felt like apologizing. "Hey about what I said... I should apologize, I did really mean it.... and sometimes my mouth runs faster than my brain... so sometimes I say really stupid things." James decided to be honest with her, because honesty was the best policy... right? "I want to be honest about something... I'm really nervous. I don't really talk to really beautiful women all that much, so I tend to get... kind of nervous."
James realized he was repeating himself, so he decided to change the subject again, "I'd really like to go for that swim, if you still interested." Before waiting for her response he takes his shirt off, he may not be a great talker but he takes good care of his body. In fact women have complemented it before, so maybe him shirtless will help his cause a bit he thought.
He made his way over to the water with Lyn, his embarrassment over the past few minutes beginning to fade. James walked into the water till it passed his ankles, "The water is a little chilly tonight." He decided he would try to impress her with a little magic. He bent down facing the ocean and away from Lyn, he places his hand in the water and begins his incantation. When he is done with the spell, he looks over his shoulder back to Lyn and says, "I did a little spell to warm the water in this area up a bit, is this warm enough for you?"

"Hey about what I said... I should apologize, I did really mean it.... and sometimes my mouth runs faster than my brain... so sometimes I say really stupid things. I want to be honest about something... I'm really nervous. I don't really talk to really beautiful women all that much, so I tend to get... kind of nervous."
Was it possible for her cheeks to feel so hot that they would be hotter than hell? Had she heard him right? Had he just called her... beautiful? Her? Boy oh boy... what was she supposed to say to that? Well, for starters, she could be honest too. "Oh no... I-it was perfectly alright. Just a... a little slip of the tongue, right? T-to be honest... I'm pretty nervous myself. I... I don't usually do well... talking to guys... especially not ones as hot as you... er... um..." There she went again. Slip ups. This is why she should keep her mouth shut! She bit her lip nervously and looked away... again. But she couldn't keep her eyes away for long. The cute witch had started to take off his shirt.
She tried her hardest to pay no attention to it. But it was hard. She slowly stood back up and, well... she couldn't help herself. Without his shirt, he was ten times better looking than he was with it in. And she had already been giving his looks a thirteen out of ten. She had simply nodded her head, a bit delayed, when he asked if she was still interested in swimming. Of course she was. She needed to clear her head. She really needed to clear her head.
Taking a few steps into the water, goosebumps raised on her arms and a chill went up her spine. Yeah, that woke her up a bit. Well, that put a little sense into her. She didn't know how, but it did always seem to help. Swimming in the water, especially when it was this cold. Still, instead of going out far into the water, she couldn't help but look at James. What was he doing? She was so curious. So she started to take small steps over towards him.
"I did a little spell to warm the water in this area up a bit, is this warm enough for you?"
Stepping deeper into the water, she could feel warmth. And it was incredible. She got out far enough that she could still feel the warmth and dive under. She went under for a moment before coming back up, smoothing her hair back. She smiled at him. "It's just perfect," she said. She ran her hand through her hair to smooth it out once more before smiling coyly. "Bet you can't catch me," she cooed before diving under and starting to swim. Maybe it was the water influencing her or maybe she was starting to get comfortable with this guy. Either way, she was going to try and have fun for now.

"Oh, I bet I could catch you." James was already more relaxed in the water, Lyn seemed to be too. She also seemed to be more playful, which James was a little excited about. He just had to remember not to get... too excited, maybe colder water would have been better he thought.
James does a quick spell that allows him to hold his breathe for up to an hour, then dives after Lyn. He figures if he just stays underwater for a while she'll stop swimming, and then he'll catch her.
So thats exactly what he does, he stays underwater until he sees she has stopped swimming. He gets close to her and springs from the water, "Got you!", he shouts as he grabs a hold of her. He has to wait for the salt water to clear out of his eyes, when it does he just stares into Lyn's eyes. "Hi", he says. James isn't sure if its the warm water, the swimming, or if he was blushing again.
James wonders if it is too soon to kiss her, they've just met but it seems so perfect right now. I mean, here they are in the ocean by moonlight no less, and he's staring into her beautiful eyes. He realizes he is holding his breathe again, its easy to do while the spell is still going, he can hold his breathe for up to an hour after all. He slowly exhales, and decides to meet her half way, if she kisses cool, if not he could understand its too soon. He leans in a little, still staring into her eyes...

'I don't think so,'Lyntte thought, swimming as fast as she could. She was a pretty good swimmer and she did swim late nights often. She swam and swam, though didn't think he was really following behind. Stopping, she looked around. "Where did he go?" she whispered to herself. He hadn't left, had he? Oh, he probably did. She didn't have any luck with guys. Ever. Why would that be any different now...
"Got you!"
A small eep escaped her lips as he grabbed her. Water had splashed into her eyes and it took a moment for it to clear. She blinked her eyes a few times. And when everything seemed to clear up, she was staring into a set of the most magnificent eyes she had ever seen. He said hi and she giggled a little. "Hi," Lyn said back. She knew that she was really blushing now.
Her eyes wanted to look away. But they were just being held captive by the handsome witch in front of her. What was she supposed to do? He was so close. Oh so close. At least at the moment he was. So close. She leaned in a little without thinking about it. He seemed to as well. Should she? Shouldn't she? 'Just kiss him, already!' she told herself. For once, she listened.
Lynette leaned in just a little bit more. She closed her eyes and finally, a bit timidly, kissed him.
